    1. A book of relaxing sensual massage

Reviewed: 01 May 2009 by diamonds, a Straight Going Steady Female

I bought this book for my bloke to read as he isn’t very good at massage - to be honest he just plans hurts me!

After buying a massage oil and cream combo from Lovehoney I added this book to my basket, as I was determined that he wasn’t just going to receive brilliant massages and leave me left out!

The book is really good and informative with lots of pictures showing you how things should be done/look. They're also really quite sexy, which is why I think my bloke did actually have a look at the book!

All I can say is it works! My boyfriend is getting much more better at giving massages and doesn’t hurt me at all anymore.

This book combines lots of things I love, from massage to having teasing touches to the body. I think it also really helps you to learn what you both like and appreciate each others bodies more and builds up lots of intimacy between you both.

It’s a really good sized book with lots of pictures and excellent advice and tips; I think everyone could learn something from it.

      A really good little buy.

That it really helped to teach my boyfriend to massage.
      Nothing I can think of
      Bottom line
      A good little buy!

    1. It's a start.

I like finding books like this when shopping for sex toys because I think we sometimes get so caught up in how many batteries, how many pulse patterns, and whether or not something lights up, that we forget that the real fun of sex is in the touching that you get to do. I mean, really--how often do you get to slide your hands down another person's body without the cops being called?

I picked up this book after a very good session with one of the massage bars I found on this site, thinking it would be good to incorporate massage even more into our sex lives. I think this book works well if you have a keen interest into getting started with sensual massage but don't know where to start, or have never really given massages that didn't start from "honey, I've got a crick in my neck".

The pictures are clear and manages to walk the line between sensuality and pornographic--no one will be put off here. The directions are clear enough to follow (there is always a little element of needing to try it a couple of times to make your moves as natural as what is pictured) and there is an introduction that gives you a clear focus on why sensual massage is so important to your long-term sexual enjoyment.

My only complaint regarding this book is the same one I had about other pocket books in the series (such as the Pocket Guide to the Kama Sutra)--in trying to create a short, accessible guide, while also being 'pocket' in size and breadth, you can sometimes find that the material starts deep and then drifts off. For example, this book starts to talk about stretching exercises and meditations as though it were going to talk about the full lifestyle of sensual massage, but then suddenly switches over to straight massage.

It is only a small complaint, however, as I think this works very well as a starter book. If you like what you read, you can always go on to more in-depth volumes--even without doing so, however, I think you'll find that this book gives you some great ideas on how to touch and be touched that are completely satisfying. Even without batteries.

Beautiful, clear pictures. Plenty of ideas on ways of touching and directions to go.
Can be a little too basic for people who aren't completely new to massage.
      Bottom line
A great little starter book--and a perfect book to grab when you're planning a sweet weekend away with a massage bar and candles.
