I figured this was the best place to reach out on behaf of my OH. We had that conversation one night where you always seem to be apprehensive about, not knowing what to expect from the other but realised that we were both totally open about them and just as curious the other.

We're both fairly new to the toy scene but we tried a few things like plugs, a rabbit and vibrating eggs. However for my OH so far anything that vibrates has been anything other than a dissapointment. Not the eggs nor a rabbit vibrator or a vibrating cock ring or a bullet, which according to most reviews on each of them are so much fun have been able to get her past much more than a sparese tickle and utter boredom. We're beginning to wonder if it's just us or if we're 'doing it wrong' or if it's our own wiring that isn't compatible with toys ...

Is anyone out there in the same boat? Any suggestions on what we can give a go to see if it does work for us?

If she's only experiencing a tickle, the toys you've selected are probably not strong enough for her or have the wrong sort of vibration frequency. Could you link to a few that you've tried and we may be able to suggest something with more intensity?

As NatandTom have said, it could be that the type of vibrations aren't right for her. If you've tried "buzzy" vibes, they could be numbing her. Most people who really like vibrations, prefer deep rumbly vibrations that tend to be associated with mid-to-top end toys and things like wands.

Then again though, not everyone likes vibrations (me included!) so it may just not be her bag.

If that's the case, go for manual massage toys like dildos, or maybe try something like e-stim?

I mention this in point three of this guide

Personally, rabbit vibrators do nothing for me...total 'meh'...I find a mains powered wand and a multi-speed g spot vibe much more effective. I really do think it's the power of the vibes that does it.

I cant get the hang of eggs, or anything that vibrates inside. I just cant feel them. I love the idea of remote control ones where your partner can surprise you but having tried them before I didnt even notice when he'd turn it on!

I do use this one https://www.lovehoney.co.uk/product.cfm?p=33566 but I hold it on my clit.

Vibes are a quirky thing. Too little you mays as well not bother and too much it kills the feeling and I just go numb. Even a variable speed wand can kill the mood.

I hope you can find a toy you both enjoy soon.

I'm in the same boat as WG - eggs and such seem to do very little for me. I can feel them, it's just not a sexy sensation.

Tbh I met just one rabbit, which did it to me. Generally rabbits are hit or miss. My personal advice would be to try different type of toys. Toys strenght varies on perspective and lot of the cheaper vibrators have vibrations which dont do much to me.

Owning just few toys does not reflect that no toys will not work. But not all toys suit all women, and trust me, I disliked toys most women Loved. I felt bit weird until I realized I just like something else than they do!

Wifey has had a number of good vibrating toys over the years, but in July I bought her this

https://www.lovehoney.co.uk/product.cfm?p=36927 Unfortunately this particular model has been discontinued. But she says this by far the best vibrating toy that she has ever had.

The new model is much more expensive, but if you can afford it, it is well worth the cost.
