I wasn't holding out much hope for the smell but Lelo is a brand I trust and the bottle something I don't have to hide away. In fact the packaging is stunning but then I am a packaging whore.

The bottle itself is easy to manoeuvre in the most awkward of times, there's no worry about spills, tipping or in my usual case rolling over on the damn thing causing it to explode...

My partner commented straight away how non-chemical it felt. The bottle has a pump action that dispenses sensible amounts. On his hands it warmed quickly and he didn't need that much. I was lucky enough to get a rub down first and for the first time I can really see the benefits of using oil made exactly for this purpose.

Using the oil, there's no skin drag at all, it works into skin very well but also doesn't sink in too quickly. It doesn't feel heavy on your skin like most oil does and we only used two small squirts. For a 30-minute massage!

It was at least 5 minutes before I remembered about the smell, I was a little surprised to realise there was no cloying heavy black and gold scent in the air. Just the occasional waft of sweet spicy warmth. After reading the product description again, we both agreed and decided it smelt like the bottom of a tin of boiled sweets! Believe me this is a good thing, it's a really delicate smell and it could have just been the moment but it might get stronger the warmer it gets. It feels absolutely wonderful, warm without being sticky and sheer enough that your partner won't mind getting it everywhere.

Following the inevitable, I fell asleep and woke in the morning to see just a small amount of the gold flake on my skin. More like a shimmer, I had a sparkly shoulder which rinsed easily in the shower. I decided to put some on my forearm before leaving for work and am happy to report I can still smell a small amount 10 hours later.

I've also just checked our sheets, there was no staining in the first place and I had no worries about getting the Lelo oil on things. I don't think it's runny enough to be a concern to your mattress either.

Unlike some oils that you may want off your skin quickly, I'd be very interested to see if Lelo produce a perfume or moisturiser one day. For now, I'm looking at their lube for my next purchase...

*** on a side note, we noticed due to the fact it's winter that the glass bottle is exceptionally cold despite being in a heated room. We've since used the oil again and alternated between the oil being warmed between hands and using the cold edge of the bottle - definitely recommend!

Lelo is one of my favourite brands. I've actually not got any of their sex toys but I've invested in lots of their ties/restraints/oils/candles lately and I'm always over the moon.

Arrived quickly and packed discreetly as usual. Opening the box, I was just as excited with the gorgeous packaging as I have been before. The box is lovely, made from thick card that's a beautiful mix of matte and patent. The oil itself is just a beautifully packaged. The big orange O covers the pump so that it cannot be activated whilst in a box/draw/bag. Made of plastic, this comes off with ease and feels nice and chunky in your hand. This was actually bigger than I thought it was going to be. I was pleased as this isn't cheap.

Give this a shake before you pump it. It's actually made with 24ct gold and these flakes will sink to the bottom otherwise. I pumped one spray into my hand and rubbed it onto the backs of my arms just so I could feel the texture and have a smell. It was ever so smooth on my skin and the smell had just the right amount of power without being overwhelming.

Later I had a chance to try this out on my partner who loves to be indulged with a nice long massage. We've actually used the Lelo massage candles before and my partner decided that she liked the sensation of this on her skin slightly more than those. As the person using it, I found that this lasted well once on the skin but that I used what felt like a considerable amount in order to have the desired amount of oil on the skin.

Overall, I really enjoyed using this oil and my partner really loved the feel/smell of it on her. Given its cost, though, I totally consider it worth every penny. I would probably interchange it with the Lelo candles as I think the wax goes a little further.
