    1. Great in bed? Probably not

      Reviewed: 12 Mar 2012 by kelly_michelle

I'm going to be honest from the start of this review. I'm not sure about this book.

It covers a large range of topics, such as first dates, masturbation, anal, safe sex, toys, sexual ruts, orgasms and more.

If you were looking for information on a specific topic (anal, BDSM, oral et cetera) I would probably recommend not buying this in favour of something aimed directly at what you want.

However, if you are looking for something more general this book does have a reasonable amount of detail.

I think this book would be good for someone who is not very confident when it comes to dating and sex but less useful for someone in a long-term relationship.

I don't regret buying this book, and I have learnt some things from it, but I don't think it has improved my performance in bed. I do wonder whether the title of this book isn't quite suitable for the content, giving the reader too high expectations, and that if it was called a beginners guide or something my review would have been more positive.

    1. Not That Great In Bed

Reviewed: 02 Mar 2012 by cheerfulwaster, a Married Straight Male

This book was sent to me as a "test and review" by Lovehoney.

I've been with my wife now for nearly 15 years and there's not much we haven't done in bed! As a result a lot of what this book talks about covers the basics, in not too much detail, and while we ran through the content (for the purposes of testing) it was pretty much "ordinary" lovemaking for us.

There is not too much detail in the content, which means you can explore without being told what to do, but if you know the basics you probably need to look elsewhere to get more out of your lovemaking.

I find the Tracey Cox books much better and much more helpful in terms of how to drive your sex life forward with plenty of ideas and "taboos" to try and learn through.

      Pros
It's written clearly and in "laymens" terms. Well structured.
      Cons
It's just not that detailed. If you know the basics don't buy.
      Bottom line
An okay introduction if you need some tips.
