The riding crop is 2' in length and has a leather shaft and rubber handle finished with a metal end. Lovehoney's heart logo graces the top of the whip with one padded purple satin side and the other side a black leather. The build quality is truly amazing and the price seems a bargain as a result.

The best bit about the whip is the fact that the two sides are not gimmicks: they are completely distinguishable even when used at different strengths. The soft padded side does soften the blow and sounds different to the thwack of the leather side. The leather does provide the desired sting when used with the right force. As the head of the whip has a slightly larger surface area than a standard crop the pressure is more evenly distributed causing less pain and less marking (unless of course you want that in which case its more than capable) making it more forgiving for the beginner. Presumably when used with enough force there is a nice heart mark as a souvenir. When stroked across the skin the two sides again provide two different sensations.

So far there seems to be no downside to this product, the wrist strap seems a bit unneeded but does add to the feel of this being an actual crop rather than sex toy. The length means it is harder to store but this is a necessity.

Overall a fantastic product which should appeal to everyone. As a beginner, the larger head seems to allow the whipper a greater error of margin (harder to overstep the mark) while still giving the reciever a fantastic feeling. Can't praise enough.

Deceptively cute crop with a vicious little sting

I bought this crop while it was on special offer, but would happily have paid more for such a high-quality product. It's by far one of my favourite bits of kinky kit, perfect for starting spanking sessions with as the softer side is great for building up circulation, plus the different materials on either side makes it excellent for sensory play. My favourite part of the design is how disarmingly cute it looks - great for playing mind-games with people who expect it to be as gentle as it looks.

Essentially, the leather (black) side is the "stingy" side of the crop, whereas the satin (purple) side is the "soft" side - though both are capable of leaving a nice heart-shaped mark on your skin if used with sufficient force. I recommend using the satin side to start with before alternating between both sides to keep your partner guessing; this technique is especially effective if your partner is blindfolded and can't tell which side is coming next ;)

The shaft of the crop is relatively flexible, and covered with a soft braiding material, so if your aim isn't perfect it's not likely to cause any nasty welts on your partner's skin. The handle has a leather loop, big enough for a wrist but also suitable for hanging on a storage hook. The handle itself is coated in a rubber material, which helps provide a bit of grip.

Beginners will find it easy and safe to use as a gentle introduction to erotic spanking, but I highly recommend it as an addition to anyone's bondage toybox - especially if you're looking for something feminine that still has a bit of a sting in the tail.

When I first looked at this I did feel it was a bit pricey but decided to go for it anyway as I liked the look of it.

It arrived today and had a quick go. Have to say it does not feel cheap so feel like you get your money's worth.

It looks so sexy, feels sexy and gives enough of a sting to make you want to moan with joy!
