Monogamy Amber & Oriental Spice Steamy Massage Candle 25g

I got this as a small treat for myself and the boyfriend when I was skint but wanted something special for a weekend away.

This candle is rather small (only slightly larger than a standard Vaseline or lipbalm tin) but great for the price.

The scent was lovely, very warming, exotic and romantic! We put the candle on the side of the bath to burn while we had a nice hot soak, then afterwards I used the melted oil to give my boyfriend a back massage. The scent added romance and luxury to our bath, my boyfriend found the scent very relaxing and felt having a warm oil massage really eased out the tension in his shoulders. Using the oil for massage also adds romance and sensuality to a normal backrub.

I recommend this product for those who want to try but aren't sure if they'll like the concept or the scent, but if you're already convinced I'd suggest getting a bigger size to get better value for money.

We've used a Monogamy candle before so decided to try out this one and see what it was like. They're cheap and a good size, about the same size as a normal tealight candle.

As soon as I opened this candle I could spell the spicy aroma. I soon realised it wasn't my favourite smell in the world. It's quite strong and definitely different, might appeal to older couples.

Despite it not smelling great, we weren't going to waste an opportunity for a warm massage, so let it burn for the usual 15/20 minutes. Just like the other Monogamy candle we tried, it melted very slowly and there wasn't much oil to use at all.

The oil itself was nice, not too warm, and feels soft on your skin. However it soaks in quickly and doesn't spread very well. It's a nice warm massage, maybe using the whole candle would make it better.

Overall, I'd recommend this candle to an older couple, or somebody who likes the oriental smells, as it does fill the room when it's burning! You can't go wrong with a Monogamy candle though, if you like the smell.
