Lovehoney Satin and Lace Babydoll Set Blue

When I opened the packet, I was blown away by the colour. This wonderfully soft satin chemise is a brilliant royal blue that makes a wonderful alternative to the usual reds, blacks, and pinks of lots of lingerie. The satin is really stretchy and quite thick, which gives an extra-luxurious finish, and it feels as good to touch as it does to wear.

It's slightly tighter in cut than many babydolls (more like a chemise in shape), but it's still extremely comfortable to sleep in, and is great for showing off your curves! Fit-wise, I'm a size 12/14 with a 36DD bust and I found the Large a perfect fit, though I would say if you're at the larger end of a size 16, you may feel more comfortable in the next size up.

The G-string that comes with the babydoll is fairly simple, but still a good fit and very comfy, but it's the details on this babydoll that makes it so special - from the lace trims around the bust, to the golden heart charm between the cups, to the cute racer back and side splits.

Overall, a really beautiful piece, and a welcome addition to my lingerie collection!

We received the Lovehoney Midnight Blue Spoil Me Satin Babydoll Set to review and as always it came in the usual discreet packaging and arrived really fast.

As with all Lovehoney lingerie, it came in a clear plastic bag with a helpful little tag that shows you the materials and washing instructions.

I have had a few Lovehoney babydolls and I am always impressed with the materials and their general quality, and this one is no exception. First you notice opening it just how vibrant the colour is.

The build quality is as impressive as ever. I recently had the Lovehoney Midnight Bloom Satin Babydoll, which I absolutely loved, and this has the same beautiful lace accents and the Lovehoney heart and bows.

Each corner on the bottom where the slits are on the sides has a nice little bit of lace that not only looks great but adds extra strength to them with a nice little blue bow on top of the slit.

The cups have a strip of lace that sits perfectly on your breasts, making them look amazing according to the OH. The Lovehoney heart sat on another blue bow in the centre of the cups finishes it off perfectly.

The only thing I feel is missing is some adjusters on the strap as they are a little loose, but nothing major. It still sits perfectly feels great, and I can still happily wear it all night as well as sleep in it no problem.

I already own this babydoll in red, plum and light pink, but I couldn't resist picking up this limited-edition blue version too. There have been quite a few people requesting more lingerie in colours other than red, black and purple recently and Lovehoney decided to deliver an eye-catching bombshell in one of their most popular designs. I couldn't be happier about this and hope to see a few more pops of colour over the coming seasons.

It was presented as expected, in understated plastic packaging. I buy most of my lingerie myself so I'm not bothered by this, but if you're giving this as a gift, I'd recommend gift wrapping it first. I think this babydoll, in any colour, would make a fantastic gift for the lucky person in your life.

I couldn't find anything to fault as it's been put together perfectly and made with great care. The quality is excellent as always. The satin is incredibly durable, so I have no worries about it getting torn or ruined. The lace portions have been attached perfectly with no loose threads or frayed material in sight. I love the contrasting black lace against the gorgeous, midnight, bright blue and the final touch of the signature Lovehoney charm, in gold, between the busts.

It comes with a G-string, as most Lovehoney sets currently do and whilst it's nothing special, the quality is good. It's a very basic extra with a plain blue triangle and elasticated black straps. It's better than most pieces of underwear that come with sets and it fits well, although I'd prefer it to be a little tighter. I don't usually wear it for long anyway, so it's not much of an issue.

I purchased the size small (6-8) and I'm a size four to six for reference. I found that this babydoll looks floaty and A-line on me, but some people may find it fits more like a chemise. It isn't tight on me as I'm on the lower end of the size range, but I can see it being somewhat clingy on a curvy size eight. If body-hugging styles aren't really your thing, then I'd suggest sizing up or looking at the Love Me babydolls instead.

I love that this babydoll is floaty on me as I find this is slimming. It skims past my upper thighs and hips, which is exactly how I like it. I'm short (five foot) and find it rests on my mid-to-upper thigh but it has some stretch in it to accommodate taller women.

It's extremely comfortable to wear, whether it's for sex, lounging or sleeping. It can withstand movement, gentle tugging and even a night of tossing and turning.

I'm a 30A bra size, so technically speaking I don't need breast support, but I do prefer to have it. This babydoll doesn't offer that, but I still find it comfortable enough to wear despite this. If you have a bigger bust and find support essential, then you might not be able to wear this for long and it's definitely something to consider before purchasing. The other option is to find a lightweight racer back bra to wear underneath, but this will depend on how clingy the babydoll is to your frame.

Overall, I love the design, quality and colour of this babydoll. I do think some slight breast support and adjustable shoulder straps would have made it perfect, but you can tell that this isn't essential for me to love as it as I own it in four colours. I'm super happy with it and I would highly recommend purchasing it whilst you still can.
