Sex on fire
Reviewed: 26 August 2014 by Foxxy, a Straight Engaged Female
Spank me, whip me and if you want to, you can flog me, it’s all pleasurable pain, but set my flower on fire, and it seems I have a problem.
When this arrived from Lovehoney for me to test, I eagerly set about reading the box and the enclosed product leaflet, to see what this spray was about and what to expect from using it.
There are no real details explaining the science behind why this product (supposedly) works, so with nothing left to do, I opened the bottle and primed the pump to dispense one pump onto the back of my hand.
It felt pleasant on my skin, not tingly, just a sort of ‘stimulated‘ sensation, which felt nice. The smell was familiar. (I still haven’t worked out what it reminds me of). It's almost creamy and minty at the same time. So far so good, now onto my experiences when I used it on my lady parts.
The box suggests you spray the nozzle twice onto your vulva, allowing it to sink in for a couple of minutes before using condoms, etc. I opted to air on the side of caution and use just one pump initially.
Within about five seconds of it hitting my skin, I was aware of an intense warming sensation, which very quickly became a searing pain. In the name of science I went and got into bed and hoped the pain would subside soon. I think I lasted about three minutes before racing back into the bathroom to wash it off.
The cold water felt amazing, but the moment I took the water away from my vagina, the burning returned. It took a few minutes of bathing to get back to a bearable level of pain. I was horrified, absolutely nowhere on the box does it mention that the product will get hot, it doesn’t even say it will get warm! I honestly could’ve cried, and I went to sleep feeling very dejected.
Because I had been sent this to test, and I knew I’d have to write an honest review, I decided on another day that I would brave this spray again. Maybe I was wrong? Maybe I caved in and washed it off too soon? Would a different day lead to a different result? Short answer is no.
This bottle of fire is hideous. I honestly believe that it should be issued with a warning. I find it alarming that a company can produce and market such a potent product without warning consumers what they might experience when using this product. The lack of information is poor too, it does direct you to a website called Hot-Production.com (oh the irony), but you’ll find no extra useful details there either.
Does it tighten? Well, I suppose you could argue that it does tighten, but only in the same way your buttocks would if you sat on a hot plate! I was so clenched and tense, I couldn’t even insert a finger because any natural lubrication had vanished in the face of pain.
Sex for me would be an impossibility after using this, and to be honest there is no way I would allow my partner near me, for fear of causing him pain or discomfort too.
If you like to dabble in torture play, then I can recommend this spray for that!
I used to like the Kings of Leon song ‘Sex on Fire’, now when I hear it I’ll be thinking of the day my lady garden suffered a bush fire.
- The smell, that's about it!
- The unbearable heat, it's painful!
- Bottom line
- A waste of time and money. Should come with a warning.

Discreetly packaged, as you expect from LH, and was excited to try this spray out as soon as hubby was home from work and kids tucked up in bed for the night.
Has a surgical odour about it, which is a little off-putting. Remember, this is not a lubricant.
As the instructions stated, we sprayed a couple of squirts onto the vagina and clitoris and left for a couple of minutes to work.
Initial thoughts ? Stung like hell and then that's when the burning sensation started - and I mean burning! This was really, really hot and doesn't really get you in the mood for lovemaking one bit. My husband started to penetrate me and within seconds, he claimed his cock was literally on fire. But we had a review to do so carried on regardless. After 10 to 15 minutes the heat started to wear off and the lovemaking started to get more pleasurable.
Did I feel any tightening? Afraid not. This did nothing for me at all and is not worth £15.00 of your hard-earned money - unless of course you enjoy a lot of heat during your sex!
- The smell and the intense heat.
- Bottom line
- Not what we expected, didn't do what it said it was supposed to do.
