I got these as a gift, having never used anal beads before, although a firm fan of all things anal. Whilst I'm not all that keen on them now, they have given me some good times, and at the very least have let me see exactly what I do (and don't!) want from any upgrade purchases.

Visually, they're rather cheap and tacky looking, although at the same time they're rather inoffensive. Plus, I'm not that keen on the pink, personally. They are a lot more solid than they look, almost like little hard ping-pong balls, but the 'string' is very flexible. My major issue with them is the seam running all around. Now, I've used them a fair amount, and never found myself getting painfully scratched, but once or twice I've found a small bit of flesh or blood caught on these seams, especially higher up, much like you'd get if you grazed your hand with a fingernail. It's nothing to be overly concerned about, as I've never even felt a mild scratch, so it may be that it's just catching loose elements rather than nicking anything, but just knowing that they're there does limit my enjoyment somewhat, as I'm constantly waiting for the time I feel pain.

Aside from that, my only issues are personal preferences. As a bit of a shorty-pants - 5'3" - I find the 10.5 inches is pretty much my limit, and despite the flexible nature of the string, I have to keep shifting position to 'stretch' myself so I can take the length. It's not too big, just riding that limit, so anyone who's average or above should have no issues, but if you're likewise a little vertically challenged, something slightly shorter might be a less awkward fit. I also find them a little too small in the other direction, although I am used to using toys with a decent amount of girth. I was impressed with how smoothly the beads were graduated, as I could barely tell a difference in size as they went in, each being that close in size to the previous.

I am casting my eye about for something that would suit me better: shorter, fatter, and with a bit of a finer finish. But, all faults considered, these are a great starter set, especially if you've never dabbled in anal pleasures before. They're well sized (unless you're especially short), painless to use, safe, and a good introduction to anal beads, at a price that's worth taking a shot on. I'm happy I got them, even if I am ready to trade them in.
