Leg Avenue All-In-One Lace Knickers and Sheer Stockings

I finally feel sexy in stockings!

I do actually have slim legs. I’m usually 10/12, but from comfort eating in an ‘at the time’ comfortable relationship, I have to admit I put on a few pounds, and where did it all go? To my hips and thighs!

Now a recent single single I’m trying to tone again, but as we all know, spot reduction is not possible and I have to look around to find stockings that will fit both my long slender legs and also fit around my thighs.

My usual issue is that the top of the suspenders are usually elasticated and have a plastic rim of sorts around them which are supposed to keep them up. However, as well as that this also pushes the (how should I say), excess meat around the thigh, causing a slight muffin top of the leg which I don’t think is attractive.

I’ve actually been told my legs are slim and it's just me thinking they’re huge, but as long as I can’t find stockings that I believe fit perfectly I’m not going to be happy or feel sexy. So even though I am constantly let down, I keep looking for stockings that fit and finally I think I’ve found them. :D

The leg avenue stockings are presented in a beautiful piece of packaging, rather flimsy but yet still elegant and simple.

The front of the packaging has a very chic appeal to it, with a black matt and glossy diamond design. The front also presents a picture of the front view of the stockings and knickers that can be seen in Lovehoney's pictures. A little love heart peephole is also present to provide a sneekpeek of the item inside. ‘Leg Avenue’ is written along the top in delicate pink calligraphy-style writing. The size guide states that these stockings are ‘one size’. The back of the packaging is very similar, again with the front view and peephole, though the colour scheme differs and is now stripes of pale and baby pink.

Upon opening the packaging the stockings are placed within a plastic cover and wrapped around a cardboard piece to keep them from damage and creasing.

There are two types of fabrics within this piece. Firstly, the sheer material of the stockings and then the lace of the knickers and the ‘suspenders’ that connect the piece together.

Both materials are very elasticated and great quality. I find the sheer material to be very soft, and though it is strong if they’re pulled to much they may (like most tights) ladder.

The lace at first seems a little rough but there aren’t an loose threads that will cause any irritation. The knickers have a little piece of material on the base that form a little liner which is quite basic, but again soft to stop any irritation from lace that would otherwise be exposed. The garter straps have little satin bows placed midway on the material.

Realising how elasticated and strong these were, I was a little more motivated to try these on. At the time of testing these stocking I had no idea about the size and only had the ‘one size’ statement on the packaging to go by.

There aren’t any tags or labels within the knickers and so to determine the front of the stockings you need to look for which way the bows are facing.

Then simply put your legs through the kickers, but be very careful when putting on the rest of the stockings. I didn’t pull the knickers on all the way up until the stockings were in place. Don’t rush! You may catch the lace ‘suspenders’ and damage the item.

Onto the fit. The stockings actually fit exactly like what you can see in the picture. The stockings fit mid-thigh and don’t pull in too tight. However, if I pulled them higher there would be slight ‘muffin-topping’. I believe this is down to the fact that the stockings don’t have that elasticated band around the top. Instead the material is just thicker, making a tighter fit.

The garter straps don’t pull but neither do they gape, and luckily as well, the knickers fit amazingly well. The front of the knickers are lower than the back and they just above the hips. The back of the knickers shows off my bum very well. They are quite high up, though they may differ depending on whether you have a perky bum or a smaller one.

Just as I write this review, I picked the stockings up and one of my nails had a slight nick and just my luck, it's snagged slightly. Doesn’t look like they are as durable as I believed, but they haven’t laddered at least!

I cannot be specific to who these will fit well as, though Lovehoney have stated they are a 6 -12, I personally think that anyone being a size 6 will find them to be slightly baggy, and at the moment I am between an average 12 and they fit perfectly.

Honestly, because these are the first pair of stockings that fit and make me feel sexy, I could actually justify the cost!
