Not for the Indecisive
Reviewed: 04 Jul 2012 by SugarySweet, a Going Steady Straight Female
When I read the other reviews I was quite surprised and a bit disappointed because I only had good thoughts about this vibe and even love it a little bit.
Firstly this vibrator is really fun, from its colour to its soft and smooth feel to its crazy multiple choice speeds and patterns. If you're not into a vibe that has a LOT of varying patterns to choose from then definitely don't choose this one.
Other reviews have commented that the battery section was complicated which really left me confused. You twist open the cap, put your batteries in (another comment was that there were no instructions on which way up to place your batteries, which is not true, the white plastic rim has little batteries pictured in the up or down positioning requirements), line up the lock, push the cap on and re-twist it. It definitely isn't rocket science.
You've got three buttons that are small raised bumps on the side of the vibe at the base which I really liked, I detest having to fiddle with something that looks like a TV remote.
The plus button is your on button which also controls your speed up a level. You have a MODE button in the middle which controls what pattern you wish to work with. The modes are pretty crazy, it's multiple choice on steroids. I don't think it really needed quite so many but they're all good and it provides a fun little intro [if you're including your partner] for you to choose together and make things a bit more interesting. Then of course there is the minus button which of course lowers the speed and turns the vibe off.
I liken the Zizo to your remote or your mobile phone, once you're used to it you can work it with your eyes closed.
The insertion is comfortable and smooth, it has a really nice slight curve that I found really pleasurable, its definitely wasn't too big or painful. The sound is impressive, I'd actually say near silent on its minimum speed, as you get higher into the hand numbing speeds then you get a little noise but still quieter than the bullet.
I haven't tried it under water yet but it's definitely a feature plus.
I would recommend the Zizo to most women, if you're only interested in using a vibrator for solo play or you need a quick release then perhaps this vibe isn't for you. However, if you're a couple or you like to relax and have some quality time alone then this would be perfect.
Definitely one of my favourites.

It all started so well

It's difficult to sum up this vibe. I think it'll be somewhat of a Marmite item.
It looks good and is made of a nice smooth material. It's not too big although it seems to have the right effect on my OH. The shape is good and hits the spot internally or externally.
The battery compartment is slightly confusing and takes a while to get in the right place, replacing the cap isn't the easiest.
The different modes are pretty much the same, and are best used on the strongest setting.
Getting used to the mode buttons can be awkward. The buttons aren't the biggest and you have to make sure you get the right one. It's quite easy to spoil the moment.
All cons aside, once you've got used to it this is a very good vibe.

- Pros
- Material, shape, size, power (eventually).
- Cons
- The battery compartment, the buttons, the dangly attachment, the different modes.
- Bottom line
- Does what you want it to do but could do better.

Unpronounceable name

After opening the bag, we then spent around 10 minutes placing batteries into it. No clear instructions on which one goes up and which one goes down (ooh err ;) ).
And actually trying to put the lid back on took another 5 minutes, bit too fiddly to bother with if it dies when you least want it too!
The 12 modes or so it claims to have, I would say 10 of them are pretty much the exact same mode, very little to difference between them, which is a little bit disappointing.
You turn it on by holding the plus sign button and carry on holding it to turn it up to the max. To slow it down it's via the minus button. Can be very frustrating to have to stop, try and find the button and start it again, kills the moment a little. To change the mode you push the button with a little m on in-between the + and -.
I found the shape of the vibrator didn't really suit me although the texture of it is very nice. It worked best for me as an external vibe rather than an insertable one.
-
- Pros
- Strength of vibration on maximum.
- Cons
- Battery cover, fiddly buttons.
- Bottom line
- Worth £10-15, but no more. Probably won't replace your favourite.
