An interesting one for a Monday morning,

When me and Mrs City first met we used condoms all the way - this later gave way to a) pulling out and cuming over/on/in her mouth/face/tits etc etc you get the picture - luckily for me my control over when i cum is excellent as i can wait as long as i choose pretty much and b) finishing with anal and cumming in her ass.

However we have now started to look at the calender and working out from when she has had her period the "safe" times when i can cum inside her pussy. Suffice to say we had a very sticky and wet weekend and it was HEAVEN! Having not had this pleasure for some time, it was an overwhelmingly lush experience and one which we both adored, the sofa in the lounge does need a visit from the upholstery cleaners now though lol.

So for those of you lucky enough to have a partner able/willing to take the pill (or other secure method - Mrs City having tried the pill, implant, and went to have coil fitted but it just didnt work out and was a bit traumatic) dont take this for granted, the day you cant do it youll miss it like crazy!

Now we are both adults and to be honest making babies is on next years agenda anyway thus the pregnancy risk is not a big deal for us, so please not lectures on that front.

Do any other love honey users use this form of "contraception"? What are your experiences of it? Which method best/easiest to calculate?

    Cheers

First of all, I know you prob know it, but for anyone else reading, There is NO safe time. Even when a girl is on her period it is still possible to get pregnant. Also, just pulling out at the right time, cannot always be safe either...

Next. Contraception. No contraception is 100% effective. I take the pill, and it also helps my pre-menstrual tension aswell (Thats the big bonus). There is no best type either.. coil, pills etc.. everyone reacts differently to it..

I want to add that even though I was on the pill for 6 months I still managed to get pregnant. I never missed a day, but excessive alchohol stopped it working..

In other words. It would seem that if you dont want to get pregnant then dont have sex at all. Though chances are low when practising sex sex. But be prepared...

Same happened to my OH - twice! Was a bit of a shock, but hey ho!

We've tried the pill, implants etc like the OP but for different reasons she's had reactions. At the moments its just condoms for us. Not ideal but until we decide if were going to have more kids thats how its gonna be :)

I would also like to add my appreciation to coming inside my lady.... its fantastic, but I'm pretty much relegated to doing so about 1 week of every month (the week after the period).... we know this isn't exactly 'safe sex' but the problems of the pill for the mrs were just too many to list, and the joys of sex with a condom isn't exactly what i'd call a joy.

That's... very scary :( Hence why I've never taken the oral pill! I'd be pregnant in about a week from being stupid with it and not taking it properly!

CitySlicker, I've never used withdrawal/rhythm method for contraception, but I am well aware of just how much better sex is condomless :) When with my long-term ex, we ditched the condoms and just relied on Depo-Provera... it's just a much closer experience :)

And since you guys are all geared up for kids anyway, no harm in relying on withdrawal/rhythm :) Have fun!

Shelly - It was very very scary.

We'd only been seeing each other about 6 months when it happened the first time. Looking back though, it probably made us stronger and I wouldn't change it for anything. I got 2 wonderful children out of it.

Occasionally now we want to do it without condoms but dont want to risk it.

I actually know a lot of people with similar stories. Seems there's a high margin of error on the Oral Contraceptive Pill.

I was taking the pill and got pregnant the 1st time i slept with my childs father. Oh And I was also beginning my period at the time too. I was 18 and we had been seeing each other a couple weeks. When I realised I was pregnant I had gone back with my ex. So as you think it wont happen to you-in my case it did

I also had a traumatic time with the coil and can understand why less women have it done

My condition basically means anything with other hormones in except progesterone, my other meds just cancel the effects out which is why I have now been put on the mini pill

Not that I have been having any sex really

But it has stopped my periods

oh ok well my bad i personally use pill and condoms most of the time i just keep myself safe and sometimes i really dont want to do the "run" to the bathroom after lol

i havent actually come across anyone who has become pregnant on the pill its just a case of bad luck really if your trying to stay safe. the only other option is a contraceptive gel or spray but iv never adventured down that road lol xx

I hope everything goes well for you and I am sure by next year you will be expecting baby number 3 (your 1st) and the pill doesnt sit right with me either. My previous partner and I made an agreement to use the withdrawal method till we were ready and that never let us down, shame it took us 2 years to then get pregnant.

