    Hi,

Myself and my boyfriend have been together for a year. Neither of us have ever done anal before and want to start by easing ourself in with a toy - nothing too intimidating, something quite slim. What would you guys reccommend?

    I was looking at - https://www.lovehoney.co.uk/product.cfm?p=33966

    or - https://www.lovehoney.co.uk/product.cfm?p=35504

    or - https://www.lovehoney.co.uk/product.cfm?p=17698

Would the vibrating sensation be too much for a first time? If I was to buy a vibrating toy then I'd probably use it without vibration initially. Do you think the size of these toys are too much for a first time?

    Any advice welcome!

Hi! Sounds like you guys have thought about it a lot and have some good ideas about what you might like to try.

My personal choice out of those products would be this one:

    https://www.lovehoney.co.uk/product.cfm?p=37825

Because I think silicone is the best material for beginners to anal play (it being soft and flexible and also non porus so you can sterilize it properly, particularly important if you intend on sharing toys).

The other silicone ones are only splash proof, not water proof. Personally I wouldn't be comfortable with an anal toy I couldn't submerge in water for a thorough clean.

Another popular beginners toy is this one:
    https://www.lovehoney.co.uk/product.cfm?p=16665

Which I have, its a but trickier to insert but is very comfortable once its in.

I think you should be okay with gentle vibrations, I actually find they help to relax my anal muscles. This is my favorite vibrating anal toy (although its not meant for prostate stimulation if that's what you're after):

    https://www.lovehoney.co.uk/product.cfm?p=37527

I like it because it is silicone so its soft and easy to insert and the vibrations feel really good around the anus and perinium.

I think any of these products are small enough for a beginner.

Remember when trying any anal toy for the first time, use loads of thick water based lube (lovehoney's anal one is good), relax and don't force it.

    Hope you have fun!

Thank you for your reply! I've decided on the System JO H2O Water-Based Anal Lubricant 120ml as it was recommened to me by a guy in Ann Summers.

The link to your chosen one came back to a corsette by mistake I think - which one would you have chose?

Are you set on something beaded (all the links in the original post are beaded toys)?

    If not, I'd recommend

    https://www.lovehoney.co.uk/product.cfm?p=30704

I'd definitely recommend silicone as a material. Happy shopping!!

Whoops, sorry about that, I copyed the corset for the "what's new that you love thread" and thought I'd copied a new link for you but it obs didn't work haha. It was the LH silicone anal beads: https://www.lovehoney.co.uk/product.cfm?p=35504 The plug sex squid recommended also looks great for a beginner. I had the Cupid's itty bitty one but I wouldn't recommend it because it likes to pop out (perhaps a little too itty bitty), the LH slim ones look like they'd be a lot better.

I just had a quick look at silicone beginners anal toys, and these caught my eye as something you might like based on the options you suggested:

    https://www.lovehoney.co.uk/product.cfm?p=35190

They are silicone and they vibrate and these ones are fully waterproof so you can sterelize them properly and share them if you want to.

I've not tried them but the reviews look pretty positive.

I definitely recommend butt plugs to begin with. These can be worn during vaginal sex. The sensation is rather excellent! I recommend this

    https://www.lovehoney.co.uk/product.cfm?p=35726

A little pricey yes, but because 1. body safe material 2. easy clean 3. will last a long time 4. it is pretty 5. petite

Read through the reivews on particular toys you're interested in too.

I would also recommend a plug over beads for a beginner, mostly because a plug is easier to insert and will give you an idea of whether you enjoy anal stimulation.

Like the one Jezebella linked, there are a few good beginners sized ones for a good price for you to dip your toe in the water with.

I also wholehearedly agree with SquirtyPandas choice, I love me a gem butt plug The steel, the sparkle, the look on his face when you bend over to revel a bejewlled butt.....

For your man I would go with the booty buddy, also recommended by Jezebella. In fact I'll be ordering my Mr one too for his first time....

