LAYAspot hits the spot
Reviewed: 11 Apr 2013 by BC 2, a Married Straight Female
My husband bought this for me as a present. It is an excellent clitoral vibrator, with great sensations and orgasms.
It can also be used to stimulate very effectively your vaginal lips and entrance to your vagina. It also is very handy for holidays being non-phallic, quite small, quiet and fits into your wash/makeup bag.
If I was on "Dessert Island Discs" and was allowed to choose two vibrators, it would be one of these providing my other choice provided both clitoral and penetrative stimulation. A 5 star perfomer.

- Pros
- Good performance with great value for money.
- Cons
- Nothing.
- Bottom line
- Great clit vibe.

A repeat order
Reviewed: 18 Aug 2011 by Caduceus
A replacement order for a 2007 model.
Our 2007 purchase had become increasingly noisy as the internal workings had slowly worn. With children now approaching secondary school it was time for an upgrade.
Out of the box, not much has changed. Still very high quality, and an improved end cap. The new one is much quieter and seems a little more powerful.
See original review for more details.

- Pros
- Quiet, compact and non-threatening.
- Cons
- Could be thinner.
- Bottom line
- Excellent quality toy.

Tidy Little Package

Awwww! This massager vibrator is soooo cute! It's dinky but it's proper good!
I decided to get mine having read the other reviews, and the 10% off seemed like a good incentive! Very pleased I did too.
Got mine today, super fast delivery as standard - thank you Lovehoney!
First off I thought it was tiny - much smaller than I had expected - but actually it's fine. I really don't know what I was expecting as this is a perfectly designed toy and fits just right in the palm of my hand.
Mine's red/silver (it's probably marketed as grey but to me shiny grey IS silver!) and it really does look the bees knee's :) It's also possible I am a little biased as red is my favourite colour.
The red (coloured) part, the main bulk of body, has a very tactile feel to it - like silicone but not, hard to explain but it's definitely not as hard-feeling as the silver (shiny grey) bits. Neither of these points detract from the product by the way - I'm trying to tell you how nice it feels!
The batteries are 2 AAA and easy-peasy to insert and the lid is a pop and click-type affair - no threads to cross. Operation is easy-peasy too: +button for on and more and more; -button to decrease sensations and switch off. I found I had to press the -button more than I thought I'd have to to properly turn it off - although that's probably just me getting used to it. I thought it was off but it was, in fact, on a very low minimal vibration still.
There are several levels of vibration - I lost count! And likewise pulsations - when it's pulsing the glow from the buttons pulse in time to them! Considering there are only 2 little batteries powering the Laya Spot they do an amazing job - believe you me it does pack a powerful punch! (And I like powerful sensations.) The HUGE plus and amazingness is also that it is very quiet, considering the power. I wouldn't say it's super silent but it is really good in this department.
The design is lovely as it stays sitting where I want it when using with a vibrator - especially lush when using a pulsating G-spot vibrator. Much fun to be had getting the Laya to pulsate in time with the vibe! I'm also WELL pleased to discover it fits with the Doc Johnson iRide too, so I can use both together - especially when in reverse cowgirl position on the iRide! BLISS!
I also use my Laya as a massager on my neck and shoulders - anywhere I'm feeling a little stiff/achey - and this works a treat too. The handy size just makes the Laya easy to use as such.
My only (teeny) whinge is no storage bag, but it's not really a big deal as I don't have any problem leaving my Laya out on the bedside table - it's the least offensive/intimidating-looking toy I own. I don't mind any of my toys but this one really is so cute and harmless looking I have no quibbles whatsoever leaving this one lying around!
This toy is proper quality and am really pleased I've added it to my collection. If you are looking for a fun toy that is a bit different get one and enjoy! Especially while there's 10% off Fun Factory products at the moment, you can't go wrong! Trouble is I'm so impressed by my Laya Spot I'm now looking at the other toys in the Fun Factory range to see what else I fancy next...!
-
- Pros
- Build quality, settings & power, size, uses, design & colour, relative quietness.
- Cons
- Storage bag woud have been handy but otherwise nothing.
- Bottom line
- This proves that GOOD things DO come in small packages!

Great!

Excellent little vibrator and well worth the money. I haven't really tried this out with my partner but it's more for nights away.
The different pulse settings were a novelty to me but I'd have to say the short and fast ones were definitely the better of the three. Saying that, the basic continuous vibe was good on its own. The controls make it easy to switch between settings while using it which made things interesting and have given me some of the best orgasms in my experience.
I got mine in blue and it has earned the nickname of 'my 'lil blue friend'. The silicone texture is very smooth and much better than other jelly vibrators which I find tend to catch (and hurt!) unless a lot of lube is used. The shape is very ergonomical and makes it very easy to use, however I did try to use it upside down first time. It is one of the nicer looking vibrators and is something that could be left sitting out without calling too much attention to itself.
Overall I'd recommend this to anyone wanting to splash out a bit on a good looking and practical vibrator. For me it ticks all the boxes.

