Virgos Found To Be the Sign Most Likely To Dive Headfirst Into the Uncuffing Season
on 12 Jul 2022
How will you cope with uncuffing season, according to your star sign?
With the nights long and the temperature getting hotter, "uncuffing season" has arrived.
The uncuffing season is the period - early summer - when many people in a relationship break up to be free and available for the warm months.
Searches for the likes of “hot girl summer list” and “hot girl summer 2022” are up +800% and +600% respectively, and as many as a quarter (27%) of Brits have now admitted to wanting to be single over the summer.
So Lovehoney has teamed up with astrology expert Inbaal Honigman to survey Brits and discover how people of each star sign are going to cope this summer.
According to the Lovehoney Cuffing Season Survey, Virgos were found to be the sign most likely to dive headfirst into a footloose summer, with as many as 36% of Virgo respondents saying they want to be single over the summer.
However, Scorpios were found to be the least likely to find uncuffing season appealing, with only 16% of Scorpio respondents saying they’d want to be single over the summer.
Uncuffing Season Horoscope
How will you deal with the challenges of the uncuffing season?
Astrology expert Inbaal Honigman reveals how each sign is likely to deal with the coming months…
Aries (March 21st to April 19th):
For an Aries people, speaking their mind comes first, and they believe that honesty is the best policy. Aries hate going by anyone’s rules and therefore find relationships challenging. However, they do enjoy being in a series of short-term relationships.
Taurus (April 20th to May 20th):
Taurus is a quiet and peaceful sign, and this is reflected both when they’re in a relationship and when they’re single. They don’t need anyone to complete them and are truly happy being alone.
Gemini (May 21st to June 20th):
Geminis lead the field in women’s liberation. As they’re the dual sign - symbolised by the twins - they have both the masculine and feminine within them. They enjoy being single because they like to have options, and in this sign the ladies want to be alone more than the men.
Cancer (June 21st to July 22nd):
Cancerians love being in warm and loving relationships, and they’re great at forgiving. They will accept anything from a partner, as long as it’s from a true soulmate. If you’re not the ‘twin flame’, you’re outta here.
Leo (July 23rd to August 22nd):
Leos are the proudest of the signs. Their symbol is the Lion, and they like to be treated like royalty.
Virgo (August 23rd to September 22nd):
Virgos are a practical and honest sign and they’re the most likely of the signs to want to be single over summer. They’re incredibly sociable, so they want as many adventures as possible and to meet lots of new people. However, Virgos are also sensible, so they’re not going to cheat. They’d rather be honest and tell you that you’re dumped than meet someone and then let you find out for yourself.
Libra (September 23rd to October 22nd):
Libras are easygoing - they can either take it or leave it. They can see both sides of the story, so they’re happy being single or being in a relationship and they refuse to let their status dictate their lives,
Scorpio (October 23rd to November 22nd):
Scorpios aren’t really looking to be alone, and this is for two reasons. Firstly, Scorpios are a water sign - and they love to be in love. Water signs enjoy the give and take of relationships, and they love to activate their emotions. Secondly, if a Scorpio meets someone new and they hit it off, they’ll think: "We’re only getting to know each other - what’s the harm?" And before they know it, they’re dating two people at once.
Sagittarius (November 23rd to December 21st):
Sagittarius is a sign that’s all about freedom and adventure. Being in a relationship can feel quite limiting to them, and at any rate they won’t spend summer alone. If they have a partner, they feel no obligation to take that partner along for the ride. They’re truly independent.
Capricorn (December 22nd to January 19th):
Capricorns are more about work, wealth and status, and not so much about relationship status. They love being with someone with they can share their good fortune with, but if there’s no partner they’ll gladly pick up the tab for everyone else at the bar.
Aquarius (January 20th to February 18th):
Aquarius are one of the most faithful signs of the Zodiac. They would spend a lifetime finding someone who fits them well, and once they've found them they won't want to let go. Aquarians are quirky and not everyone can handle that, which is why they learn from their own history and keep hold of the partners who enjoy their quirks.
Pisces (February 19th to March 20th):
Pisces is a very romantic sign: they believe in true love. To them, a partner is for life, not just for winter.
Lovehoney Toxic Relationship Traits Awareness Campaign
Toxic relationship trait behaviours are on the rise during the cuffing season.
Lovehoney has partnered with dating and relationships expert Callisto Adams for its continuing campaign to raise awareness of toxic relationship behaviours, which are going to become more prominent over the next few months (see our Glossary of Toxic Traits below).
According to Callisto Adams, if you are currently emerging from a toxic relationship, this can actually leave you feeling stronger and better prepared to face the summer dating world.
“Toxic trait behaviours such as 'cookie-jarring', 'orbiting', and 'breadcrumbing' have been part of dating trends for a while now. But if you have been unlucky enough to have been on the receiving end of any of them, the experience can actually be turned into a positive for you.
“That's because of the knowledge you gain from such experiences allows you to be more assertive when looking at a potential partner and to have a more pragmatic outlook. You notice the red flags earlier. You are more experienced when it comes to noticing signs of toxic behaviour and its nature in general.
“Despite the pain of going through a toxic experience, you end up learning a lot from it. You end up gaining confidence after you've healed. You get a bag of understanding and awareness, making it easier for you to spot the 'wrong ones' and make decisions that are about your own wellbeing and about truthfulness to yourself.”
