It says the winning entry is judged to be the most original. Although that seems to imply that the most outlandish idea will win.

When designing mine I tried to make my entry practical to manufacture with an eye on cost. Do the judges take this into consideration?

I've also been wondering about this, my toy suggestion is more a "good solution to an annoying problem" than a super-original toy. Don't have an answer for you, but will be following this thread =)

I'm new, could someone point me to where this competition is?

I think it's just what impresses the judges most- the winner of the cash will not necessarily be manufactured, and any toys that are deemed marketable and so made, may not actually win.

So if you have made something viable and practical, there's a chance at sucess and essentially the royalties prize, if not the contest winner.

I actually have an idea but I can't design a toy, like I can't draw. So there'd be no point

Do we know what happened to 2014's entries yet? I entered last year when 'Frisky Business' was airing. I know I wouldn't have won, but I am curious as to what happened... anyone?

Any idea what sort of details we need to put in, both in writing and on the diagram?

I'm no good at drawing either so I did a 3D model. There are alternative ways to get the idea across. Maybe use photos or video.

I'm not bothered about winning, but the toy I have in mind would do something that I haven't found another toy to do, and I'd love to see it manufactured. By the way, does anyone know how good remote controls for toys are these days?
