I've never been able to have anal penetration during sex, but have always enjoyed a finger and wanted to try a bit more. This toy was a lovely beginner product at a good price. I like the way it looks, and liked the finger loop design.

This felt amazing but was actually a little on the small side for me, but it just means I get the challenge of trying the next size up! Would definitely recommend this product to novices.

Lovehoney recently sent me the Mini version of the Jolie "pleasure plug" range by NSNovelties to review as a product tester. Having found similar products to be too small for me in the past, I was a bit hesitant at first, but have been pleasantly surprised at how enjoyable this little toy is.

At just under a tenner, it's excellent value for money, and would be particularly suitable as an introductory toy for someone who's just starting to experiment with anal play. It's also great to use as a dilator, no matter what your experience level, though anal aficionados and "size queens" may prefer to try the Medium or Large versions of this toy (for comparison, the Medium is roughly one and a half times the size of the Mini).

The box this toy came in is tasteful and small, featuring a transparent window on one side and a picture of the plug on the other (which is the same size as the actual toy). The care instructions on the box recommend cleaning the plug with liquid anti-bacterial soap and hot water after use, then patting down with a cotton towel before allowing to air dry.

The plug is made from a latex and phthalate-free flexible TPE plastic, with a finger loop for easy removal. The plastic is clear in colour, is odourless, and has a jelly-like texture (but is not sticky).

It's an ideal plug for absolute beginners due to its small size. It's only a couple of inches long, with a tapered shape which is only three inches in circumference at the widest point, which is very easy and comfortable to insert - though a little lubricant always helps. It's safe to use both water and silicone-based lubes with this toy.

Though it's a unisex toy, the tapered shape is perhaps slightly less suited to the specific needs of a male user, as it does not really stimulate the prostate; gentlemen who seek more direct stimulation of this area may prefer to use a more anatomically-shaped plug. It's a great toy for ladies who wish to experience the sensation of being penetrated both vaginally and anally at the same time, and the toy is perfect for use as a warm-up tool for receiving partners of any gender before pegging or anal intercourse.

The toy's size makes it perfect for wearing discreetly under clothes, too - perhaps as extended foreplay or part of a BDSM activity. It's a good idea to exercise extra caution when wearing the plug for more than a few hours at a time, such as being alert for any signs of abdominal discomfort and giving the plug a rinse every so often to keep it clean.

Being made from see-through plastic, the plug also functions in a similar way to a rectal speculum, in the sense that it's possible to use this toy just like a transparent speculum for visual enjoyment while being worn. This would make a great piece of kit for someone who's into a bit of medical fetish.

Although I personally prefer the clear colour to the transparent pink that the Small and Large versions of this toy come in, I would have liked to have the chance to own a matching set of all clear (or all pink) plugs of this style, as is possible when buying the various sizes of the "Orbite" plugs available from this same manufacturer.

Out of all the mini plugs I've tried so far, the Jolie is by far the best of the bunch - c'est très bien :)

I bought this plug as an absolute beginner to anal play, wanting a very small and unintimidating plug.

When this arrived I actually thought it looked a little smaller than I had first imagined. But when I used it, it felt just right. I wouldn't have to worry about this falling out as it's really nicely shaped, however the finger loop is a little too small and has a tendency to slip inside as well!

May have to attach a tail to it so it's easier to remove. But this will feel really nice to wear whilst having sex with my OH.