(((( I was just expressing that I got preggers on the pill, at the beginning of my period the 1st time I slept with him..it was not good at all for me at that time in my life but I have a beautiful daughter now and luckily for me I have just been told I can;t have any more children at the age of 24 so if id not had my 2 gorgeous kids young, then i would be a childless woman, and I always knew I was supposed to be a mum!!!!!)))))

    Just my luck

    xx

I'm on the patch, which is similar to the pill, but it doesnt get effected by certain illness or antibiotics, unlike the pill, plus its easier to remember, as you just change it once a week xx

my OH is taking the pill but due to a long distance relationship we get to spend little time together

when we do see each other we try to make up for lost time so loads of hot horny fun is had.

unfortunately due to health reasons the pill didnt have the required results and she become pregnant. this wouldnt have been a bad thing in a few years when her health got better as we was planning on having a little one of our own, but due to ill health it had to be terminated cause the health implications to my oh could have turned out for the worse.

if you are planning it then it can turn out for the best, if you are not planning it then it could go totally the opposite way and end in dire circumstances.

The pill dont work for me, got pregnant with my 2nd child on that. I find that the coil is the only one that worked for me. (sorry to hear it didnt for a couple of you). Im waiting to go back on it after having baby number 3, me and the OH are curently using condoms and find it a real pain when we are just getting into it and have to stop to put the damn thing on but we really dont want to risk it, and the pulling out method isnt 100percent safe as there is still some sperm released in pre-cum.
and i have to say we are both missing it like mad now that we cant really put his cum where we want it then means stopping taking it off and then doing whatever, more hassel imo.

    xx

I cannot take the pill for health reasons however have successfully used FAM/NFP for years with my OH. Its alot more reliable than withdrawal and research and trials have now proven it can be s affective as the pill and condoms as long as the person using the method does so PROPERLY!

Its alot to explain but briefly the basics are you chart your basil temp (when you wake) every day of the month along with cervical fluid. When a women has ovulated her temp will go up by several degrees on the chart, if it stays above the previous line of temps for three days in a row you have definately ovulated for that month and cannot ovulate again. After you have charted for quite a few months and seen your own cycle you can then work out the days before ovulaion which are safe as long as your cycle is regular.

I was taught the method several years ago by a wonderful lady who is a lecturer a Uni's accross the country and a consultant at all of the big hospitals specialising in fertility. I can highly recommend it if you love having sex without anything............i cant think of anything better!!! ;-)

look up fertilityuk.org, there's loads of info, its made a huge difference to us as i can take any hormones at all and im allergic to latex.

    hope this helps :-)

I've used the contraceptive sponge which is like a much easier version of the cap. You can leave it in for up to 24 hours as long as you leave it in for at least 6 hours after intercourse. It is hardly detectable in use. I prefer the "Today" sponge which is much easier to remove than others I have tried. They're relatively easy to get by mail order and cost a few quid each. They contain nonoxynol 9 which helps to resist infection from HIV. In my experience, this method of birth control is the most like using nothing at all, no pill side effects, and virtually no detectable barrier sensations.

I'd like to try the cervical ring, but I don't think they ever got round to making it for retail sale, even though it did so well against the other methods in contraception tests.

We use the FAM method which is basically what you are already doing with checking dates etc, just a bit more precise! You need the book 'Taking charge of your fertility' by Toni Weschler. It does blind you with science a bit at first and it involves making charts of your wifes' cycles but once you get your head around it it's really useful to know accurately when the ''safe'' times are. It is for us anyway

if i'm honest my oh and i both cannot really tell the difference without a condom, we use the thin ones anyway...

i'm only 18 so any stupid risks would be really silly at my age, and expecially because i really do not want to have children ever.

i would take the pill but as we have no problem with condoms then i wouldn't bother having to remember to take it etc

much easier to just use condoms!
