    1. The rumbliest wand ever!

Reviewed: 31 May 2016 by Purring-Pussy, a Other Other Female

I was absolutely thrilled to receive an email to say I was receiving the Doxy Extra Powerful Black Die Cast Massage Wand Vibrator LHUK as a tester item. I was looking forward to seeing how it compared to the original Doxy, which I had owned for a short while, but always kept going back to using my Lovehoney Deluxe wand.

I have been using the Lovehoney deluxe for 4 years, it was one of my first purchases, but I had seen so many rave reviews on the Doxy that I gave in and purchased a pink one. This black Die Cast is much more aesthetically pleasing and looks a little glittery, but I couldn't get used to its slightly longer length and squishy head. Whilst I disliked the head of the Lovehoney Deluxe, as I found it hard to keep clean without using a toothbrush on the ridges, the Doxy Diecast with its firm silicone head has solved my issues and banished the other wands to the bottom of my toy box.

Being thrilled with the silicone head, the more I have used the Doxy Die Cast, the more I have become used to its longer length, it means there is more room to place my hands. Yes, the Die Cast is a lot heavier than the original Doxy or the Lovehoney Deluxe with their plastic bodies, as the Die Cast is made from aluminium and titanium, but even having rheumatoid arthritis and fibromyalgia (especially in my wrists and fingers), I've not encountered any issues because I can easily alternate my hands and in all honesty, I don't need to use it for longer than 5 minutes, it makes me climax so quickly. It also helps that there are no vibrations in the body, they are all in the head of the Doxy, compared again to the Lovehoney Deluxe, so my hands don't get tired quite as easily.

To control the Doxy Die Cast is so easy. The 3 buttons consist of a power on/off button and a + to increase power and - to decrease power. They glow a soft blue colour which is perfect for a darkened bedroom or dungeon. This feature isn't on the original Doxy and is a welcomed bonus. I much prefer having the buttons, compared to the scroll on the Lovehoney Deluxe, as it was much easier to accidentally alter the speed.

I must mention the added bonus of a pulse setting which you don't get on the Lovehoney deluxe and I often like to use pulsating vibrations on my rumbly vibrators. I tend to enjoy the teasing of pulses and can be less numbing than a constant vibration. To activate this setting, simply press the power button and + button together and the pulse will begin, the use the + and - to change the length of the pulse. Although the Doxy Die Cast has a memory function, it won't work if you power off when using the pulse.

When using the Doxy Die Cast, because it is top heavy I don't need to apply pressure and due to the intense vibrations I don't need to have it directly on my clit. Let me explain why: due to being a larger lady, I have quite chubby outer labia and my clit is hidden inside. With most toys, it's a case of trying to spread the labia enough to expose my clit. That's why I like my rabbit style vibrators as they can nestle inside the labia. With the Doxy, however, I don't need to do anything but place the head on my labia and let the vibrations do their work, the silicone head creates sufficient pressure. When I used to use the Lovehoney Deluxe I had to press quite hard to get the pleasuring rumbles I needed without exposing my clit.

The large head is great for stimulating more than just my clit, though. I love the vibrations on my vulva at the same time and the rumbles the Doxy produces turns my legs to jelly. I love how the rumbles penetrate through the whole of my body.

Due to having several medical conditions, the Doxy Die Cast is very handy when it comes to deep tissue body massage, especially when my partner is feeling too lazy to get the oils out! However, it doesn't take long to take the Doxy 'down town!'

Almost forgot to mention, I find that even when on full, the Doxy Die Cast is not overly loud, which is impressive. I can get away with using it if someone else is in the flat in a different room. The Lovehoney Deluxe seems ridiculously loud since having this.

The Doxy Die Cast is so easy to keep clean, I just spritz with sex toy cleaner and a damp cloth. I just need to remember to only use water-based lube, as anything else could spoil the silicone.

The only thing that has disappointed me is that it doesn't come with a storage case, so I'm currently trying to source one. At £139.99 it doesn't deserve to be just shoved in a box with my other toys.

Overall, I'm thrilled with the Doxy Extra Powerful Black Die Cast Massage Wand Vibrator LHUK, considering I have health issues, I've found it easy to use. The silicone head is what I am more than happy about. It's far more easier to clean, gives plenty of pressure and is body safe compared to PVC on other wands. I'm not sure I'd pay £139.99 but considering I have paid that for a couple of toys I own, the Doxy has been more value for money, as I can use it for massage too!

