Poor You Laveila. :( * big hugs *

Have you been tested for other bacterial things? Maybe it isnt Thrush?? I had a friend who was like that and was told to cut out yeast from her diet and she says she feels great.

Personally I would get tested, my GUM clinic actually did more than my GP as she tested me fully for everything all came back clean but she her hunch that so many Thrush and UTI outbreaks had led to PID. The medication worked and I felt much better :) which was great as I was at my wits ends!

Just a thought as it could be something more.

Have you tried natural yogurt on tampons? maybe your body has become immune to the medications?

Thanks for the hug, really need it *hugs back*

I got tested in my home country, but because I was fine after the treatment there I do not know the results, but I guess they would tell me if there was a serious problem I would have to ask my mom to call the doctor (she has the same doctor, so I would have to hope he would give it to her) or ask a university GP which I intent to visit. But the thing I took in my home country was designed to kill yeast/trush/bacteria... And I was on antibiotics - vaginal antibiotics combined with yeast etc treatment, which was supposed to kill it, because he suspected potential mix of things. The thing is all threatment seems to work until next period when my hormonal levels go up, so it looks like it does not kill everything in me and thats why its coming back. I was told hormones (my huge problem), stress (recently suffered that as well) provide great oportunity for this to happen. And I am getting the very classical yeast infection symptoms - slight burning, vaginal discharge looking exactly as discribed in any symptones descriptions.

My problem is I am not UK citizen. I am only full time EU student, which makes me worried. I have travel insurance from my home country, which should cover it, still very worried about the costs.

And not sure about imunity. My last problem like this was actually about 7 years ago, when I was 18 (had one at 16 and then 18 and nothing since, until this). It cannot be chlamydia, etc, because both me and my partner were tested before starting to have sex together and both were declared clear of any sexually transmited ilness (although yeast infection is in this category as well, because your partner can pass it potentially back) and we are faithful to each other, we were even when friends with benefits, potential health risk one of the reasons for being so back then. He is understanding, but yes, it is not easy for either of us right now. I havent tried natural yogurt on tampoons, thanks for that tip, I may do that, worth a try,but I cut down all sugar, salt and even spice (miss spices). So far not much working.

I think GUM clinics are free for students no matter if you are EU or not... if its thrush they will treat you for that too!!

I would get tested for everything regardless of past results as well you can't go on being in pain etc.

Well, its mainly irritation, no pain from the infection - the mestruation pain is something I have been suffering from since I was about 13-14 and there is no result for that apart from hormonal problems and as I cannot be treater hormonally because my body reacts really badly to that (yes, meaning if I cannot have kids naturally I can completely forget any hormonal treatments), I am counted as one of those they cannot help apart from painkillers and when I change places it is normal for me to feel the pain, as my periods just becomes irregular - I can go on without having it for 2 months and all 2 months being in mild-middle strong pain due to hormonal problems. SO I am not expecting to get any help on that, but need to get rid of the vaginal problem. I will try the GP if the balancing treatment I still got from my home country does not help, thanks for the info it should be free. I will ask my doctor to confirm it and to see what he can do (havent seen him for years, as I only had 1 health issue since coming here).

Seems to get better, well, every time I get it seems to get slightly milder. maybe a good sign. Still miss our sex life and it has been about a week (last time was last Wednesday).

Also I found that before you see your doctor, there is a good chance, that baby oil will help to ease the outer symptons. Good to know when its weekend/evening and you need fast relief.

It worked for me like wonders, it took it away. I did not have anything else and decided to give it a go. It shouldnt be really irritating, as it is used for small babies. And I think it sort of put on cotton wool pads like I use for face care cleaned me better than the water did. Really could feel relief. And no irritation. I should add it was baby oil designed for cleaning the baby, not like bath baby oil etc.

GUM clinics are free for absolutely everyone, and confidential. Even if you were in the UK illegally you could visit one with no questions asked.

Someone has probably already said but there is a more expensive alternative to cannestaan which I have to have when I have thrush. The doc doesn't like to give it to me but I'm allergic to cannestaan so have to have - most uselessly I can't remember the name!! Don't hat me but I rarely get it these days - when i was younger (18 - 26) I used to suffer bad from it :( but i put that down to me and my ways at the time. I used to get it off a particular toy (not from Lh) becoz it was soooo hard to clean :( but that's gone now and as long as I keep clean, use non perfume shower gel I'm ok - fingers crossed I haven't tempted fate for myself!!!!

Not much use was I, sorry -hope you're getting it sorted ok. Maybe your local sexual health clinic can help? They were great with sorting my pmt, bit diff I know but maybe worth a try? Good luck,D69x

Oooh D69 will have to look into that. I've been really bad the last few days, I think its linked to my depression playing up.

Odd Q, but does anyone else "swell" when they have thrush? I have been sooooo itchy... plenty of sudo and canesten... will have to find the stronger alternative.

Also started 3 days of UTI antibiotics to see if that helps as I think i've ignored a UTI :-/ talking of falling apart!

GO! they were REALLY nice and sorted me good and proper. My local clinic was in the basement of the fancy swimming pool in town which wierded me out at first! That aside they were great! WAY better than docs/nurses, they know their subject! That was afew yrs ago, I was told I may have bi-polar by a doctor who got off on making her patients cry! ( I lodged a complaint against her and for some reason I got told this) I was SOOO upset but when I went to the clinic i was told I certainly didn't fit that criterea and it was PMT. Which is good becoz now i'm AOK I do get abit jittery still but totally mild compared to what I was like.

(i just want to say I haven't anything against poeple suffering bi-polar, what I do have a problem with is doctors getting things wrong & not listening to their patients, esp when they are meant to be a specialist in that field! Grrrr rant over)

Good luck with it occhiverdi :)x

Thanks, oh its the first time the depression has flared up in about 10 years! its odd really. The thrush at the moment is just really bad ... im so swollen... going down now though as I took my meds for Thrush and UTI!.. i do think they are linked :)

I love my GUM clinic, so much more in the know. I was in pain for about a year and the doc told me it was this, that and the other.... one visit to the GUM and I was treated for non STI PID... apparently so many outbreaks of thrush and UTI had led to it!

I did read somewhere that thrush can cause your body and mind to feel depressed, not 100% sure though.

Interesting, I think its all linked in some way. I am so uncomfortable at the moment... i'm depending on sudo cream... (gorgeous image). I'm starting to wonder if my constant thrush is linked to the fact I squirt.

OMG - do you think? Would explain why I was getting it after using my old, now deceased, rabbit. Ummmm, I'd love to know what the answer is to that - if you ask! Very interesting indeedy. Will one of them cushions with hole in middle help (duno name but for piles i think)?

Well I squirt during sex... and OH keeps going, so its pushing it back in really... and sometimes its not always squirt.. it can be a little bit of urine mixed in.... its just a thought... as i've never been so hassled by them since I realised I could squirt. !

I'm not sure if this has been suggested but after looking on sites such as boots I've found creams/ gels to help lower your ph and stop it recurring so often: http://www.boots.com/en/Bio-Fem-Instant-Actigel-50ml_7754/

Sorry I keep posting bits here and there, I just keep remembering things. I'm not sure if it's been mentioned but garlic can help as it's an antifungal. Last nioght I found a few sites that suggested attaching a clove of garlic to some string and then inserting it. I personally am not sure if I'd be up for doing that though but it made me remember. A few years ago a male friend got thrush and his doctor suggested he took garlic tablets along side the percription.
