I'd been wondering about these stockings for a while so finally bit the bullet and bought them.

They arrived in simple packaging as always, folded up.

The first thing I thought when I opened them was 'oh cr@p'. I'd forgotten that they don't arrive pre-laced. So I spent the best part of 15 mins lacing up one of the stockings. In case anyone finds it useful, I laced them up every 3 holes (so, lace, miss three holes and lace again). This worked really well and looked pretty until I came to put them on. The stockings themselves went all the way up my leg but, being taller with 'bigger' legs, there was NOT enough ribbon. I could have re-laced them leaving more space between but I wanted them to look lovely and laced and not with large gaps between them.

Frustrated, I put them down and left them... until a week ago when I decided I was going to buy more ribbon and have another go.

So take two. Pulled all of the old lace out and starting re-lacing again.

This time (having copious amounts of ribbon) I started to re-lace them every 2 holes (lace, miss two holes and lace again). About 25 mins later, after getting into a rhythm, I had done it!

I put them on and started arranging the ribbon. Now this does take some time but not excessively so and it is harder if you're doing it yourself - mirror required for ease. But because I had taken time lacing the ribbon through the eyelets, I had already made sure that the ribbon was all threaded and so therefore lying straight - and the ribbon laced through the left hand side was the 'bottom' ribbon and the ribbon laced through the right hand side was the 'top' ribbon.

Now I should mention that the material is lovely and soft. It is quite thick and if they were tights they would be quite a thick denier. However, this isn't a problem as they feel like they would last longer and have more stretch.

The top of the stockings are plain but ever so slightly ribbed (if that's the right word??). There is a hem of about an inch / inch and a half to give them a *little* grip. I say little because as mentioned in the description if you don't lace them up they're going to roll down. There is nothing to otherwise keep these up.

The other thing that surprised me was the length of them. I'm a 6" 1' female and these came quite high up my leg, certainly over my knee and a little up my thigh (which is good for me!!). I'd suggest if you were a shorter person these might even go almost all the way up your leg - I guess it depends on what look you're looking for.

The other thing being is that you don't have to pull them up as high as I did - being tights you could just not pull so much, if that makes sense?

Now aside from the fact that it takes you a while to lace, the other thing I really like about these stockings is that if you had different coloured lace you could actually lace them to match whatever you're wearing; multi-purpose!! Bonus!

So all positive so far (except the lack of ribbon!!)...

Except perhaps the eyelets. They are essentially material and they're fine all the way along the length of the stocking except when you get to the very top - if you pull the ribbon too tight, you pull on the eyelets and they get stretched. I'm also worried that that it's going to pull and rip. It hasn't happened so I can't say it's going to but it's a small, small concern.

Otherwise the pair I had were very well made, no excess thread or anything like that attached either.

Personally, I cannot understand why one of the other reviewers said they gave up and said these were a waste because they had to thread them themselves?! Spend 20 mins or so lacing them up and your partner WILL appreciate it.

They looked great and I felt sexy as hell, especially with a pair of high heels! And because I sometimes have skin problems, these were thick enough to cover the parts I was slightly unhappy with, which gave me an extra confidence boost.

I think if you're looking for a good pair of lace up stockings these are worth going for. Just be aware you *may* have to buy more lace if you are taller with slightly larger (and hopefully proportionate!) legs.

These stockings look very sexy on, but when they first arrived we had to lace them up, so the race to open the parcel and try them on came to a halt.

Having said that, once they were laced up and on they were worth the time spent doing it.

I liked the idea of these and how they look on although took a far bit of work before getting to the stage of putting them on as you have to thread the lace yourself.

I did find them very long, so if you are shorter than average avoid, I had a huge amount of ribbon left over which I had to cut off.

Once on they really look the part and feel comfortable, I chose the red and black.I have not got around to wearing these as much as I would like to as not very practical for everyday, but nice treat for partner or out clubbing.
