Portia scores again
Reviewed: 15 Sep 2012 by blondes_have_more_fun, a Single Straight Female
I've read several Portia da Costa books, and I love them all. They're described as erotic romances, which sums her style up perfectly. If you want a romantic storyline and characters you care about coupled with extremely hot sex scenes, this is for you.
The storyline is more than just 'will they, won't they get it together/get married'. I really wanted to find out what happened to the characters. And it includes some of the most inventive sex scenes I've ever read. They start on page 1 with a very sexy letter - no flicking over several chapters to find the erotic bits in this book!
I thought it was a bit of a cliché having a repressed librarian called Gwendolynne, but maybe, as a librarian's daughter myself, I'm a bit sensitive!
There are some nice tie-ins to Portia's other novels - we find out a bit more about Annie and Valentino from Suite Seventeen, and, though I haven't yet read it, Robert and Maria from Entertaining Mr Stone.

- Pros
- Hot, romantic, good characters.
- Cons
- Nothing.

Incredible and brilliant and, erm, hot
Reviewed: 18 Jul 2011 by Tawney, a Going Steady Straight Female
I found this to be an excellent book. Great storyline with brilliantly detailed descriptions that left me hot and horny on many occasions.
I have to be honest and say that if I hadn't met my other half like I did then I think I would have probably met him like the story in this book.
I'd recommend this to everyone - great stuff!
I'm now going to find another one of Portia da Costa's and I hope it's just as good!

Very sexy read
Reviewed: 31 Jul 2010 by suze9, a Married Straight Female
This is the first novel I have bought along these lines, I had a short stories book from my first purchase on the site but I got bored pretty quickly with it. This on the other hand took me 48 hours to read which in my busy house is good going!
The book is not very long, 233 pages infact, and the story is a very good one, it has mystery and sex what more can you ask for? I do not think I will look at a library the same way again. It may have been too tame for me as I did not feel compelled to relieve myself during my reading, but it did not in any way spoil what was a very well written story and I will be buying more books in the not too distant future.

- Cons
- Not long enough and quite tame.
