Just read a headline in the Sunday Express stating 'Sex doll WARNING as robot watchdog says UK must restrict and even ban imports'. Admittedly there is a genuine worry about these dolls appearing to represent women under the legal age for sex and this should most definitely be banned. But to try to stop the advance of sex toys used by the majority of users on this site would be an infringement of our rights to pursue what is after all a quite legal activity. It is almost inevitable that the silicone doll will become an electronic, motorised and more lifelike robot in much the same way as the very unreal looking inflatable doll has advanced to the more realistic looking silicone doll. So what happends next?: ban all sex dolls, ban all sex toys, ban masturbation, ban sex? What do you think?

Whenever someone mentions sex robots, I can't help but think of Futurama... the one where Fry gets a Lucy Liu bot.

I don't think so. I have seen a few so-called 'sex robots' and they had very prepubescent faces/bodies so I can see the need to ban them from being sold here. If the dolls look like adults then I don't think there should be any issues. The uk does seem to be getting stricter on sex and porn at the moment though so who knows

My view on this is that I can see the rationale for tighter controls . I think its more to do with what the robot repersents and may be seen as a catalyst to more serious exploitation of underage sex. So to stop it now would seem logical .

I understand tightening regulations on sex dolls and robots. Some do not look the age of consent and that is illegal in the UK but not worldwide. I feel very little miss rule book but that is a rule I approve of as it can be a gateway to a darker area. Having these regulations in place means we can continue to have these sex dolls and robots without having a blanket ban spoiling it for everyone.
