1. But not with our knockers out, thankfully!

    We are 'saucy' - official!

Latvia, and more specifically, the town of Jurmala was chosen as the final destination… The Extreme Trifle guys knew a guy called Maris -- and he just happens to be the Deputy Mayor of Jurmala! Which meant he was able to get the police to cordon off the street so we could have a massive street party. CEL-E-BRA-ATE!

You can just about see us behind Thunderbird 4. Yay!

Repairs required on FAB1! We reported a noise which had been going on for about half a day. Of course, we were ignored to start with, but eventually they realised something was seriously amiss… A quick inspection revealed "a broken valve spring" - I still have no idea what one of those is, what it does or why it's important.

The guys (heroes to the last) performed emergency surgery yet again and effected a glorious bodge by removing the spring and bending the valve over so the car is now running again "on 3 cylinders". I didn't even know we had one…

…so Neville (the sender of several well-wishing messages) has sent us a translation of his last one… Thanks Neville!

I wish you a safe arrival (in Russia).

    Keep up the good work!

We have no idea what it means, so we hope it's not rude!

[When you get this translated I hope my Russian is OK and makes sense!

We are now 3000 miles in to the trip, and have found the first Internet cafe in 1500 miles!!! Since we last wrote we have travelled north from Oslo to Trondheim and seen spectacular snow peaked mountains and crystal clear fjords. And no car trouble, either!

So here we are about to cross into the Arctic Circle. We're not sure if a Jessica Rabbit has made it this far north before. And we're even less sure what effect the climate is going to have on its performance!

Click the picture for a bigger version and you'll be able to read the sign!

At last we've heard from the girls and it's all be happening… They've got off lightly so far, but other cars in the Supercar Challenge haven't been so lucky! They made it over the channel and through Belgium to Germany for their first stop…

Chitty Chitty Bang Bang was pulled over by the Police in Kent for driving with "illegal protuding wings" - they got let off with a warning!

Thunderbird 4 completely rolled over in a car park in Holland during an impromptu stunt show for a passing stag do - one rocket booster was damaged but the car was otherwise ok.

And then we lined up for a photo call in a car park -- we're the beautiful ones on the left!

Now, we never pretend to be mechanically minded, so you can't blame us.

I noticed that the car was making a kind of "zzzz…pop…brrrr" noise, which I was pretty sure it wasn't supposed to do. Starsky stuck his head under the bonnet and told us that there was no oil in the engine. And that the plug leads were hanging off (whatever they are). Still, they fixed it and we're back on the road!

A rest stop in a field somewhere in Germany (we think). Next we're heading off to Copenhagen and then up through Sweden to the Arctic Circle (brrrrr!).

We interrupt this blog for a brief public service announcement…

We believe the girls (and the rest of the convoy) are currently somewhere in Scandinavia, but lines of communication have been down so we can only guess. Hopefully they'll find a cybercafe soon.

In the meantime, we've received several good luck messages, including this one in Russian!

    "??? ????? - (Love-Honey in Russian - I think - literally Honey of Love?)

I hope you can make out the Russian words (unicode format is needed)

    Thank you Neville!

Hang on, that's horse-racing not Formula 1… Anyway, things are getting exciting as we load up on condoms and vibes and start arguing about what music we're going to be listening to on the journey.. Maroon 5, Scissor Sisters, Franz Ferdinand and Red Hot Chilli Peppers are in my stack -- Jenny is bringing a load of show tunes… How camp!

We've also bought a couple of phrasebooks which will help us get by. Jenny says she can get by in Italian and French, and can ask the way to the train station in German. Useful if we get lost and breakdown I suppose…