Thank you, Lovehoney, for giving me the opportunity to test the Doxy Extra Powerful Black Die Cast Massage Wand Vibrator LHUK.

    1. The most beautiful wand I've ever seen

Reviewed: 25 May 2016 by FrozenAngel, a Bisexual Going Steady Female

I felt like I’d won the sex toy lottery when I received the email to say that I’d be able to test this item for Lovehoney. I’m a massive fan of Doxy. I currently own both their Skittle and their standard Doxy wand, and I have been dying to get my hands on a Doxy Die Cast wand now for so long. So I was incredibly excited to receive the black version and to be able to compare it to the original Doxy. Let’s face it, there’s a relatively large price tag between the two, so I was curious to see if it was in fact worth it.

Unlike the original which has a plastic handle, the Die Cast is made from an aluminium and titanium alloy. The ‘shiny’ one is polished to give you that shining mirrored finish, and the black one is coated in a power, giving you that beautiful black glittering finish. It honestly reminds me somewhat of a night sky with hundreds of twinkling lights. The power can’t be felt either. The handle is incredibly smooth to the touch.

Whilst the original Doxy boasts a PVC head, the Doxy Die Cast has a beautiful velvety soft silicone head. I much prefer the silicone head to the PVC one. Not only is it more hygienic, hypoallergenic and easier to clean, it’s also pretty damn solid. For me this makes a huge difference in vibrations. They feel much stronger as the vibrations seem to travel through the silicone head far easier. The PVC head seems to dampen them slightly.

The two differences for me are perfect. The metal handle and silicone head makes the Die Cast a lot heavier than the original. Whilst some would argue that this makes it more difficult to hold for extended periods of time (and they’d be right), I’d also like to point out that for me at least, the heavier frame and head make both personal massage and erotic play much better.

The Doxy is top heavy, and with the added weight it means that I need to apply much less pressure on it when I want to massage a particular part on my body. For instance, when I’m giving myself a back massage, I lay on my tummy and put my arm over the opposite shoulder whilst holding the Doxy in my desired location. The extra weight pushes the head down more against my skin, meaning I don’t need to apply a serious amount of pressure, I can just let my arm rest on my shoulder blade and let the Doxy do most of the work. When I'm using the wand on my clitoris, though, I do find that my arm gets tired a lot quicker from holding it up.

The silicone head makes the Doxy much easier to clean. Using a damp cloth and spraying on some toy cleaner will do the trick nicely. It’s advised due to the head to use a good quality water-based lubricant as other lubricants may damage the head. I’ve found that the more lube the better. The wand is incredibly powerful and if used on the genitals without any lubricant the friction caused could hurt. I have found though that for body massages lubricant (for me) just wasn’t necessary.

Using the Doxy is so simple. On the handle there are three buttons: a power button, + button and a - button. The power button turns the Doxy on and off. I’ve found that this feature is pretty much instantaneous, which is handy if you need to switch it off quickly. The + button increases the speed and the - button decreases the speed. I’ve found that you can either press the button to increase or decrease the vibrations or you can keep the button held in for it to quickly scroll through the different speeds.

There is also a patterned vibration on the Doxy. However, I can’t really comment on that as I’m much more of a continuous vibrations person. Pressing the power button and the - button simultaneously will activate the patterned settings. You then just use the + or - button to increase/decrease the vibration strength.

Whilst in use the buttons will light up in a lovely shade of blue. I was so surprised by this as it wasn’t on the original Doxy at all. I have to say that I love this added feature. It makes using the Doxy in the night much better as I’m able to see the buttons more clearly. I also find the light quite soothing. It’s not harsh in the slightest and when using the Doxy for massage the soothing light seems to add to the ambiance of the room.

The Die Cast also has a memory function, so when the wand is switched back on it remembers the last speed that you used and it will then switch on from there. Personally I’d much prefer it to start on the lowest speed each time, as I much prefer to start on the lowest speed and build myself up to the highest. This function does come in handy, though, if you were interrupted and want to continue where you left off without messing around with the controls.

I’ve personally found the wand to be quite quiet. Now don’t get me wrong, it’s a wand, so by no means is it quiet. If you’re in a shared house and someone else is home, they are going to hear it. However, I just found the first two settings to be a lot quieter than my original Doxy. My original Doxy seems to rattle when in use whilst this one doesn’t.