    Have fun x

I started experimenting with anal using with beads, Lovehoney do a great set of silicone ones for beginners.

But it's interesting that a couple of other members have suggest starting with a plug - I'm yet to try one as I assumed he'd be harder to get in as they tend to be bigger? So I think I'm going to try the Cupid's Itty Bitty Beginner's Butt Plug: https://www.lovehoney.co.uk/product.cfm?p=16479

Looks cute and not too intimidating! And there's an offer on it at the moment; it's in the 'buy 2 for £15' range so you could try that one, plus one of the Ines mentioned above if they're in the same range. Enjoy - and let us have a review once you've tried something! 😃👍🏼

    Hiya.
I've a few anal toys but always go back to my first/favourite. It's just a good size and really comfy for extended use. OH had never tried anal but wanted to try and she also enjoys it. https://www.lovehoney.co.uk/product.cfm?p=8582

I'd probs recommend some kind of plug/prostate massager as you'll get more stimulation out of those than with the beads I think.

I'd definately recommend some nice butt plugs for anal beginners. They aren't too intimidating and once in place they give you a very nice full feeling and can be left in during vaginal sex and pulled out whenever you are ready to give anal a try. Remember plenty of lube too. Having a plug in for a while will really ease you in to full anal sex too, makes it so much more enjoyable x

Some great great advice already given. I'd always recommend lots and lots of good lube and nothing more than gloved fingers to start anal play.

I like to call it anal trading. Just get used to having a finger in your ass . take your time weeks or months. Allowing your ass to get used the sensation of having something in it.

Build up to to finger by learning to relax the sphincters muscles. They are some of the strongest in the human body and if your tense or not relaxed . its far more difficult to insert any thing and will feel very uncomfortable in deed. This is why so many people can't get beyond this point and say it hurts to much. Relaxation is the key.

Once you have 2 fingers in you can start to stretch the sphincter. Stretching it getting used to being opened. Working with your partner to breath and relax to allow a little more girth and depth each time.

    Good luck and enjoy.

Well I guess I must have been very lucky or just subconsciously always wanted anal because I have never had an issue receiving toys or my man. My absolute favourite is my inflatable plug.

I can appreciate though that if your mind is not fully accepting of the act then it is likely that your body could reject it.

You have got some fantastic advise and suggestions above - enjoy xxx

Both of us are male - we are a gay couple. We're reluctant to use fingers as we're both a little weirded out by it 😂 So I thought I'd go for something 'finger sized' in circumfrance, which is why I chose https://www.lovehoney.co.uk/product.cfm?p=17698

I intend on just using it to get used to the sensation, so maybe without thee vibrations at first. Also, ive chosen https://www.lovehoney.co.uk/product.cfm?p=34768 as a lube.

What do you think? Order has been dispatched... slightly nervous!

I decided against butt plugs, as someone else said, they're all rather large for a beginner I feel.

The lube looks great. Hope you enjoy your new toy!

If you find you don't quite get on with it, don't worry though, you can return it for up to a year and try something different. Don't let it put you off anal play alltogether.

If you do decide you'd like a plug as your next toy LH do a really small one made of silcone you might not find too intimiating:

    https://www.lovehoney.co.uk/product.cfm?p=33939

Also I still recommend this one, it's got loads of good reviews and is angled to hit the prostate, something you and your partner might find enjoyable (I knew you were a male couple because I looked on your profile which said you were male, and you said boyfriend, one of the reasons why I thought this one would be a good choice):

    https://www.lovehoney.co.uk/product.cfm?p=16665

The most important thing with any kind of anal play is to relax, take it slow, and use loads of lube. Enjoy yourselves!

Just seen this on 50% off promo today: https://www.lovehoney.co.uk/product.cfm?p=35053

Definitely considering getting it myself just as a treat, but I would absolutely suggest something like this for anal play beginners!
