Lelo Tara Rotating USB Rechargeable Clitoral and G-Spot Vibrator 9 out of 10 (10 reviews) Write your own review
Small, but very effective
Reviewed: 02 September 2014 by Ariel's, a Bisexual Going Steady Male
A real star (like the star goddess Tara).
An excellent experience that forced us to reorder more 2 items for our best friend and a spare for us (the one with the remote control)!
The quiet rotation is misleading - it's one of the most effective toys we have experienced for long time.
- Very precise, quiet double-action.
- Really nothing!
- Bottom line
- A small expensive toy, that's worth the price.

My OH bought this as a present a few weeks ago. We are only just getting round to writing the review as it takes up most of our evenings and free time.
Firstly, we were excited to receive it swiftly in the post and to find out that we would also receive the Lelo massage candle free, which was nice as we had never spent so much money on a toy before!
The packaging was nice, simple and came with a small drawstring pouch for keeping the toy in. There is also a 1 year warranty and a registration card to extend the guarantee for longer. We got the toy in black, which looks good. Feels sleek and smooth to the touch and doesn't look tacky like some other vibrators.
The battery life is very long. I have only charged it once and have used it about 10 times!
The quietness of the toy was important to me as I live in a flatshare. This hasn't been an issue whatsoever as it is barely audible when inserted.
I found that using the Lelo solo is amazing and I can usually climax within 5minutes. It is easily insertable and I don't normally even need to use lube, though if we are planning to both use it together lube is needed.
The vibrating circular top is perfectly positioned for me and the small rotating arm seems to be at the optimum point for inside stimulation around my G-spot.
The only negative thing I have to say about using it is that when things get very wet and slippery down there I have found it difficult to find and press the small button to go on to the next setting.
Using it together: From his perspective, for it to be amazing he has had to be careful and precise when inserting his penis. He found it a little painful sometimes when it wasn't inserted carefully, so he says that more lube is definitely the answer. Lelo handily included a small sachet of water-based lube so you can use the toy straight away which we appreciated.
He also liked his own sensations from the vibrations and experimented with putting pressure on the circular top during different settings.
We found that using it with me on all fours produced the best pleasure and it has a huge advantage over other vibrators for being "hands free" in this position. During sex I found that the vibrations and sensation of being totally filled increased the amount of orgasms I could have.
Overall it is a great addition to the bedroom and well worth the £100 if you've got it!
- Colour, styles, sleekness, power of vibrations and rotations.
- Size of settings button.
- Bottom line

Stimulation through rotation that both partners will love
Reviewed: 30 September 2013 by Cara Sutra, a Bisexual Going Steady Female
For many fervent lovers of sex toys, LELO is the go-to brand. With luxurious materials, stylish designs and cutting edge technology, LELO time and time again prove why they are the leading name in the adult products industry.
I was contacted by Lovehoney and asked whether I'd like to try out then review the brand new sex toy from LELO. I'd heard about Tara through the trade grapevine and was intrigued as to the mechanisms in this alternatively shaped product.
The Tara vibrator I was sent is black in colour, but it's also available in Midnight Blue or Deep Rose colour. Black, blue or dark pink, basically. The LELO Tara retails for £99.99.
The packaging for the LELO Tara vibrator is as classy as ever, keeping in the style of the rest of the LELO range with a glossy, information packed cardboard outer housing a lidded box holding the product inside.
Within the white, LELO branded lidded box you receive:
The LELO Tara Rotating Couples Massager Vibrator
Black drawstring top storage pouch
USB charging lead
Instruction manual & warranty details
LELO product registration card
Free sample of luxury water based LELO Personal Moisturiser (sex lubricant)
Being a rechargeable sex toy, before you come to use the LELO Tara you need to charge it up. Unlike previous LELO vibrators and many other types of rechargeable sex toy, the LELO Tara charges with a USB lead instead of arriving with a mains plug. This gives you the option of charging either via any USB port, or combining with your own USB to mains if you want to be able to plug it into the wall.
Just plug one end into the socket on the side of the Tara vibrator, and the other end into your USB port and you will notice a small orange LED on the side of the toy letting you know it's charging up. I left it charging up over night, rechargeable sex toys generally take between 6-8 hours, sometimes more, to charge up the very first time.
The LELO Tara doesn't just vibrate - oh no. It also rotates, similarly to the Nexus RevO 2. As well as being a wonderful design feature, this very cleverly distinguishes itself from the We-Vibe range of sex toys (thereby avoiding any more trouble on that front!).
At first I wondered just how I was meant to insert this, and how it was in any way meant to be comfortable. It's actually ingenious; the gently widening, tapered tip shaft is placed inside the vagina while the flexible but durable silicone allows the toy to bend so that the circular area is in direct contact with the clitoris and surrounding, sensitive area. His penis slips into you underneath the toy, so not only do you have the pleasure of internal vibrations and rotation, and clitoral stimulation, he also enjoys the movement and vibration from the LELO Tara, adding immeasurably to the experience.
