It’s that time of the week again! Welcome to Lovehoney’s weekly round up of the best sex-related news on the web.
Erotica author Lily Harlem (winner of the first Lovehoney erotic fiction competition) has just released an exciting new novel called Good Cop, Bad Cop. This new book has been co-authored with the fabulous Natalie Dae and tells the tale of a lady caught between two lovers - both of whom want her cuffed and controlled.

Here's what else is worth reading this weekend…
Librarian Gwendolynne is involved with not one, but two men: a mysterious correspondent, Nemesis, who leaves explicit erotic messages for her in the library's suggestion box, and Professor Daniel Brewster, a celebrity academic who's visiting the library to research a new book.
"There's an immediate spark between Gwen and 'Professor Hottie McHotstuff', and even before they get around to doing the wild thing, they're involved in series of sexual challenges, based the notes she's received from Nemesis.
As she spends more time in the company of the handsome historian, Gwen quickly realises she's falling for him, and when they eventually do get together, for her it's far more than simply a crazy stolen sex romp amongst the library's basement book stacks.
Guest post by Portia Da Costa
If you’re one of the thousands of people who finished the Fifty Shades trilogy and are looking to fill the void, In Too Deep by Portia Da Costa is the perfect follow-up.
In Too Deep is the story of Gwendolynne Price, a youthful librarian who is involved with not one, but two men: a mysterious correspondent, Nemesis, who leaves explicit erotic messages for her in the library's suggestion box, and eminent Professor Daniel Brewster.
There's an immediate spark between Gwen and Daniel and they become involved in series of sexual challenges, based the notes she's received from Nemesis.
"I couldn't put the book down, couldn't wait to find out what happened next and have since read it 4 times!" - Neferata, Lovehoney customer.
"A delightfully horny tale." - Pinky & Perky, Lovehoney customer.
From Justine to Fanny Hill, erotic classics from as early as the 18th century have remained popular.
Recently however, we have seen many newly published erotic novels by modern authors set in times of courtesans and contessas.
Xcite Books has picked up on this trend, releasing the aptly named Past Pleasures - a collection of short stories ranging from trysts with Pharaohs in Ancient Egypt to coming-of-age naughtiness with a Celtic chieftain.
The arrival of Past Pleasures at our desks got the Lovehoney office wondering: is historical erotica sexy?
Is there still room for bodice-ripping in the Fifty Shades of Grey generation, where the action takes place firmly in the modern setting, with sleek cars, elevators and kitchen countertops the scenes for debauchery?
Whether you're a fan or not, there's no getting away form the fact that Fifty Shades of Grey, now officially the bestselling British book of all time, has shone the spotlight on the BDSM novel.
Lovehoney has long been in on the secret that bondage-themed erotica is some of the most popular, and Xcite authors produce some of the kinkiest.
The latest novel from Xcite is The Perfect Submissive, and we've snagged an interview with author Kay Jaybee.
Read on as Kay Jaybee talks us through what goes into writing erotica, her inspiration and (in the words of Christian Grey) her 'hard limits' when it comes to being a BDSM author.
We read recently on the blog of Dr Brooke Magnanti (better known to some as 'Belle de Jour') that it appeared someone was attempting to have her very comprehensive advice on how to stay anonymous online removed.
Lovehoney has regular contact with a lot of sex toy reviewers and bloggers who wish to retain their anonymity for all sorts of reasons. At Eroticon 2012 we met with a lot of (for want of a more nuanced term) sex bloggers - some who wanted to stay entirely anonymous, some that were happy to use their full real name and even those, like Zoe Margolis, who had been outed against their will.
We sincerely hope the post remains up at the original blog and are re-posting the blog as per her request so that this information stays in the public domain.
After winning the first Lovehoney Erotic Writing Competition, Lily Harlem has been a seriously busy bee. Her saucy style won us over, and, as predicted, she’s back with a vengeance (and a new ebook! Hurrah!).
Even better, Lily’s new erotic novel Scored is available FREE for your Kindle this weekend only!
