If you don't mind me adding to my previous post one thing that drives me mad is labels !

Always seem to be at the back and sadly are normally either very soft and tickle like mad or hard and sharp and scratch . The soft ones you cut out leaving a edge with is either sharp or you manage to cut a hole in them.
The sharp hard ones you have to spend ages straining your eyes unpicking !

I would expect to pay £5/£15 for Cotton/Lycra or Microfibre Boxer Trunks and they must be comfortable as well as providing support, i dont mind any colour except for Pink.

Price wouldn't matter. We recently went hunting and I mean hunting for something really sexy. Last place we looked was the best known family high street store, usually renowned for sensible clothing, outer and under. The fabric is microfibre, has a sheen, fits and feels magnificent. In limited colours and at £8.50 a pop, we bought 6 double packs. With our taste in lingirie, we thought that should extend to male underwear too. Not tacky with silly wording. Transparent enough to reveal the important outlines and form, comfortable to wear at length and in various colours.

I asked OH for his opinions :)

    - What's most important when buying sexy underwear for men?
Good fit for both the package at the front & the sexy tush in the back and something of good quality that can be washed well.

    - How much would you expect to pay?
    £10-15 range

    - What kind of fabrics do you like to buy?
Stretchy cotton/cotton blend - anything that isn't scratchy. Also don't like scratchy labels that are in awkward places!

    - What are your favourite styles to wear?
    Boxer shorts

    - What colours do you like to wear?
Dark colours - usually black, dark grey, dark forest green

Would love OH to try sexier LH underwear (ie. sheer shorts to lacy thongs) so if this survey is ideas for new men's underwear then *eek* !! ;)

Woohoo, how did I not see this thread before now? Couple of months ago I wrote in comments box on buyer survey thingy that men could do with more choices for underwear. Looks like it may happen...

Right then positive contribution time, I guess that my underwear buying habits could be split into three categories. 1.Everyday wear, 2.Going out wear, 3. 'Staying in' wear.

    1. For me for everyday wear a good tight pair of cotton boxers is a must. Probably not paying that much, fiver or so maybe. Almost always in black.

    2. Going out, well better brand and brand pricing 'in case' they get seen, (top edge only of course I'm happily married). Again normally boxers in black or dark colours and in cotton or mostly cotton. (For both types cotton is a must, polyester blends cause everything to start to stick together which leads to the little wiggle about in public that my wife gets embarrased by).

    3. Final type 'staying in' gets interesting and is where I am hoping that Lovehoney is going to expand their range. Fabric can be anything really, tight black cotton boxers seem to keep my wife happy. For me (and for her) other alternatives could be things such as silk, latex, stretch fabrics etc or perhaps laceor prints if done properly. Looking for something sexy without being 60's porn star type tacky (no elephants ta very much).

Pricewise, it depends really. Would be nice to have some more basic/economy types that can be removed in a hurry without worrying, maybe £5-£10. Also would be nice to have some more special types that can be looked after, I don't think £30 would be unreasonable if the quality and 'uniqueness' were there, perhaps even a bit more.

Colours, well there is room for every taste really. Can't go wrong with black, but how about a dark purple / or a deep red. (Subaru metallic blue works for pretty much anything as well)

Heck man, girls get all the fun and the cool stuff. Why not push the boat out and have boxers with a string of pearls that wrap around your man bits or a G-string with a remote control (for wife) and a vibrating egg against the perineum (could be fun at the pub).

Hope this helps more than it hinders, happy to be pm'd by LH for more ideas.

(PS labels are a pain in the behind, literally. Suggest solving problem by investing in a stitch picker from sewing shop, no don't cut the stitches, they make a wonderfull job of slicing the label without damaging fabric.)

Main thing is to make sure your tackle fits!! Ive tried on many different ones before and its difficult to try be sexy for the OH when you bit are being squished.

Also male lingerie would be great!! Stuff just like what you girls get but designed for us blokes. My OH loves that idea

    Hi Cazz

Well for me I'm either boxer brief or boxer type of guy, I like anything eye catching (bright coloured) and has to look kind of sexy( women can't have all the fun when it comes to underwear). I have been known to wear things before but I'm not brave enough to wear them 24/7.
Material wise it has to be some microfibre, modal or Lycra like stuff for everyday maybe even semi sheer fabric which I find really comfortable. For bedroom wear maybe something wet look for a bit of fun!
When it comes to price I've paid up to £30 for boxers before, for everyday wear I'd pay somewhere between £8-£15 but would pay more if it was excellent quality and a great looking product. For fun dress up / sexy bedroom underwear I'd pay up to £30.
Im not sure if it comes under underwear but would love to see LH stock some men's satin loungewear! Hope this helps.

Would also add in to the post above it has to be supportive and not to tight so everything doesn't feels squashed in! Lol.

microfibre is a nice material, soft and smooth.

    I also like silk.

The boy short type is nice, should be almost or totally transparent.

    Colours, white, black and red.

Price - not the most important, as long as they are sexy.

    Hi Cazz,

    - How much would you expect to pay?

For me, I buy a pack of 3 for a tenner, but these are day to day and not "special". I've paid up to about £25 for a single pair, my missus has bought presents that have been a little more. Its weird because I don't bat an eyelid paiding > £70 for a lingerie set for her!

    - What kind of fabrics do you like to buy?

Personally I really like the stretchy style of material that you see on expensive gym vests. My favourite pair in the world are my figleaves made out of this material. (I think from google its polyamide). Figleaves dont seem to sell own brand stuff anymore. My misses bought me a pair of David Beckham pants - these are her favourite. They are more elasticated cotton. Standard cotton looks great when you put them on, but at the end of the day they lose their shape completely.

    - What are your favourite styles to wear?

I like the fitted trunk style with a good (not too small, not too big) pouch, so does my misses. She HATES windows at the front. Personally i like them, but I never "use" them, if that makes sense? I like the look, dont use the function.

    - What colours do you like to wear?

She loves white. I'm not fused, I tend to buy myself black, although I do have a pair that are dark grey that I like.

Other notes: I hate poor quality. I have a few pairs of CK pants, that are really nice to wear. They are zinc micro, or power micro or something similar - the box has a big X on it IRRC. On all pairs that I bought, the stitching starts to go really really quickly. If I buy a pair of underwear, I want them to last for years!

    Most important when buying?

    - they need to achieve a level of interest from those they're intend to please so both the wearer and any viewer.

    How much?

    - in my experience you can expect to pay anything from £10 to £25 and the price tags doesn't always reflect the quality or the comfort.

    Fabrics?

    - I prefer mostly synthetics, fitted styles that whilst 'secure' aren't uncomfortable.

    Styles?

Fitted, not loose, and not novelty. I don't mind any particular cut against any other as long as the comfort is there. I was surprised when I first tried the thong underwear from LH just how comfortable they could be but I would prefe them in a more elastic fabric.

    Colours?

    - Solid colours not soft pastels, I don't mind see through with patterns if not garish, I don't think you can go wrong with black, white, grey and primary colours.

OH thinks a selection similiar to what women have would be fine. Often only a few colours to pick from and not much variety.