I've used the LELO Tara on quite a few occasions now and apart from a couple of small issues it's a fantastic couples sex toy. It's compatible with water based lubricant only, as it's a silicone sex toy (flame tested and everything!). The material is smooth and responds well to physical contact, sliding inside the vagina easily with or without the aid of lube, in my experience.
The wider area makes for brilliant G-spot probing and stimulation and as the clitoral stimulator is a generously proportioned, circular area, this helps keep the vibrations on your clit no matter how vigorously you move during sex.
The small textured area on the side of the LELO Tara denotes the power button and you simply press this to scroll through the 6 different vibration speeds and patterns.
Various vibration pattern
During sex the LELO Tara adds something new and exciting. I love the We-Vibe 3 but the rotation from LELO Tara is a new sensation and we both enjoyed it very much. He particularly loves when he's inside me at the same time as something else anyway (pervert) so that was an added buzz, excuse the pun. Although the majority of the vibrations from the circular clitoral stimulator were directed at me, he also benefitted from these from the other, metallic disc side, although not as strongly. The vibrations throughout the device ramped up the eroticism of sex to astonishing levels and sex with the LELO Tara was the best in a long time.
The issues I had with the LELO Tara during use were not of complete devastation to the toy. I'd like the constant vibration to be much more powerful, but then I have been spoilt by the likes of the mains powered Doxy Massager. The internal shaft could be wider, but then I am not a vibe virgin and I do like things on the extreme side. I would prefer a remote control with a couples vibrator - so the Ida may have been more suited to my personal use after all, after having to sit up half way through sex each time if I wanted to change the vibration setting in any way.
Fumbling between bodies for the small raised areas that alerts you to where the button is was not easy especially in the heat of the moment and with a slippery sex mixture between us and coating the product.
On the plus side, the LELO Tara couples vibrator is completely waterproof, so no matter how messy you get, it won't damage the toy (as long as you keep everything water based - or bodily fluid based - not silicone lube). It's easy to clean after use, just rinse off in soapy water, dry and spritz with your favourite anti-bacterial sex toy cleaner, leaving to dry naturally for a hygienic finish.
In the future, I would like to see a LELO version of the We-Vibe Thrill, whereby the internal shaft is larger meaning a toy used for female solo stimulation. For now though, the LELO Tara is a wonderful creation that brings something new and exciting to the bedroom that both partners can enjoy. It doesn't detract from the intimacy between you; it merely serves to heighten the pleasure while adding touches of stimulation that form a completely rounded sexual experience for both partners, every time.
- Luxurious material, amazing design, fab rotation! Waterproof & rechargeable too.
- I'd like a bigger shaft & more powerful vibrations, but no biggie!
- Bottom line
- This is a completely unique, luxury couples vibrator which gives outstanding performance

Ooh la la Lelo - a Tara made for two
Reviewed: 16 January 2014 by mrsdivine69, a Straight Married Female
I won't bore you with all the details you'll find in the spec. Suffice to say, Lelo are at the top-end of the sex toy market and it shows.
Turning her on alone produced a smile and a flutter of my inner erogenous zones.
Mmm! That super-sexy little rotating finger in my hand had me turning to liquid and counting down the minutes until I could escape to test-drive.
Tara is so different to any other toy I own and she's introduced me to a whole new world of hands-free bliss. A girl can never have enough hands at sexy time.
At the first insertion attempt, she was like the average man - she was in the general area but not quite hitting the spot. (Sorry guys.)
After a bit of adjustment, she felt like she'd been made to measure. A tip - spread the labia to hold the pad in place and receive optimum benefit from the pulses.
I use a small dab of Lelo lube on the rotating finger - not to assist with insertion, but for comfort. Without, I felt a little tender from the inner finger after use. Having said that, it was in use a long while. I think she lasts approx 1 1/2 - 2 hours from a full charge.
Being fully waterproof, I tried her in the Jacuzzi - Despite the strong vibration of the bubbles, I could still feel the pulsation. It was one of the most delicious bathing experiences ever. She should be remarketed as a stress-relieving toy too.
Tried solo in every way possible with some sexational results. I even tried slipping her in place under a pair of tights. She stayed in place and was extremely arousing. It was a different sensation to my much loved Lelo Lyla 2 love egg, with much louder buzzing. You wouldn't get away with it in company as a panty toy to wear in public, unfortunately. Don't get me wrong, it is not noisy when used in the bedroom as intended. All Lelo toys are comparably quiet. I was just trying to be creative and get every cent out of her.
Tara is marketed as a couples toy and again we tried her in as many positions as we could think of. Being a gadget guy, my husband was fascinated with her and had great expectations. He had no issues slipping in alongside Tara. He could feel the rotating finger but said it didn't give him the anticipated arousal expected. It was just 'OK'. It was a shame really, because it was great for me. Hey-ho! As other reviewers have said it's not really suited to overtly vigorous activity - more like the cocktail 'a slow comfortable screw'.
