I'm wondering if there's a gap in the 'porn' market

Most professional porn is too fake, no plot, and once the sex starts it frankly often gets boring and goes on for ages

If you watch a normal TV/movie then it always cuts away as soon as the sex starts

I'd love to have a 30 min show that's a light hearted comedy where the plot always includes a few sex scenes of 5-10 mins each (just the right length I think)

Would be great for evening telly watching with a partner to help get in the mood

    What do others think?

I agree, only I'd prefer a thriller/crime show (which would probably have to be a bit longer than 30 minutes)... Something like Bound (wonderful fim, by the way, and fairly explicit for mainstream cinema) with a bit more sex. (Btw. I bought Stockholm Syndrome because of its great trailer. Unfortunately the movie corresponds exactly to steve81's description: Minimum plot and huge amounts of enormously boring sex - even at 32x fast-forward ist's still too long.)

But a sexy comedy would be okay as well...

Porn has plenty of parody movies which have quite a few funny moments. But in reality the world of porn is now a fast paced industry where each studio is trying to produce as much as possible before it slowly dies due to streaming sites and all the amateur websites which have appeared in recent times.
But you can find multiple tv shows with plenty of sex in them, for example you have:
    Suits
    Sons of anarchy
    Broad city
    Orange is the new black
    Girls (HBO)

Most people aren’t really into watching porn for a plot line, it’s just a few minutes to get yourself off or set the mood with a partner ... if your both into it. Porn for the new generation is fast and explicit, the more extreme the models are willing to be the more money they get.

I know exactly what you mean. I love that kind of thing; short movies and stuff. It's a real shame that it's so rare and hard to find.

Lust Cinema has decent story lines, maybe not too much around comedy.

X-Art has high quality video productions (not over the top fake, and some real good scenes) but minimal to no story lines.

The combo of the 2 usually meets requirements for both of us and I can recommend subscriptions to those sites.

But the industry only needs to be worried about amateur websites because its productions are so abysmally bad! Mainstream cinema and tv still produces character drama, romcoms and sitcoms, without being afraid of amateur productions or that people might simply watch what's going on around them...

I'm currently having a look at some of Candida Royalle's and Petra Joy's work - from the descriptions and trailers it looks interesting...

To come back to the OP's question: After watching the making-ofs to a few porn movies I'm convinced that "good porn" won't happen any time soon.

Porn productions don't have the actors, budgets or schecules to produce good movies in the mainstream sense. Remove the sex from Stagnetti's Revenge and it becomes a contender for worst movie ever (so bad it becomes good...). It's lauded as "the biggest adult production ever" - they shot for 25 days and built a ship's deck for a set. But tthe filming of Master and Commander took something like 16 weeks, they built the better part of a ship and set it on a gimbal in a tank, spent 10 days at sea on a true replica ship and used some actual footage from another replica ship sailing around Cape Horn. Whereas a "normal", classy looking porn movie like Petra Joy's The Female Voyeur took 4 days and Candida Royalle's Under the Covers only 2, if I remember correctly.

"Under the Covers" is somewhat funny, by the way, as is "One Size Fits All", also by Candida Royalle (the guys in the latter are more my type) (and both DVDs can be bought quite cheaply right now).

By the way (not very related question): What's sexy about white slime on bodies? I understand that ejaculate comes with the activity - but are spit and vomit really necessary? Okay, to be fair, Joone cut the vomit out of the film and kept it for the blooper reel, but spitting seems to be considered a desired activity...

I agree, I found the few porn films I watched when I was younger were rubbish, low budget, awful quality. Vomit & spit are a real turn off for me.

Sex is natural and one of the great pleasures of life, whether in a realtionship or just recreationally, it so it's odd that it doesn't feature more in mainstream films. Hopefully we are all becoming less puritanical and there will be more real sex as part of the plot in the future.

Agree that porn is almost always totally artificial, 'unreal' people with amazing bodies and incredible stamina acting badly - and always ending in massive cumshots! We watch porn together occasionally and prefer home-made videos of real people acting naturally, preferably with more than two involved, and no pull-outs. She used to enjoy Candida Royalle's stuff once, does anyone know of modern female-friendly erotica? .

There is a tv series call Submission that was aired in America, but never made it to the UK as far as I know. That’s worth a look. Pretty hot stuff, mixed in with a good story line.

A slight departure from the topic but for people interested in why the porn industry is like it is I would recommend a listen to the butterfly effect by Jon ronson. It was free on audible recently but not sure now. It was fascinating.

I think the huge change in poem even from the 00s is our lives are so much more fast pace and we need everything done instantly. Recently Iv found porn to be almost a turn off with the same ole boring routine and it would be great to see something new and fresh.

Thanks for the recommendation colonel I’m downloading it now, just need to watch the volume if I’m stuck In traffic ha
