At LoveHoney we're big fans of safe sex, promoting the use of condoms and dental dams, but this entry in our Design a Sex Toy competition takes things one step further. Your skin is the biggest organ in your body, so why not protect it just as you do your more sensitive parts? Alternatively simply wash the come off when someone spurts in your face - or, if you're feeling kinky, try an easy-to-clean bondage hood...

Fantasy Fingers - Sex Toy of the Day

Retail is detail, and this also-ran entry in our Design a Sex Toy competition gets full marks for presentation ideas. Velvet coloured foam? Check. 'Buzz wipes'? Check. Fantasy booklet featuring male striptease photos with faces hidden unless shaving-ad handsome? These designers know what they like. Sadly this one didn't make it to our shortlist, and the nearest thing we do actually stock is probably the Tantus FeelDoe Slimline Vibrating Double Dildo, but you can still dream... see below:

Do you ever gaze at the cacti on trips to the garden centre and ask yourself, 'I wonder what that would feel like in - '? We didn't think so. The Bingo vibrator is one thing, but cactus spines are something else altogether. It looks from this shortlisted design in our Design a Sex Toy competition like the designer took more inspiration from old Road Runner cartoons than peyote. Or maybe the inspiration came from using both together. It's a shame we're not going to make this one - it could have been the Wil E. Coyote of the vibrator world, ready to crush all those cutesy rabbit vibrators into submission.
As ever, we've kept the grammar and spelling true to the original submission...

'Girls just wanna have fun', as a garishly painted pop star of yesteryear once sang, and that's all as it should be. But what about boys? With all the fuss about rabbit vibrators in the shops and the media, it's easy for boys to feel left out. Girls had a Sex and the City episode famously featuring a rabbit - we want to see something like the Anal Sensations vibrator, an also-ran entry in our Design a Sex Toy competition, appearing in the middle of an episode of Top Gear for equivalent impact, gawking in astonishment as a presenter describes the exquisite double action of the perineum massager and the anal banger. Don't we? Boys?

Looks painful, doesn't it? All those hard plastic edges and that long spiny bit... but educational somehow, the kind of toy you could hand in as the practical part of a Design GCSE exam. If they have such things. And your teacher might well prefer a CyberSkin Cyber Suck (if he's a he) or a Vibrating Rock Chick (if she's a she). Still, at least this also-ran entry in our Design a Sex Toy competition isn't made out of Meccano - that would mean the contestant, who we suspect to be someone close to LoveHoney's heart, really did have a screw loose...

If you've ever had a pantie-dampening moment while watching Attack of the Saucermen or Mars Attacks, or if you've suffered the trauma of alien abduction and want to put the experience behind you (not that hole, Mr Grey!) with some ribtickling sex-toy play, this is the vibe for you. The Promiscuous Pincer sex toy

If the words 'crabs' and 'sex' bring to mind only pictures of unwanted genital infestations, this entry in our Design a Sex Toy competition should encourage you to shrug off your kabourophobian prejudices (that means 'fear of crabs', for those of you who don't want to look it up). Having always been shocked and dismayed by the lack of marine-themed sex toys - just imagine what the eight-armed octopus could do! - we're tickled pink by the idea of the Promiscuous Pincer, 'inspired by the claw of a friendly toy crab'. All together now... aaaah!

The Knuckle Thruster sex toy

Make love not war! While many of the products LoveHoney stocks follow the swords into ploughshares concept - think of the missile-shaped Colt 12-inch Rocket Anal Tool, for instance - few toy ideas are quite as ingenious as this also-ran entry in our Design a Sex Toy competition. Apparently inspired by unsubstantiated accounts of gay Glasgow gangs adapting some of their favourite weapons in the wake of the first wave of ecstasy use in the late 80s, the knuckle thruster has it all: street smarts, adaptable connectors and vicious chic.