The advantage I found was the hands-free clitoral arousal. It was in no way as accurate as my trusty hand-held Lelo Mia 2 but it did leave the hands free for other activity.
Wanting to be thorough for reviewing, I have also used her in conjunction with a Doc Johnson UR3 dildo - A truly orgasmic experience, but I am a big fan of my UR3 boyfriends and anything would partner well alongside.
The Lelo Ida appears to be the same item with a wireless remote. If I was choosing again - I'd pay the extra to get this added bonus. Having a Lelo Lyla 2 love egg with a wireless remote, I know how it assists with the controlling. I have to agree with other reviewers that the Tara is a bit fiddly to switch between vibration patterns once in place, especially if lubed-up, but I'm just being picky for the review sake.
Overall, on initial use Tara did not evoked the 'Buy me now - every woman should own one' response that my other Lelo products have. But, now we have become better acquainted, she is most definitely growing on me. It is an expensive item, hence the long review. I've tried to cover every aspect so that you know what you're getting for your coin.
I anticipate Tara will be used more for solo play or as a personal foreplay toy for me, before my man gets his kit off and joins the party. He may let her stay or she may be kicked out as a gatecrasher before he takes over. He's still unsure. It's a shame because it is marketed as a 'couple's toy'.
I'll have to go now. It's time for a Jacuzzi with an erotic novel, a glass of wine and my new best friend, Tara. Our friendship is growing with every use.
- Superb quality.
- It didn't quite live up to my man's high expectation re male stimulation.
- Bottom line
- Great for hands-free stimulation.

Great toy for my G-spot exploration
Reviewed: 16 December 2013 by Laveila, a Straight Single Female
I bought this toy as a treat to myself. I was wondering how the rotating shaft would feel inside me and I was bit unsure about the rotating motion, as I was always put off by rabbits (apart from the noise) because I thought the rotating beads would do very little for me. But the reason I decide to give Tara the try is mainly me wanting to experiment with various sensations and trying to find out what works best for my G-spot. Having a rotating shaft, not beads, but shaft, seemed more appealing to me than rabbits.
Box and charging:
The toy arrived in classy Lelo box which was shorter than some of the toys which actually have a remote control in the box. In the box you get the toy itself, charging cable, sample of Lelo lube, the warranty card and manual, as well as a satin bag to store the toy in. The toy is charged via USB cable and there is no adapter for the mains charging, so you will have to get one, if you do not want to use the laptop.
The light flickers when you charge it and goes still when charged. I find that for one charge you get decent number of use time, several sessions, depending how long they last. I do think the toy will go for about 2 hours, which Lelo claims.
I have used the toy so far as solo toy only. My first try was a disappointment, as I found that I cannot really get the toy to fit over my clit when the shaft is inserted. It could be the large surface which prevents me getting the stimulation I would need on my clitoris. But the external stimulation is nice nevertheless, although it would not let me orgasm from it alone. I also find that the single continuous speed is not a strong one, so women preferring stronger vibrations will be disappointed. The Tara does have a nice selection of patterns, slow pulsation, quick pulsation, slowly increasing power, fast increasing power.
The disappointment soon turned into enjoyment thought, as I found that the rotating shaft hits my G spot perfectly. I found that this is a second toy so far which actually made me reach G spot orgasm. The rotating shaft works great for me to slowly build the pleasure until I reach the final. Now I can reach G spot orgasm most of the times I use this toy.
Personally I find that the best position for me to use the toy in is on my back, with my legs closed, as this keeps the toy in place. I am bit paranoid about the toy moving round because of the rotating shaft. I actually found that if I keep my legs slightly opened, the toy starts to move out of your body, with the rotating shaft movement.
I know this toy is meant to be a couples toy, but I have to say that I can see one problem with it, even without using it with a partner. The inner shaft is bit thicker than for example Lelo Tiani. This, I believe, could be problematic for women, who are bit tighter or have bigger partner they want to use this with, as it may be hard for them to comfortably fit both the penis and the toy inside them. On the other hand, I can imagine, that this toy will be a good toy for women, who like the idea of rotating toy, they do not mind the bigger size of the toy along side their partner inside them.
Also this could be a toy for those who are looking for solo toy, want to try rotating toy, but are worried of rabbit vibrators size or not too fond of the beads in a rabbit´s shaft. This could also be used by those looking for solo toy, but cannot use bigger toys, as when used solo, this is small toy.
I personally do think that this toy can be used as solo toy and I am sure it will work well as couple toy too in most situations.
I found that the Tara is amazing addition to my collection of toys, as it is one of the toys which actually works very well for G-spot stimulation and orgasm. I do find that the toy can be used as both a solo and couples toy. But I do think there are few downsides. The external part of the toy will not fit every single woman. The toy only has 1 continuous speed which is not one of the strongest, but there is a nice selection of patterns to choose from. I would like to see a second version with stronger continuous speed in the future.
- The rotating shaft, colour, battery life, good choice of vibration patterns.
- Single continuous speed, not really powerful continuous speed.
- Bottom line
- Great toy with some space left for improvement.
