First off - thanks to Lovehoney for finally making this one available since there aren't that many resellers out there and the price is competitive.

Strap-on dildos can make you feel over-equipped and unsexy, and it's difficult for the giver to get much physical stimulation from using them. Not to mention, they feel very external. This one is the most realistic and well designed strapless dildo you can find. It's ergonomically designed to fit you and it doesn't look like an alien. With practice you can totally make it a mental extension of yourself.

The uses of this one are very versatile; it works for solo or couple sex, and for couples of any gender.

The price is quite high for a sex toy and even slightly elevated for a strapless strap-on, but after hesitating I'm really glad that I invested anyway.

The bulb neck felt a little bit weak since it bends a bit more than the other bits for being narrower; The build is strong and top quality though so I don't think that it'd be very prone to breaking nevertheless. That was my only concern when I saw this but the material is very strong so I don't believe that it would really break!

The material is soft and skin-like, extremely smooth. I was surprised to find out that it really is completely odourless! No strange rubber toy odours like usually.

In penetrative sex, probably the best for positions where you can keep your legs together; Even though the bulb does stay in place well, it would take insanely strong muscle work to thrust aggressively in a position with legs much apart. It doesn't feel heavy but it's not light either.

The long stem and heavy material of course do muffle the vibrations quite a lot, but not completely. The bullet that comes with it is a strong type but it can be replaced with any other standard sized bullet vibe if you believe that you know some stronger option. This feature does make it an even better toy though. It's one more option to the ways of using it.

I can totally recommend this to transmen, lesbians and straight couples.

It does take practice to learn to use it both mentally and physically but there are so many ways to use it. I mainly recommend this to people who already know how to control their orgasms by their PC muscles; that's a sign that your muscles are likely developed enough to keep this toy in place and you won't feel disappointed.

More Real-Look than Real-Feel but real stimulating too

Packaging:

The Realdoe arrives in quite different packaging than the usual red and clear plastic box that I’m now used seeing Tantus toys in. Instead it arrives in flat plastic packaging with the Realdoe in the raised out moulded portion at the front and an insert with product information at the back.

One thing that I noticed is the packaging mentioning how this is ‘The world’s only strapless strap-on and multi-use toy for adults’. Now I don’t know whether that’s because this is made of medical grade silicone and therefore it’s not sold as a novelty as many similar toys are, but I know that I owned a very similar design years ago.

Other things mentioned on the packaging include that it is 100% made in America and made with medical grade platinum silicone which is safe and hypoallergenic.

First Impression:

Seeing the Realdoe in person for the first time it appears quite lengthy. Its colour is quite a warm flesh tone which reminds me of the Tantus Pack ‘N’ Play range of toys or Tantus’ ‘Caramel’ colour option when buying their realistic toys.

The shaft of the Realdoe has a generous amount of length and is just on the slim side of average in terms of girth. The head of the toy is realistically shaped and the shaft features equally realistic veining.

To feel and squeeze, the silicone feels particularly firm which for me took away from some of its realism as a dildo, I can see why the ‘bulb’ portion of the toy may need to be firm but I would have liked to have Tantus’ dual density O2 silicone used for the shaft or even just a softer silicone overall.

At the base of the shaft you’ll find three raised ridges which look to have been placed there for clitoral stimulation of the wearer and between these and the bulb there are some small flattened testicles which house the Realdoe's bullet vibrator.

The bulb of the toy feels firm but has a slim neck which is is quite a bit more flexible and manoeuvrable.

In Use:

Made of firm feeling silicone, the Realdoe may require some warm up beforehand. The bulb of the toy though is a nice modest size and well shaped for easy insertion. Basically it is the size and shape of a small egg. Just like a butt plug, it can inserted either anally or vaginally and depending on the strength of your kegel (or anal) muscles it hopefully stays put.

I found the bulb very easy to insert and despite my liking for larger toys it stayed well in place when just wearing it. The test then comes when trying to thrust with it while knowing there’ll be a certain amount of pull on the other end of the toy.

