Asked one girl once how her weekend was going as an opener.

Her response, had 1 guy Friday night, 1 Saturday night fancy making it a hat trick 😂😂

Had been chatting with someone on OkCupid for maybe 20 minutes when they asked how long I had been single, then told me they hadn't slept with anyone for x number of years, apart from their social worker and escorts of course! I don't judge but after such a brief chat that didn't exactly put me at ease! I'm just not suited to online dating!

I spent a lot of money on dating websites in the past, most women never bothered to reply, the few that did we’re very wary & mistrustfulI, I was always polite & treated them with respect, but constantly told your a nice guy but no thanks, I was always told be yourself & don’t pretend to be someone else.
I wasted a chunk of my life.
Sorry I hope I haven’t put anyone off.

I only ever met one person from POF.. she is now my wife and mother to ny children. 8 years strong. Some of the messages i got were just down right rude i remember one being from an older man asking me to chain him up in the woods (i had that i was straight on my profile so not sure if he was expecting a yes or just blanket messaging everyone in a certain radius hoping for a yes)

I have a few POF horror stories, before I met J (thank god).

The nastiest one from my point of view was had a to cancel a second date due to my dad being taken ill. I phoned her to explain and she told me not to bother going to the hospital to see my dad, but to come and see her. I explained for the second time he was ill and had been rushed into hospital, she then said " your only be sitting around for hours wasting your time, I know I am a receptionist at a hospital, dont bother going and come here"

At this point I put the phone down!

Dont have to bother with POF anymore!!!! Yay!!!

I was reading something this week in which the blogger was making an analogy about the superficiality of Tinder and saying that "Tinder is like the Macdonald's of dating". His view is that it brings kind of instant but shallow gratification and it's something that very rarely delivers in terms of finding someone special if that's is what people are after.

I've been with my hubby for 15 years and I think if we split up, I'd be in serious trouble as I don't see myself going through this kind of thing. I know a lot, a lot of people go into online dating nowadays, but for me the eye-to-eye thing, chemistry, smile and a nice first impression are hard to replace. Maybe I'm too old... lol!

To be honest, every experience I've had on POF and Tinder have all been negative.

I've used Tinder more but I find that I match with women and then receive no response, or the conversation dries up completely.

I'm thinking that meeting someone is far better through real life than constantly behind a screen.

I never used tinder but used POF and met up with a few people. Whilst I count myself lucky that I didn't get any true horror stories, I did meet a couple that were too full on . After meeting 1, a couple of days later I went for a mea l with friends, got a message saying "thanks for ignoring me, classy!" . Apparently she was in the same pub, but left before sending the message and I hadn't noticed her . Another sent me 15 texts whilst I fell asleep watching telly, started with "no how are you" and ended with "you're just like everyone else, all you've done is lie to me". Needless to say I didn't wit either of them again.

Saying all that, I did meet my OH on POF, it's been 3 years now, we've bought a house together and I've never been happier .So they do have their positives
