    1. Much like Christmas itself, best enjoyed while festively tipsy

Reviewed: 28 October 2014 by sleepycelia

I was sent these as a tester from Lovehoney. Thank you!

I'm not that into Christmas, really - it seems to come around far too quickly and I don't like carols or mulled wine or hideous festive TV ads. I'm a bit of a grinch, honestly. But I do like pasties and cake and all things kitsch, so I was pretty happy when I got an email telling me I'd be testing them out!

The packaging's alright; it's a small, flat plastic box with a slightly cheap looking graphic of a semi-naked lady on it. Not exactly classy but not hideous, either. The pasties themselves don't come with any adhesive strips, which is a little irritating as most of the cheaper ones seem to nowadays, so you'll need to get yourself some body tape or eyelash glue if you don't have some already.

In terms of quality, they're just okay. There's a gap in mine where the pasties are sculpted outwards - the sequins don't cover this and you can see a tiny sliver of brown netting on top of white card, and the felt 'icing' and holly sprigs are wonkily pasted on. The lining of each pastie feels like a smooth faux leather, and they've been cut out in a jagged heart shape with the white icing peeping over the top - overall, it's not great but I can't say I expected much more from a pair of £6 sequin nipple covers in the shape of Christmas puddings.

Putting the pasties on was easy enough - I use eyelash glue, which I prefer to body tape - but I wish they had a little more flex to them as they're quite rigid, which causes them to jut out from my chest a bit, and makes them slightly more difficult to attach than softer ones. They do catch the light quite nicely, and when I came out with them on my partner immediately started laughing, which, er, may or may not be the effect you're looking for. Personally, I think I looked both festive and fetching with puddings covering my nipples...despite it not being Halloween yet.

Overall, they do have some issues with the build quality and they're definitely not built to last but for what they are - a cheap, cute, silly gift - they're pretty good. Me and my partner both thought they were sweet and they held up pretty well, surprisingly, they might not be the most luxurious pasties I've ever tried out but they were more sturdy than I thought they'd be, and I guess if my Halloween costume plans fall through I can always go as a sexy Christmas pudding.

      7 out of 10 stars
Cute, silly, inexpensive. Potential for sexy Christmas pudding outfit.
Quality issues, I wish they came with adhesive.
      Bottom line
A sweet treat for under a tenner.

    1. Amusing but not very sexy

Reviewed: 08 January 2015 by jesscat, a Gay Married Female

First off, this product has, as always, fantastic packaging. It's always discreet and keeps the product well protected.

The pasties themselves are to be taken with a little light-heartedness. They aren't bad quality for a cheaper item. However I personally wouldn't have minded paying a little more for them to come with an adhesive.

The material is a little too rigid for me, but if that's what you're looking for, go for it!

    2. Overall Rating:
      6 out of 10 stars
      Fun and well presented.
      Too rigid.
      Bottom line
      Good, but would like adhesive.

    1. Cheap, cheerful, Christmasy fun

Reviewed: 27 October 2014 by Sapiosexual, a Bisexual Married Female

They come packaged in a clear plastic box with a colourful card backing that they're presented on. This is really useful as they are probably going to spend 11 months of the year in a drawer waiting for December, so having somewhere to store them is good.

The shape of them is formed, as with other pasties, by a single pudding shaped piece of material with a slit in, and the edges are overlapped to form a shallow cone shape. On one of the ones I received, the join is really visible on the outside, which marrs the appearance and makes them look slightly rough and unfinished. The point of the cone is also really low on the pudding, rather than in the middle, so it won't sit centrally over the nipple. That said, the sequins seem really firmly attached and they feel pretty sturdy, so if they're put away in a drawer until next year, I doubt I'll come back to find they've shed everywhere.

Because of the odd placing of the point, they don't fit flush against the nipple very well (but with decent tape they don't need to). They are big enough though, that they will cover most people's nipples completely.

They come with two strips of tit tape to hold them on. These need to be cut down to size, presumably with the idea of cutting them up for several uses. However, they are loose in the packet, and I nearly lost them as they just slid out as I was opening it, and I didn't realise what they were. Once they were on, they were held very securely and didn't feel like they were going to fall off. If you are planning on several uses, though, I would recommend getting some eyelash glue or the stuff fancy dress shops sell for gluing ears and things on.

The appeal of these is very definitely the novelty value. They're fun, sparkly, and silly. My partner had to duck out of the room laughing when I was wearing them. Although I wouldn't rate them highly, they're cheap and would make an amusing stocking filler or secret Santa present.

    2. Overall Rating:
      6 out of 10 stars
      The novelty factor.
Not terribly well finished, untidy looking.
      Bottom line
Not great, but cheap and amusing.
