I bought the Nea as the first vibrator I'd had in years... newly single I thought I'd splash out. My reasoning was that you get what you pay for.

My Nea arrived 48 hours after buying it, and I was desperate to play with it straight away. It comes in this very elegant black box and it immediately feels like a quality product. It sits so perfectly in the palm of your hand, it reminded me of a smooth polished pebble, the kind you pick up at the beach. The black version is so beautiful, it looks like its been dipped in black lacquer and has a very pretty pink "tattoo" on it.

The Nea comes with instructions but you really don't need them, two buttons are easy to use, increase and decrease vibrations. The lowest setting is so subtle and totally silent, I held it in my hand and had to touch it to my cheek to check it was actually vibrating. There seem to be about 20 settings between lowest and highest so it's really about tailoring it to how you want it. Once you hit the highest setting, if you hold the "increase" button for a few seconds you can scroll through a selection of about 5 different modes of vibration... my favourite being one that starts from zero then increases the vibration in a crescendo... great for keeping you on the brink of O!

I've had the Nea for about a month and I've used it so often I'm not quite sure how I lived without it. It's so subtle and tiny I'm seriously considering taking it to New York with me next month on holiday... It does have a lock system so it won't set itself off... Lelo thought of everything!

I bought this toy after years of wanting it, when the price came down a bit.

It's so pretty! The vibrator and its charger sit on the floor by my bed, charging up, all sleek and white, with my sleek white mobile phone, and my sleek white mp3 player, and my sleek white Xbox controller, and my sleek white cordless mouse. It matches everything! If I had a Fiat 500 everything I loved would look like a snowball dipped in white lacquer.

It feels expensive to the touch - you know how some things just feel like they're made from pure, distilled quality? This is one of those things. It's like masturbating with an Aston Martin.

Straight out of the box it was intuitive. On, off, patterns, nice buzzy point. Sort of simple and frankly a bit of a letdown after so much hype. I started using it again a few days ago, and discovered a whole set of new tricks. It's just a little bit insertable. Just enough, in fact, to push the little nubbly bit right into the g-spot whilst the palm of my hand does its own thing to my clitoris.

Instant orgasms - orgasms so good that my typing goes screwy just thinking about them. But that's not all...

It's not just speedy, it's awesome. Turn the vibrations down, or set it on one of the patterns, and with the helpful self-control mechanism of a partner, it can be an hour-long trip into happy, dizzy, drooly, discombobulated orgasm heaven!

In short, it's pretty, it's perfect in its function and best of all it doesn't use conventional batteries, so if you run out of power at 2am on a Sunday, it'll be ready again by 2.30.

I'm not normally one for brand loyalty but I have to admit that I've loved every Lelo toy I've tried. I'd read reviews that Nea was a little lacking in power but I just couldn't resist her tiny, beautiful form! So how did she measure up?

Nea arrived in typically stylish Lelo packaging, with a hard plastic shell to display her in if you wish and a satin pouch for safekeeping. I chose her in white as I'm not such a fan of pink and I wasn't disappointed. The finish is pearl-like and sleek with a pretty silver flower design. Unfortunately, on closer inspection it seems the surface of my Nea had been slightly chipped, but I chose to overlook it.

The way I look at it, you can think of sex toys the way you think of a good lover. Some are rough and passionate, and some prefer to take it slowly with lots of foreplay and cuddling after. Well, Nea falls into the latter category; she won't rip an orgasm out of you, but rather coax it out with a slow, delicious build-up. That's not to say she's lacking in terms of power - I was really surprised by how strong her vibrations were! I'd say they were comparable to the new Mia Black, and that's quite strong enough for me. The form is really well designed, with the little nubby point at the end hitting the spot perfectly, and the curvy section providing a pleasant all-round stimulation.

My only gripes? Well, she isn't waterproof so you have to be careful with getting her wet. She also is very, very small, so she can move around if you don't have a good handle on her. Her controls are easy to use: a simple "up" and "down" button, and she comes with a travel lock. Noise-wise, she's not as quiet as her younger sister Mia, and has a slight high-pitched buzz, but she's still definitely nearer to silent than most toys.

If you're a real power-hound, then in terms of pebble vibrators I'd have to recommend the Je Joue Mimi. However, if you prefer slightly more gentle vibrations in amazingly stylish packaging then this is the one for you.