Click here to get your free Kindle copy of Scored (if you're in the US, click here)
Set during the steamy battle for the Euro 2012 champions title, Scored follows Nicky, a female sports reporter who lives, breathes and sleeps football. As the Euro 2012 competition hots up, so does Nicky’s relationship with hunky England captain Lewis Tate. His distant manner, arrogance and incredible ball-handling skills along with his sex-on-legs body leads Nicky on an intensely erotic road to victory. One which she is unlikely to forget in a hurry…
If you don't have a Kindle, check out this list of Kindle Apps - so you can still read it!
After reading about all those hunks in trunks we’re looking forward to Euro 2012 more than ever. And make sure to keep your eyes peeled for this year’s Erotic Writing Competition winner, it’s going to be a sizzling summer…
This scene from my story Off the Shelf, from new Xcite Books erotic romance anthology, Silk Stockings is the hottest, in my opinion. Why? I don't want to give too much away (you'll have to buy the book to read the whole story!), but throughout the novella, there's been lots of tension and will-they-won't-they action between the characters Annalise and Damien, and this is where things finally come to a head.
They've just been out for a lovely meal together, and have finally bitten the bullet and decided to do what they've wanted to do for a while - stop messing around and take their relationship to the next level.
I love this sex scene for several reasons: one, because the poor souls have waited so long for it; two, because it was so much fun to write; three, because I knew the pair of them were gagging for one another and four, because I finally got to see what Damien looked like naked - I have the biggest crush on him! Anyway, I hope you enjoy this taster of what's to come (pun fully intended) and consider checking out Silk Stockings which contains three seriously hot erotic romance novellas, Off the Shelf.

The erofic sensation of 2012, Fifty Shades of Grey is an erotic novel that has everyone from placid homemakers to high-powered business types eager for a cheeky BDSM thrill. There’s something incredibly alluring about the sexual tension between Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele, but a D/s lifestyle, contracts and all, is probably a little heavy for most of us and is an idea reserved for our darkest fantasies.
Between the timidity of sexual trepidation and the feet-first plunge into absolute sexual servitude is a middle line - bondage. For those of us who are intrigued, titillated and tempted by the relationship Ana and Christian enjoy, bedroom bondage offers an experimental platform to live the life of a master or slave for just a few hours.
In the story, Christian draws up a contract for Ana to sign, outlining the acts and paraphernalia she consents to. Some of the rules are a little heavy handed for normal play, but the sexy list of acts and accessories can form a delicious basis for role play. I’ve picked 10 of the sexiest mentions in Ana’s contract to offer inspiration for a filthy tryst inspired by Fifty Shades of Grey.
Unless you’ve been avoiding the internet, the TV and newspapers for the past couple of weeks, you’ll have heard some of the buzz surrounding the now mainstream erotic book Fifty Shades of Grey.
The first novel penned by E L James, a TV executive, wife and mother-of-two living in West London. The book was released in a small print run but became a near-overnight sensation as an E-book, topping the New York Times Bestsellers List. Even more amazingly, Focus Features and Universal Pictures have already bought up the movie rights and are seeking to bring the trilogy to the silver screen.
Originally penned as Twilight fan fiction, 50 Shades of Grey is the first in a trilogy of erotic books centering around Anastasia Steele (Ana), a sweet and chaste university student, and the gorgeous billionaire businessman, Christian Grey.
Ana’s gentle disposition gives way to her curiosity and unbridled lust for Christian as she begins to fall for him. Christian has some dark desires and only wants Ana if she’ll succcumb to them, on his terms. A passionate and forbidden affair ignites between them and what transpires is an emotional and physical journey that transforms them both.
During the course of this tense sexual thriller, you’ll follow their relationship in candid emotional and explicit physical detail, enjoying a rich and varied storyline resplendent with vivid depictions of their erotic adventuring. Intelligent, witty and incredibly sexy, this novel offers a unique insight into BDSM lifestyle and Dom/sub relationships and will be especially interesting for those whose partners don’t share their kinks.
Fifty Shades of Grey goes on general sale on the 13th of April, but you can order it from Lovehoney on pre-sale for £7.99 along with a free Lovehoney Whisper Bullet worth £9.99 - all delivered free!
And now we're very pleased to announce the Official 50 Shades of Grey Sex Toys- exclusively available online at Lovehoney
