So, a surprise parcel arrived and I was intrigued to see what it held... I was slightly disappointed with the packaging. It was, it’s fair to say, ‘basic’, but then again I’d rather have a decent quality item than ‘garnish’. I only mention this in case it’s being purchased as a gift.

When I’ve bought items like this before with preformed cups it’s been a gamble - with 34e boobs things can get a bit ‘squashy’, but this fitted perfectly!

I am a size ten to twelve and the overall fit was spot on. That wasn’t my initial impression when I took it from the packaging though - because it looked a little on the small side, however there is a fair amount of ‘give’ to the fabric and I did wonder whether I’d even be able to get it on, let alone it looking right.

The overall look was lovely, a hint of pattern to the fabric (and it doesn’t look like it’ll fall apart after a wash or two). However I did find a downside. You can see in the pictures that there are 2 ‘bones’ running vertically on each side. I found that these deformed when sitting down, especially when leaning forward a little. By deformed I mean that they creased or ‘pinged’ outward away from the body. Certainly in such a pose the basque lost much of its sexiness as the clean lines it created vanished! I’m 5’2, so I wonder if the same effect would happen with someone a little taller - perhaps not, but it’s worth bearing in mind. Under the right clothes that may not show, but in the flesh so to speak it was clearly visible and not so good.

Unfortunately the stockings were too long for me, even with the suspender straps adjusted to their maximum there was still a good inch of ‘play’ that shouldn’t have been there. In fact I’d say that it was a combination of my little legs and the straps themselves being a touch too long - possibly for someone of 5’6 or more they’d work better. The suspenders themselves were secure, there was no need to keep adjusting or refixing which I have had with other similar items.

The G-string was actually quite nice. I didn’t wear it for an extended time. Hubby saw to that! But it wasn’t cheap and tacky and matched the rest of the outfit perfectly.

Overall I think this will make a good addition to anyone’s lingerie drawer.
