After researching on the importance of using lube I remember using good ol' KY Jelly as my first ever buy. Since then I've tried quite a few but Pjur silicone lube was pure luxury.

Would love to try lovehoney's versions though. They seem to be good value and no doubt great quality.

A good lube is hard to find , finding a lube that lasts is even harder .
    • Tapsumbong: November 11, 2012 09:34
You simply cannot beat a good lube.

I've not yet tried LH's own brand. But my favourites have been Sliquid and Lubrifist...

Sliquid I tried, and it is fully organic (and orgasmic!). No nasty crud in it, which is awesome for ladies, as I can imagine there is nothing worse than a crappy lube when having sex.

Lubrifist is awesome for (as it's name suggests) but also anal (as well as solo) as it stays slippy for AGES!!

I still want to have a bash at lotion play..........

Although your new lube doesn't contain any animal ingredients, I wouldn't call it vegan friendly.

I've had this debate a lot with vegans, and most vegans adopt it has a lifestyle as well as a diet. =) There's studies which show the harmful effects of Propylene Glycol to dogs and cats, as well as it being dangerous to aquatic life.

I'm just being a tad fussy. I'm not vegan, yet know after chatting to a lot that, many would feel uncomfortable using a lube like this. =)

    • Tony: November 11, 2012 10:13
ID Juicy lube, especially the bubblegum flavour is the best tasting lube, good for anything but anal.
    • AliMc: November 11, 2012 10:13
Never thought about using lubricant for shaving before... does it have to be water based or silicone or can it be either?
    • dan: November 11, 2012 10:27
Lube is the way forward, don't leave home without it :)
    • PPD: November 11, 2012 13:11
Lube can be used to remove gum from hair - I'll have to remember that one! And I'll definitely have to try using it instead of shaving cream.

Well done for bringing out your very own lube! I'm sure it's just as good as everything else Lh branded :)

      Bring back BaconLube
    • rag doll: November 11, 2012 14:19
"LUBE...And the friction is gone!" love it!

lube, lube, glorious lube, nothing quite like it for being rude :)

ill tell you what bacon lube reminds me of: anyone remember the three course meal chewing gum that turned violet in to a blueberry in Charly and the chocolate factory!

i swear i must get through gallons of the stuff cos i can probably count the number of times i have had sex without lube on one hand. ity really does make everything feel better.

hmm, now for what flavour i would like to see. well i really wanted to try the posh desurt flavored ones, especaly the one with nut flavor but they got discontinued :( hmm perhaps icecream flavors. yes...rum and raisin methinks.

@Ness We have a really huge vegetarian and vegan component at Lovehoney (WAAAAAAAY higher than the average, I was surprised when I started here!) and we haven't had a vegan objection yet - though of course we can't speak for every vegan out there :)

@Alice, yep it's a tricky one. There's so many types of vegans out there!

Like some avoiding certain plastic, and even all plastics, due to animal fat slip agents. Although when given the correct conditioning time, these will leave the plastic within a day or two. If not they will sweat out into other things. Personally, it'd be nearly impossible to avoid. Although I have asked people like Quorn about their slip agents and they make certain they only use veggie ones to avoid contamination. I just found it interesting how many people freaked when reading about animal fat slip agents, and how far some people would go to live a vegan lifestyle.

Personally my main concern with Propylene Glycol is that it's used in things such as anti freeze and this may be part of the reason researchers have looked into it's affect on dog and cats, too. So much so that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration avoid using it in cat food. But again it's in so many things, even Lush uses it, although they are normally against using harmful animal products. There are other alternatives but they generally don't have as long a shelf life, so I understand that for that reason it's needed. Here's an interesting view from a vegan on lube: http://www.veganbeautyreview.com/2009/07/turn-up-the-heat-in-the-bedroom-vegan-style.html

Also I believe there's two ways to make it. I need to find my notes, but I'm pretty sure it's one of those things which can be made from either a plant by product or animal fat. Although,

If anything, this has made me want to borrow someones car when the frost comes and lube up their window screen and wait and see if the ice melts. It's a tricky one, so many myths and facts, but I so wanna try that out now to see. Or if it's just a misguided bit of information and means it doesn't freeze. I haven't tried to freeze a lube with it in before. I might do that today.

To me, it's unavoidable really, but to some, they will do their best to avoid it. Just one of those things. =)

Must chat with actual science dudes.... on my large list to do.

Lube is amazing. Whether it's to help you along if you have trouble becoming wet like I know some of my friends do.
Or if like me you have no trouble getting wet and excited, it can just help heighten the sensuality. Whether it be taste, smell or sensation ;)
