Indeed! Is it friendly? Either way I think it's very cheesy.

    "Sexy and secure adult shopping."

Ah. I have now thought of another thing is reminds me of:

Dodgy impressions of Thai prostitutes on sketch shows. "We is sexual happiness people, love you long time?"

I have just tried the new scheme and I really don't like the dark purple - it is a bit "intrusive" for me! If it would be purple - I would prefer a much softer, tender one.

Also I really do miss the Wishlist link - it was one of the first things I saw missing and isn't too easy to get there either...

Also, the purplish background on the top seems to end before the end of the page - it ends somewhere in the beginning of the "Help" tab. So the "Delivery" link couldn't be seen in whole - I only see "Deliv".

I'm totally agreeing with the sexual happiness people thing, it's an AWFUL tag line, it's like an insurance advert or a legal ad. Sounds like one of them companies that's trying to be really smiley and happy about creaming the cash off you. That'd put me off if I saw it. I didn't though, until I re-read the thread and checked it, so maybe that says something.

    I have a suggestion.

Fit this in somewhere on the page:

Any idea on searching the forums? Do we just use the same search box at the top of the page. Because it's not doing what I want it to do!

If you wanna search the forums go to:

    http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=inurl%3Ahttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.lovehoney.co.uk%2Fcommunity&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a#sclient=psy&hl=en&client=firefox-a&hs=J31&rls=org.mozilla:en-US%3Aofficial&q=factsandfriction.blogspot.com+inurl:http%3A%2F%2Fwww.lovehoney.co.uk%2Fcommunity++site%3Alovehoney.co.uk+&aq=f&aqi=&aql=&oq=&pbx=1&fp=6c3368735fa7a20

    (copy and paste!)

Then replace my shameless factsandfriction.blogspot.com example/plug with whatever you would like to search for

Like the font and the heart-y logo. What is that tail thingy on it though?

The colour. It's definitely purple, and looks a bit... weird? Heavy? Cheesy? not sure why, but it's just a little offputting.

Oooh, I know! It's the stripes! That texture clashes with the flat block panels elsewhere. In my opinion, stripes should always go to dexter anyway, up and right. Up to the left looks wrong! Perhaps another pattern would make the purple look classier - fleur-de-lys, maybe? Think expensive bold boudoir wallpaper. Definitely a flowery pattern in a strong pallette - feminine yet sophisticated. The main problem you're facing is the white page. Any bold dark colours look out of place next to the white. Hmmm. Perhaps a brighter colour scheme. More pastel with hints of bold primaries. Not sure.

The search function is awkwardly not working for forum users - maybe re-wording the bar to tell people they'll be searching the store, or searching for a product, would help.

And update the wlecome threads accordingly...

But in short, I think I like what you're doing with the place!

Hey Folks - yep, forum search is temporarily borked if you're viewing the new header style - it's an unwanted side effect of how we're showing it to you, sorry guys.

We're going to be working on the purple today. The coral and blue tabs have grown on me, n'est pas?

Defending "The Sexual Happiness People" a tad......we're aiming for a strapline that's more approachable, less "OMFG! I'm on a sex toy website! Run away! Hide from the Other Half! Delete History!" more "ooooh, these folks look like the sort to help me explore my sex life, and in turn, make me happier, come over here love, let's have a look around together" - like that we're People, not Company, since we're big fans of sticking our semi-attractive mugs all over the site :-) So, yeah, it's a bit cheesy, but it does make us different, which is nice.

    suggestion:

there are a few green bits around, eg the shopping trolley, the search at the bottom and the speech bubbles on the help and advice live chat. Need to change this, as it really doesn't work with the rest of the colours.

Not all that fussed about the new design, don't like the new tagline either. What was wrong with the design?

Has anything changed lots this morning? I like it quite a bit more than yesterday...

I do like the thoughts behind the tagline but in actuality it seems so far removed from what Lovehoney sells, still seems very relationship councillor (yes, I realised that's something like my 4th different comparison!).

I very much disagree. I think it stands out but unobtrusively, they're only small icons and it's the important bits that are standing out like basket and help.

The green on the the "Live Chat Help" doesn't botter me either. But I don't like the green basket - since it is on a whitish background, it could be purple as the background, but in a different shade of purple.

I still don't like the purple header. The colour might be ok, once we're used to it, but the stripey look just seems soooo cheap and nasty, the watermark seems messy when so little of it is visible, and having the header fill the whole top is what makes the sides outside the container seem so big and empty (trimming the header to the container dimensions, or letting it flow down the spaces at the sides, too, might solve that though).

Going with what MrM suggested about a different pattern, what about using the monkey-tail-heart as the pattern? Ditch the big, sloppy watermark-looking one, ditch the stripes, and make a repeat of smaller hearty bits.

Also, might be an optical illusion with the different colours, but is there a teeny tiny size difference between the red and blue nav tabs? The blue ones seem like one pixel smaller height-wise. Could just be a combo of the colour change and where the stripes hit the dividing line, but it keeps catching my eye that the top line doesn't look quite straight.

Sorry, I'm a pain! More ideas and complaints than anyone could bear listening to.

I actually quite like the purple. It's better than the stronger blue before and gels better with the coral. Still a little "woah" but I think I'll get used to it. Also the stripey effect doesn't seem so bad to me. I like it. Better than having a plain block of colour.

Perhaps the blue tabs could be changed to the green on the checkout etc to keep more of a colour scheme? I think it doesn't look that bad generally though. It does it's job in standing out without being too mismatched... that or maybe I've just gotten used to it already..

I really dislike the smaller formal font under the tabs though. Doesn't go with anything..

like the blue, it feels more gender nuteral.

navigation works roughly the same for me In latest version of firefox.

like the new slogan too and the red and blue to differentiate between the product pages and the forum and comunity side of things. also like that the tabs and search box seem a little more rounded.

like the checkout box at the top graphics wise and the placement of the telephone line and customer service details.

Very good point. It draws the eye and I imagine appeals to a wider range of people.
