But a threesome is not something to take lightly. There's the potential that it could also put an irreversible dent in your relationship: if you or your lover are prone to fits of jealousy, tread cautiously and weigh up whether it's worth the possible arguments that may ensue. Keep the following three rules for a threesome in mind when discussing the potential of having one with your lover:

1. The most important rule of all is to make sure that the only reason you are partaking in a threesome is because both you and your lover want one. Both of you! If you're just going along with the threesome because you want to please your partner, or even worse because you're sexually bored with them, then don't do it – you'll only hurt yourself in the long run.

2. Establish ground rules. It's easy to feel jealous as hell when watching your partner getting hot with another person right in front of you, especially if it's been quite some time since you've made them that wet/hard. So make sure you talk about what you are all comfortable with and what's off limits. You may want to ban kissing the third person on the mouth, for example, which you and your lover can keep exclusively for you.

3. Whatever you do, don't have a threesome with one of your mates!
