I first heard someone raving about Astroglide in a podcast, so it was probably one of the lovely people from Sex is Fun.

Anyway, the hype is completely justified. The gel is thick, but not too sticky, it doesn't taste foul, it's virtually odourless, and does whatever it's supposed to do (helping you get on with more interesting things) while helping you forget it's there.

I can't imagine switching to any other lube any time soon.

Astroglide personal lubricant gel is a thicker formula lube, than other products in the Astroglide line.

I, myself, prefer water based lubricants, they seem to be less messy than the silicone kind and much more delicate on my female parts.

This Gel lubricant is water based, water soluble, pH balanced and it is safe to use with condoms.

The Astroglide Gel provides a more exhilarating experience, than your average water based lubricants. Upon first contact of the gel to skin, you can immediately see its thickness. I realised pretty quickly that you on really needed a small drop of this lube, due to its thickness. It does go a long way, when using it.

During use, it seems to warm up quicker than other water based lubricants, this isn't an issue at all. In fact it feels good, a bit of temperature play is nothing to complain about!

It's a clear colouration, with no smell and no taste that I could think of but if I had to compare it, I would suggest that, it simply tastes of water. There is no bad aftertaste or lingering smell. However, if you use a little bit too much, it does leave a rather horrid sticky residue. Even using a small drop can leave your hands feeling a little sticky but then as a thicker gel, I think it is something to be expected.

The personal lubricant that I was provided with, comes in a white/reddish and purple casing. On the front of the package you are provided with the product's details and on the reverse, you are provided with a small paragraph of the product, directions, ingredients and warning that this product is not a spermicide or contraceptive. Although the mind does boggle as to why people would think that a lubricant is a form of contraceptive!

For 4 fl.oz, the RRP is £9.99 GBPs. Is this price worth digging into your purse for? I would say so, used sparingly, this lube can last you a good while. It's tasteless, odourless and pretty much a good all rounder (putting aside the sticky residue). The fact that it is condom safe, is a bonus too.

This lube is a nice alternative to silicone lubricants.

Overall, I was pretty impressed by the Astroglide personal lubricant gel and would recommend this lube to anyone who was after something a little different than your average water-based lubricant, even though it can leave sticky traces. Don't worry though, it is very easy to wash off with water.

Packaging

Just a simple tube, easy to open, easy to use, easy to store, not gonna look to bad on the side in the bedroom.

Feel and Texture

This is much thicker than most water based lubes with this been a gel, a little really does go a very long way, it feels nice to the touch.

Lasting

This lube is long lasting, certainly one of the longest lasting water based lubes that we have tried, I think this is due to its thickness.

Taste

Unlike some lubes the taste isn't too bad, it tastes sweet, it's not flavoured but at the same time it doesn't have that soapy taste that some lubes seem to have.

Overall

Overall this is a lovely lube, easy to use and store, worth the money, something that we will use over and over again.
