    1. Spread 'em

Reviewed: 30 November 2013 by Sum Sub, a Straight Married Male

I spent a long time deciding which spreader bar to order, and finally plumbed for these ones.

I wanted a bar that would be wide enough to be uncomfortable but still be able to stand it. It was also important to me that they were strong, since I envisaged them having a tough life.

The bar as described is 30" long, and the cuffs are attached via some sturdy rings. The cuffs are not removable.

The leather of the cuffs is thick, strong and comfortable. The cuffs do up via a buckle with several size options, although it would be possible to make more holes yourself if required.

I have worn this bar on both my legs and my arms, and it is fine for use in both circumstances. It is much better when used on the legs though.

My wrists are 17cm circumference, and the cuffs fitted loosely round my wrist, there was one smaller fitting than the one we used. Due to the bar being loose around my wrist, it was fastened mid way up my arm, which was fine for a while, but after a bit of struggling the cuffs did come loose and back round my wrists. I think if used on my arms again, we would go for above the elbow. Or perhaps use some bondage tape below the cuffs to help keep them in place.

My lower leg just above the ankle is 27cm in circumference, and again the cuffs fitted comfortably here, with holes for bigger legs. I have a short leg - 29" inseam, and these bars spread my legs to the point where I was mildly uncomfortable, but still able to stand steadily for a length of time. We did not have the problem with slipping from the cuffs that we did on the warms.

Due to the dual ring arrangement by which the cuffs are attached to the bar, there is quite a bit of freedom of movement from the bar, which meant that when I was stood up, my legs at the point of the bar were were only 27 - 28" spread, but for someone of my inseam this is just about right for what I wanted them for. The fact that they have this range of movement also makes them easier to keep on for a long time - I had them on for well over an hour on my legs and could have worn for much longer.

The bar itself feels really sturdy, and the rings and cuffs similarly feel very robust. I put it through a lot of strain whilst on my legs, and at no point was I remotely afraid it wouldn't hold up. We also attached extra cuffs to the bar so that wrists could be attached to the bar at the same time as legs, and it also dealt with this no sign of weakness.

The bar has caps on either end, which means there are no sharp edges anywhere either.

This is a quality product, that is well made, well designed and well worth the price.

    1. Must have bondage item

Reviewed: 17 January 2013 by Lou22, a Straight Going Steady Female

We've only had this a short while but it's already had a thorough testing as it's now one of our favourite restraints.

Mostly we use for the legs rather than arms and couple it with bed restraints. or if I'm feeling bendy extra cuffs can be attached to the bar.

The 30" is the longest non-adjustable bar LH do and I and personally wouldn't want anything shorter as I don't think it would allow the same access. I suppose this may depend on your height. I'm 5'5", not particularly long-legged but the width of the bar isn't uncomfortable.

The cuffs I also find comfy as they have a nice soft lining.

The only downside is that I don't think the cuffs have enough holes. Although they fitted I may have got them a bit tighter.

    1. Spread 'em

Reviewed: 19 March 2011 by aanda, a Bisexual Married Male

We have been bondage fans for a while and have never found a really good restraint until now.

It spreads your legs well and if you use some more cuffs to attach the wrists to the ankles as we did, it leaves you perfectly unable to move and open for play, whatever your partner wants to do to you.

We've not had it long but it seems very well made, the cuffs look like they will really last.
