    1. Product Description

Detonate the Doxy Die Cast and watch on in wonder as the mains powered wand convulses with vigorous vibrations. Reach new climactic heights in record time as your multispeed toy fires out breathtaking arousal through its soft silicone head.

Cold chamber die casting forms the aluminium/titanium alloy casing using high-pressure injection, which then goes through a 5 stage polishing process to create its lustrous finish. The result is a superbly luxurious and highly durable toy, for a lifetime of pleasure, guaranteed by Doxy for 12 months.

Transmitting vibrations through a soft and expansive silicone head, the mains powered wand massager boasts softly rumbling lower levels that reach up to ultra-powerful heights. While weightier (830g), the sizing is the same as other Doxy wands so it can take standard-size attachments.

Included with your wand is a sturdy zipped case to keep it secure and discreet between playtimes.

Slick the head with plenty of water-based lube before intimate play and sensual massages commence.

      Key Features:

    1. Original vs Die Cast

Reviewed: 07 August 2016 by alleyxandra

A year or so ago I was sent the Original Doxy Wand to review. Over a month ago (sorry for the delay Lovehoney!) I was sent the Die Cast so I could write a comparison review.

I'll try to keep this as short as possible, but there are quite a few things to cover!

If you're unsure what the Doxy is all about, let me give you a brief rundown. It's a mains-powered wand vibe, designed to blow your socks off and rock your world. It's an ultra-strong vibrator. It's not something I'd recommend to people new to vibes unless they'd be just as pleased to use it as a back massager if it's too strong for their uninitiated genitals.

The Original Doxy was nice, but I found myself disappointed overall because it didn't mesh with my body as well as I'd hoped. It was too broad, loud, strong and numbing. It ended up being used almost strictly for loosening my muscles when I'd strained them and needed to vibrate them into submission so I could sleep. Despite the original not being the best match for me, it was a good toy and I was unbearably curious as to the variances between it and the updated Doxy.

There are a few distinct differences between the Die Cast and the Original, like the extra weight, the sturdier-feeling casing and the not-as-strong vibrations. Then there's little ones, like the buttons having LED backlighting and how the silicone head means that it can be totally sterilized.

The buttons aren't a whole lot different aside from the new lighting, and I don't notice that in-use. The on/off button is still a life-saving kill-switch, both for interruptions and shutting it down as to avoid over stimulation once you orgasm. I wish all vibrators had one because it's so handy.

The Die Cast comes in a nice hardcover storage case, which I adore. It keeps it safe and hidden from prying eyes. It's fairly bulky, but that's hard to avoid with how large the wand itself is.

The Die Cast doesn't feel like it has as many speed variations as the original, though this could be my imagination. It also doesn't feel like it gets quite as strong, and the lowest speed is lower than on the original for sure. This isn't the end of the world, I for one am not a Power Queen and sometimes found the Original to be too strong on even the lowest speed. But, the vibrations themselves are slightly different. They feel just a smidge deeper, they have a lower frequency, which means I don't find myself being numbed like I would be with the Original. It means that they feel more stimulating even though, technically, they don't feel as strong on the surface. The vibrations on the Die Cast just reach slightly deeper, and it's more than enough, in my opinion.

It was hard for me to orgasm with the Original, as I'd always end up numb before I'd reach climax. The slight difference in vibration makes a world of difference for me, and the Die Cast is yet to fail me or numb me.

The Die Cast is also significantly quieter. It's certainly not whisper quiet, but it's a vast improvement over the Original, and is not anywhere near as obnoxious.

I was worried the extra weight may upset my weak wrists, but I found that it wasn't too much of a problem. If I'm using the wand without a head attachment and have to hold it in an odd position is can be a little frustrating, but mostly leads to crampy fingers rather than sore, tired wrists.

Speaking of an attachment, I solved the problem of the Doxy head being too large to position correctly by purchasing the Wand Nuzzle Tip Attachment (available on Lovehoney). It helped me get the directed stimulation I need, rather than the broad stimulation the Doxy offers on its own. If you've never had a wand but know you need somewhat direct stimulation, I'd recommend getting the Nuzzle Tip alongside your Doxy. It's especially handy when it comes to conquering large labia majora, meaning you don't need to spread them far open to get to your clitoris.

One annoying thing about the Die Cast is that it shuts off after 20 minutes. I assume this is to avoid overheating or to avoid some unknown damage that could be done by having such powerful vibrations in the same spot for too long, so I can't be too mad about it. You can turn it straight back on, so if you're like me and can't get off miraculously fast, even with a Doxy, you're not going to be under the pump to finish. I'm not recommending you ignore the apparent need for it to shut off, but it's easy to bypass is all I'm saying.

On the Original Doxy the neck had ridges which were a royal pain in the behind to clean. Thankfully the Die Cast has a nice, smooth silicone covered neck that is easy peasy to clean. You still have to be careful to avoid getting water in it, but at least there's no need to toothbrush scrub the neck to clean it right.

I prefer the Die Cast, but whether it's worth the extra money really depends on what you're after. If you want to be able to sterilize it and share it between partners; opt for the Die Cast. If you want something that feels sturdy, or you want the vibrations as rumbly as possible; opt for the Die Cast. If you're just after a wand vibe for the sake of a wand vibe, the Original is more than enough, and though feeling less sturdy because of its plastic casing, it is just as high a quality.

I will take the Die Cast over the Original any day. It gets me off reliably unlike the Original. The decrease in noise, the deeper vibrations and the hand-feel of the smooth aluminium makes it well worth it for me. Both are great wands, but the Die Cast has done what the Original failed to do and made me a fan.

    2. Overall Rating:
      9 out of 10 stars
      Pros
Feels good in-hand, rumbly vibrations, silicone, totally body safe.
      Cons
Head is still a bit too broad for me but easily fixed.
      Bottom line
Great wand vibe, strong, deep, gorgeous.