The Die Cast black for me is almost perfect, almost. I don’t understand why it doesn’t come with a storage bag like the shiny version does. Considering the price I would expect this to be included. Granted, at the time of writing this it’s £10 cheaper than the shiny version, but still at the price I really did expect the case to be provided.

Other than the case, or lack thereof, I’ve found everything else about this wand brilliant. I love using it, and it’s been a godsend to me the past few weeks being used as a foot massager. On my injured foot it has felt incredible.

Over the years I’ve grown quite the collection of wands, all sorts of shapes and sizes, and hands down the Doxy Die Cast is by far the best of the lot. With its deep, thuddy rumbling vibrations, its sheer power and the fact that it’s bloody gorgeous, it really is a no brainer. The Doxy Die Cast would make an amazing addition to almost anyone’s toy box. Be it for orgasmic bliss or erotic pleasure, it truly is an investment worth making.

    1. Doxy Extra Powerful Black Die Cast Massage Wand Vibrator

Reviewed: 19 May 2016 by DavidB1986, a Gay Married Male

I am a long-time fan of Doxy. Well, I say long-time - I only experienced their style of wand massager around 15 months ago, but boy, was it a life-changing experience in the bedroom. It wasn't our first magic wand - however, it was the first one that truly made me see how wonderful and diverse these devices can truly be.

This particular version of the Doxy is exclusive to Lovehoney, and it is an absolute beauty. Words cannot honestly describe how amazing it looks in person, but I will absolutely do my best.

Unfortunately, unlike the original Die Cast, this version does not come in the cute little (perhaps little is the wrong word) case - instead, this Black version ships inside a standard Doxy box - which is an absolute shame as for the price you are paying for this, the case really should be included as standard.

The Black Die Cast is the same dimensions as the original Doxy Wand, with 2 key differences. Firstly, the body of the wand is made from a high-quality aluminium/titanium mix which is then highly polished. In the Black version, the finish is of an almost 'glittery, iridescent' sort of finish - like looking at millions of tiny little stars in a deep, dark night sky. And it really is shiny. I literally cannot stop picking it up and admiring it. The workmanship is flawless.

It features the same 3 button interface that's easy to use, and it glows a calming shade of blue, which makes it absolutely fun to use in a darkened room (and it's easy to see what buttons you're are pressing in the heat of the moment).

The second difference is the head of the wand - unlike the original, which was made from a soft, padded PVC - the Die Cast features a smooth silicone-coated head (Yes! Finally!). This means it is completely body-safe and non-porous. This also gives the vibrations coming from the Doxy a slightly different feel.

On the lower settings, the Doxy is still incredibly rumbly, and I'm inclined to say that they feel almost rumblier, and I think that is in part to the slightly heavier body (830g) along with the firmer silicone head. The vibrations just feel like they are penetrating just a little bit deeper. When used to stimulate and massage the frenulum and the penis, once again, the Die Cast delivered a deeply satisfying, yet extremely quick orgasm. I didn't need to take it all the way up to the top speed.

Speaking of top speeds, the Doxy, like all other magic wand vibrators, tends to get a little bit buzzier the higher you go, however, here I didn't really mind so much. It was a buzz that didn't really feel like it was off-putting or irritating - however, as I have recently discovered - when it comes to external stimulation, buzziness isn't a problem.

It's brilliant again for all over massage, and you can use oils without fear of potentially ruining the cap. All attachments we have for the original Doxy still fit on this as well, and this means that I am able to indulge in dual Doxy play - seriously, 2 Doxys with an internal attachment and a masturbation cup attachment leads to one awesome amazing mega orgasm session. Seriously, try it.

You get a super-long cable as well, so no matter where your outlets are, you should have plenty of wriggle room, and clean-up afterwards is a breeze - although do not submerge your Doxy - it's not waterproof! But a wipe over a bit of toy cleaner and a damp cloth will be absolutely sufficient.

Of course, for some, the Die Cast may not be right - it is heavier (830g) than most wands, so if you find your hands or wrists tire easily the extra weight might be an issue. It's also a lot more expensive than the original - but, you get what you pay for - it feels like a sturdy, well-built piece of kit. If you are serious about your wands, then this is the cream of the crop.

I just wish that the storage case came with this one, a work of art like this needs to be stored properly and safely - you do not want to damage the finish on this!

      Pros
It's weightier design makes vibes feel stronger, looks absolutely gorgeous.
      Cons
No storage case, pricier than a normal Doxy.
      Bottom line
For me, it's the ultimate magic wand vibrator. I am completely besotted.
