'sexual happiness people' sounds a lot more modern than 'adult shopping'. Anything described as 'adult' automatically sounds a little seedy to me.

Is it just the masthead that's changed?

I think, just chipping in here, rich purples, reds, pinks, black, white and chocolate brown are all good colours to go for. I mean you don't want to be like everyone else, but it's silly to make a sex shop look like a bank or a supermarket, right?

Just generally speaking blue connotes cold, barren, official or royal... Which aren't really the things I'd want to get across as people who care for sex lives. I'm sorry if I'm nagging here! I'm sure you talented people can figure out a way to make it work of course!

Just saying there are other colours which are sexy, but mature and non-cliche. Think expensive satin bed linen and champagne and truffles!

Also I didn't mention this before, but I like the new tagline!

Not a fan of the blue at all, or the new logo. Think it cheapened the look of the site, much preffer the pink. One of the reasons I like this site is the up market look of it, don't loose that!

Hmm, I'm not sure. I do like the new logo, seems a bit more classy and 'grown up' than the old one; I do like having the Live Chat and Search box up top and clear (although the Chat link is still in the sidebar, so duplicate needs removing if it gets settled); I'm not sold on the purpley-bluey bar, and I can't put my finger on why... Think the gradient shading is nice, and the colour's good when solid, but gets a bit tacky looking when it gets to the main part, think it's the stripey look. Maybe the stripes with the watermark symbol is just too much when lumped together.

Also, that watermark is mostly masked by the Basket, so it takes a bit of looking to work out what it is, and just isn't visible enough to make much of an impression. I'd say drop it completely, maybe if you have the header background colour continue down the sides outside the container, include it as part of the pattern there, but in the header itself it doesn't look like enough of anything and ends up being kinda scruffy.

And I'll second VE's thing about the tabs clashing. The red works ok because it compliments the logo, but the blue just looks like "we needed a colour and didn't have time to think of anything so what the hell, ram a blue in", which kind of undersells the work ye're putting in.

Actually, having a play around with some palettes, I do think a mix of reds-chocolates-golds-pinks works best for the theme, especially since they're the kind of colours that can work as strong backgrounds, or softer pastelles. I guess it's just that the bluey-purple, while lovely, doesn't really match with enough unless you're going for either a full-on purple site - which will look a bit over the top - or some kind of primary-ish theme - cheap and tacky - so you do want a more complimentary colour as a base. Reds, golds, pinks will always work well for that, since they're fit for purpose without needing something else to draw them in, and have a lot of close colour relatives that'll mesh well.

I also like the idea of a honey-ish colour, just to compliment the name, and that would fit well with reds and chocolates and browns and pinks. Maybe something like http://kuler.adobe.com/#themeID/1246032 although that's just a speedy rough look and more focused on the stronger colours. Mainly it's the idea of a honey-ish colour, with some chocolates, reds and pinks to compliment it.

It looks kind of odd to me, the checkout box just kind of 'sits' on the top right, and the log-in option has gone from top right so presume I have to go my account now instead? The search box kind of covers up the phone number and the live help option too.... I did a screen shot if you want it emailing.....

Also my drop down menu's are now see-through so I can't actually navigate them, it's weird, hard to explain...

Cos of this, at the minute I don't like it, as it's not useable for me....

I do like the new design, it is a bit wide and blank on each side of my monitor tho

That's one thing, given most people are going to have slightely higher res monitors, would it be worth increasing the container size? Especially since there is a mobile version of the site, so that's not so much of an issue. Or is there the risk of that causing trouble for folk using the 'real' site on android phones?

I know many people may disagree but I didn't like the Honey lady - this looks so much more sophisticated! Good choice

Equally, I'm liking the colours - I quite like the purple/blue and I don't think it looks boring at all. IMO it goes well with the coral.

RE the new tagline - it hasn't grown on me yet. I don't know why but it seems cliched, although I didn't like the other tagline either.....

Basket looks much better - so much more streamlined & doesn't bother me that the wishlist link is missing either. Going to keep navigating round and see what else I find...

I'm not sure about that - the wider something is spread out the more your eye has to scan horizontally to read it. Websites that reflow to a widescreen monitor can be a bit of a pain to read sometimes, for me at least.

How do you search the forums now?? Am I being thick? I can't find what I'm looking for.

Is this white space on each side of the screen - is that the white space people are talking about? For me, it's making things easier to read but I haven't check it on my phone yet

Aye, that's the stuff. It's mainly there so that someone on a lower res screen doesn't have to keep scrolling sideways to see the whole screen, but as Jake pointed out, there is a limit on how wide it can go before it's just as annoying from an eye-strain perspective. I do think it could stand to be a little wider, not a full widescreen fill or anything, but maybe a couple of hundred pixels more. Or there's always the option of "junk" borders, saw a few sites where what they'd do is have small inconsequential notes filling the space, so a) you don't have to read across any further, b) folk on lower res monitors don't have to scroll across because it's fluff anyway, and c) those with higher res monitors have something filling the void. Maybe having small post-its style notes with the latest customer comments or something? Might look a bit cluttered, but could be worth a ponder in case there's a clean way of using that dead space.

Cheers BB thought it was but thought I'd better check

Any idea on searching the forums? Do we just use the same search box at the top of the page. Because it's not doing what I want it to do!

LK - I think there was a post earlier saying the new version had affected the ability to search the forums, you might need to clear your cache and go back to the old version to do it?

Think numbers mentioned that the search function had been a little borked by the changes, might have to do the whole cookie-removal to go back to the old version and use it.

Cheers guys - serves me right for not reading the whole thread properly *sigh*

Can't really be bothered to clear cache as I prefer this format but I did need to search the forum. Decisions, decisions lol

I do like the freshness, it's a bit more 'in your face' in a good way. Saying that it's also a bit too dark for my liking and I'm not sure blue fits with sex toys. I'd like it a bit lighter because the banners clash a little too much with the white everywhere else, I do much prefer white background pages though. I don't like the red/blue clash bit.

I do like the move away from all pink. I've now got used to the pink forum but I used to really hate it on the main site and forum.

The big dark banner also draws attention to the fact there is not much at the sides on a widescreen computer. I agree with Ad on the basket and help looking good and really clear.

I'd also like Miss LH kept in some way! Perhaps in PVC with a whip. I like the new logo but it looks a intentional but unclear, like the missing bit of heart has a meaning but it won't tell me what.

I *really* don't like the 'sexual happiness people'. It's just shouting HERBAL VIAGRA or another 'fluffy' product... I don't want to sound like I'm shopping with Dreamcatching Chakra loving hippies. It is hard to think of alternatives but I *really* do dislike this. 'Suitably sexy shopping'? 'Supportive sexy shopping'? '

Orange! Try orange! It's different from other sex toy sites and it doesn't have the harshness or the blue/purple. And it's my favourite colour... Oooo, I've just seen BB's post. Great colours from her!

Looks fine to me, can't see any massive changes other than the colours on the mast head and bottom, and the slightly moved search bar.

My thoughts are that it might seem a little more masculine to some being more blue now tho, not sure if that's an issue to some folk? Probably not, but the neutrality and femininity can subconsiously be more relaxing to a timid customer ( oh dear...can tell i've worked in retail for 15 years, eh? ).