The shaft end of the toy with its firm build is something I would only recommend taking anally if you are experienced in anal play. When enjoyed vaginally its average size feels manageable but it’s the firmness that would make me warn inexperienced anal players to maybe opt for the ‘Realdoe Slim’ instead.

The shaft of the Realdoe has a firm but otherwise realistic feel with its ridged head and the realistic pattern of veining that adorns its full insertable length. When on the receiving end of it vaginally I found its length satisfyingly filling and my partner said the same after experiencing it anally. Half way along the length of the shaft it bends to a degree that some G-spot spot or prostate stimulation can be provided if angled right.

Getting back to the ‘bulb’, it is mostly comfortable for the ‘wearer’ though not hugely stimulating until you thrust rigorously. When thrusting vigorously you then run into the problem of it not staying put. To fix this the ‘Strapless Strap-on’ can actually be worn internally while also placed into a harness. We found that to be the most comfortable and enjoyable way of using it and it allowed for more vigorous thrusting and more stimulation for both the receiver and the wearer.

While it is sold as being strapless, wearing it internally while also in a harness it still holds its use as a strap-on which also stimulates the wearer or giver and for that reason I’m still a big fan of its design. As well as having the bulb for the giver to wear, it has a vibrating function. The included bullet vibrator slips into the balls of the toy just under the bulb and these vibrations stimulate the giver much more than the receiver.

While these vibrations are barely felt up the shaft of the toy, they do carry in the bulb and particularly at the clitoral ridges which provides some moderate clitoral stim during use.

It’s not the quietest, sturdiest or most powerful of bullets either but the hole in the base of the Realdoe can easily accommodate other bullets so if you have a favourite you want to swap it out for this works.I’ve always found the bullets included with Tantus toys to be a letdown so I personally like to swap them for a different/multi-speed bullet instead.

Care:

Made of high-quality medical grade Silicone, the Tantus Realdoe is both Latex and Phthalates free, silicone is completely non-porous meaning that it can be fully disinfected by boiling it for 3 minutes or by throwing it into the top rack of your dishwasher or it can be simply washed after use with warm soapy water or specialized toy cleaner, it is generally believed that silicone based lubricants should not be used with silicone toys. I would recommend using a generous amount of water-based lubricant with the Realdoe.

When not in use, I keep mine in a Zip-sealed plastic bag; this keeps it dust and lint free as silicone toys are well known for attracting hairs and dust.

In Summary:

A great investment for couples who want simultaneous stimulation from strap-on play. Quite realistic to look at though not realistic feeling. One recommended for the more experienced players out there if for use anally. My only gripe being that the included bullet lets it down.

We'd been looking at Realdoes/strapless style dildos for some time, but were put off by the colours: she liked the concept but didn't feel she could identify with a bright red/dark black thing swinging between her legs. There's also the issue that within the Tantus range, at least, the colours dictate the size, weirdly - the longer is bright red and bright red only, biggest is black because we all still like to reinforce porn myths apparently, all that stuff - so we were struggling with which to purchase. It was made even more complex due to he fact that she's quite a tight girl, despite being tall for a woman at 5'10", so she was intimidated by other manufacturers with their much larger and more bulbous inserts.

So when we saw the Realdoe our luck was in. A similar shape with a degree of authenticity she likes (she often fantasises about having a penis) and can identify with, not outrageously big and with a moderate insert which shouldn't cause her any discomfort. And it wins on all those points, but there is one factor anyone looking to purchase a product of this type should consider, and which another reviewer mentioned: you need to be sure that your PC/pelvic floor muscles have a bit of strength to them to be able to use this well.

It still causes her some discomfort to insert, but even this isn't an indicator of strong pelvic muscles, just of your, uh, natural size, I guess is the best way to phrase it. It's quite loose once inserted in our case, and can waggle around meaning that there's little leverage for actual "use". So be forewarned: if you don't do Kegels don't immediately assume that a strapless "strap-on" like this is going to work just because you're naturally tight. Unless you're a stage performer who does insane things with ping-pong balls it's going to require a little effort to see some return on your investment :)
