    1. Man, it feels like a women! Do, do do do etc...

Reviewed: 05 July 2010 by WandA, a Straight Engaged Male

I had been keen to try an Astroglide lube for a while – it is a major US brand I have heard good things about. The many LH reviews about other Astroglide products only served to arouse my curiosity.

The packaging and discreet, speedy postage was spot-on as ever.

The lube arrives packaged in a card box with the standard info on about directions, ingredients and other bits. The actual bottle is a contoured clear bottle with purple lid. It isn't exactly flashy but it does provide useful information and fits in with the natural theme of the product. The box lists some ingredients that this lube is free from: glycerine, alcohol, fragrance, flavourings and hormones. This makes the product good for those ladies sensitive to some other products. The ingredients listed on the box are generally things I have heard of before, such as aloe and xylitol. Although I don't suffer from excessively sensitive skin, my partner has been advised to only use sensitive skin products. This worked well with no irritation.

As for the actual product, well we found it excellent. The taste and smell were pleasant (strangely it tastes slightly of Calpol, God I could drink that stuff!). There was no strong aftertaste and I believe the makers have found a good balance between creating too strong a flavour and leaving the product flavourless (which reminds me of cold spit, ick). The lube is also perfectly clear unlike some cloudy or pearled lubes on the market.

At first this stuck me as simply a pleasant lube playing on another gimmick by being natural. I was however surprised by just how bloody good it was! I am naturally a critical person so this was no mean feat! It is by far the most natural lube I have used in simulating a women's natural lubrication. It is slightly more slippy than natural lubrication but that is to the benefit of the product. The lube is has a lovely silky texture and is quite viscous by some other lube standards. This lube is also non-sticky, a claim the box makes, and it also washes off really easily. It is water-based, so no stained bed linen.

One problem that often accompanies water-based lube is their quick drying time compared to silicone-based lube. It does dry out quicker than some other types, but I have had water-based lubes that dry out much quicker. This isn't actually a problem as such as water based lubes can simply be reactivated with some water and are as good as new.

Now we come to the negatives... It is a small bottle and it is expensive. It does go a long way for its size given its excellent silky properties and 'runniness', but I personally couldn't/wouldn't spend that much on a lube. For those looking for an excellent lube, I would wholeheartedly suggest this one to anyone if they could afford it. I really do want to make it clear that this 'failing' is on my account, not the product’s.

We found this lube excellent for both solo play with a partner. We unfortunately cannot comment on its anal effectiveness! Seeing as so many people reading reviews simply skip over most parts except for the beginning and end I would like to reinforce the natural element of this product. It really was the most natural-feeling lube we have used and it was refreshing to use a lube that appears to lack potentially harmful ingredients. The quality is evident in this product, shame it reflects in the price.

    1. This is great stuff

Like stated above, it doesn't irritate, but it also doesn't last very long. We did need to re-apply it a few times but it feels great.

You can rest easy knowing a weird rash isn't going to develop, and it won't send your crotch ablaze... :-p Try it out!
