Dr Ben Davis

GP & Clinical Sexologist

Dr Ben Davis is a medical doctor, clinical sexologist, and COSRT-registered sex and relationship therapist. He's one of only a handful of doctors internationally to be dual-trained in sexual medicine and psychosexual therapy.

Ben trained at the University of Cambridge and UCL. He holds a PhD in population health, membership of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP), and a Fellowship of the European Committee of Sexual Medicine (FECSM). He also sits on the committee of the British Society of Sexual Medicine.

Working as an NHS GP within his own private clinic, Ben specialises in men's sexual health, bringing his medical and therapeutic expertise together. He works to help men understand the root cause of what they're experiencing, whether that's erectile difficulties, low libido, testosterone deficiency, premature ejaculation, sexual performance anxiety, or loss of desire. These can all have physical causes, psychological causes, or relational ones, and getting that distinction right changes everything.

When it comes to men and sex, Ben is a passionate advocate for moving the focus away from performance and towards pleasure, vulnerability, and intimacy. He brings this essential perspective to a wide public audience as an expert contributor to The Guardian, The Telegraph, Cosmopolitan, the i Paper, and through podcasts and YouTube.

With a specialist interest in gay, bi, and queer men's sexual health, Ben brings hormonal, physical, and psychosexual expertise to a space that has historically centred sexual health through the lens of risk, rather than the full richness of desire, intimacy, and identity. This is a conversation he continues as a regular podcast guest, speaking openly about erections, testosterone, TRT, and sex therapy.

Dr Elesha Vooght

Resident Doctor & Trainee Psychosexual Relationship Therapist

Dr Elesha Vooght is an NHS resident doctor and trainee therapist. She qualified as a doctor in 2018, but her commitment to sexual wellness started long before her first shift. While at medical school, Elesha researched peer-led sexual health education for young people, travelled to Kenya to study HIV prevention programmes, and worked as a researcher or healthcare assistant in multiple sexual health clinics.

After qualifying, Elesha moved to New Zealand to work as an occupational health doctor for sex workers through a grassroots organisation – a role that shaped her belief that sexual pleasure is a genuine health need, not a niche concern. Since returning to the UK, her clinical experience has spanned gynaecology, urology, psychiatry, emergency medicine, and endocrinology.

Alongside her NHS work, Elesha reviews articles on Lovehoney to make sure our advice is backed by the latest sexual health research and guidance. She has worked as a medical advisor for Kandid, Joii, and nevernot, where she's been involved in everything from product design and testing to answering customers' most personal sexual health questions. She's also a trainee psychosexual and relationship therapist at Macmillan Cancer Support.

What drives Elesha is a simple but radical idea: sex isn't just something to treat when it goes wrong. It's a fundamental human need – as basic as eating or sleeping – and everyone deserves to experience it safely, comfortably, and joyfully.

Elisabeth Neumann

User Research Manager & Sexologist

Sexologist Elisabeth Neumann was born in 1992 in the heart of Berlin, where she was deeply influenced by the city's rich history of sex-positive and queer-friendly underground culture that dates back to the 1920s.

This early exposure shaped her commitment to sexual education, and soon she found herself working with teenagers and young adults. She took her expertise to various festivals and events, advocating for safer sex, fostering consent, and addressing related issues faced by adoloescents.

Her passion for the field deepened as she delved into reproductive justice, working with organizations like pro familia—the German counterpart to Planned Parenthood. Her journey led her to join WowTech (now part of Lovehoney Group) in 2018, where she initially worked in the Innovation Team, focusing on research. Today, she managers the User Research Team at Lovehoney and oversees a global tester community comprising more than 13,000 members. In 2026, she was interviewed by The Times about the complexities of this research, which is often challenged by the gaps in sex education.

Elisabeth firmly believes that knowledge empowers individuals to make informed decisions about their life and bodies. She's particularly interested in investigating the 'blind spots' in research around sexual behaviour, primarily due to a historical lack of funding in the area. For Elisabeth, the highlight of her work at Lovehoney is delving deep into these gaps to question, research, and most importantly, to understand the intricate 'whys' of human behaviour.
