1. All the Discomfort is Worth it - Heels Help with Orgasms?

Tony's 5 Inch Platform Heel Lace Up Leg Shoes

Oh, it's time for men (and women) who love the look of a woman in a high heel to rejoice - the BBC is saying that wearing heels might improve our sex lives. Here I've always thought it was enough that wearing heels made me feel sexier and made me sexier to men, but an Italian urologist who likes her own heels is saying that that isn't the end of it. Apparently, wearing heels helps to strengthen our pelvic floor muscles (those are the ones that contract when you're having an orgasm - you know, the ones I'm always on about the need to strengthen with kegel exercises). Even better, though, is that this benefit seems to come from wearing a nice two inch heel that is more work-friendly than a stiletto:

"She [Dr Maria Cerruto] said her study of 66 women under 50 found that those who held their foot at a 15 degree angle to the ground - the equivalent of a two inch heel - had as good posture as those who wore flat shoes, and crucially showed less electrical activity in their pelvic muscles."

This could be good news for those of you who can't find the time - or aren't sure you're doing it right - to do your kegels. As she says:

"Women often have difficulty in carrying out the right exercises for the pelvic zone and wearing heels could be the solution."

"Like many women, I like high-heeled shoes," she added. "It's good to know they have potential health benefits."

I'm all for anything that helps us have stronger and more frequent orgasms, so go find yourself a pair of sexy shoes and see how many different ways they can help you out. And for those of you who like your ballets too much to give them up long term, I suggest the more traditional approach…