- Pros
- Great vibrations, funky design, amazing orgasms.
- Cons
- Nothing at all. Love it!
- Bottom line
- 'My 'lil blue friend' – a cute companion.

Good

First impressions:
The LAYAspot comes in a box with one side moulded plastic, and the other side magnetic closure with instructions and information. The box is reasonably sturdy but quite easy to collapse from the bottom.
On the box it suggests that the owner should "love yourself!", and in diagram form tells us not to put the vibrator in ears or up noses. I don't know if that's a common problem in Germany, but I can't say I've heard of anyone doing either!
On the magnetic closure side there is a little sales blurb about FUNFACTORY products in four languages (you too can learn to say hypo-allergenic in Spanish), and a brief description of the vibrator itself.
It describes the LAYAspot as "the perfect Vibe!", which is confident if nothing else.
On the other side of the gate fold there is a diagram of the vibrator and a key for where everything goes, along with some general descriptions such as "extremely quiet", and "skin friendly".
The only picture on the box is a line drawing of the vibe itself. The box is cream, grey and red in colour. There are no naked people, no pouting and no claims of use by pornstars. It is simple, reasonably well styled and would make a great gift for someone who is put off by the usual packaging styles.
Getting it out of the box is simple. Pull open card box and pull out the plastic tray.
The vibe is sat inside a moulded plastic tray which just pings open upon removal from the box.
Also inside the box is the instruction leaflet which although short is pretty informative, and a sachet of lube called "Bodyfluid Lovegel". Probably not a name I'd have chosen, but perhaps that doesn't sound quite as much like an embarrassed euphemism in German.
The vibe:
It comfortably fits in my hand, the curve midway along means that each side fits easily in my palm.
It looks to me vaguely like a small phaser (and I'll admit to having a few moments pretending to zap the cat while examining it).
The colours are really nice. Mine is the blue, and it is somewhere between baby blue and sky blue. It does look quite arty, and if you have quite naive housemates/parents you could probably get away with leaving it on the side. The blue parts are 'elastomed' bits, and the vanilla bits are plastic.
On the top it has a plus and a minus, which I'm very pleased about having had a massager before that I had to go all the way to the fastest before being able to switch off. The buttons are almost flush against the body, and though they don't make any discernible click you can certainly feel them depress, and a light behind them comes on (though presumably in use you're unlikely to see this).
The end of the vibe is where the batteries go. You twist one way to open and the opposite to close. Unlike most vibe battery bits it doesn't close with a screw thread. I cannot express how happy I am about this in mere words. Seriously. I hate screw threads. They are *the* single most annoying thing on anything that requires opening and closing. So yay for the FUNFACTORY people for realising that the last thing you want to be doing when your batteries inconveniently run out midway through is fighting with a screw thread.
Inside it marks which way up each battery should sit.The fit though is snug, and although it says that it takes rechargeable I honestly wouldn't unless you're willing to spend the next three days wiggling them out again. It took me several tries to get the ordinary batteries in.
The vibe is a comfortable weight for holding for a fair period of time, and the end with the battery compartment is slightly tapered to make for easier grip.
In use:
It has eight speeds. Eight! I sat there pushing the plus button thinking, "this'll be the last one" each time. There are three patterns; two of which are essentially the same pattern faster and slower.
First use I find the disadvantage/advantage of the lack of screw thread. Namely if you hold it at the end you undo it and it stops. This doubles as an advantage because it means if you need to stop it suddenly because say your 'phone keeps persistently ringing as if it were an emergency (though it turns out to be your mother asking if you want some veet), you can stop quickly.
It took me a while to get into the right sort of position with it. The lower end of power is about right for me, although the very lowest is a bit too slow. The patterns though are fabulous. I've never really been a pattern person, prefering just as fast as possible. However, fast as possible on this would probably numb me for a week. The patterns are gorgeous though, and though it takes a while it gives me a really lovely achey orgasm.
For using during penetrative sex we found that chair based was the best. Because of the shape in missionary it is a sure route to having it squished against your pelvic bone (unless the other person has very strong arms and can stay upward for the whole time), and in on top positions it means having to stay lifted. However, we used it with me sat in chair and him kneeling in front, this gave plenty of space for the vibe, and also the chance for him to get a bit buzzed occasionally.
Though alone I have had some great clitoral orgasms, used in conjunction with penetration (person or toy) it is fabulous. So fabulous that I should probably apologise to most of my street.

- Pros
- Pretty shape, stylish look, good orgasms.
- Cons
- Odd way to put batteries
- Bottom line
- Really very good.
