      The first good thing about this vibrator is the box - it came in beautiful solid well made sophisticated looking box which I loved; no plastic tackiness at all. It also comes accompanied by a nice silky storage pouch, which I use when taking it somewhere in a bag etc.

      The next thing I noticed was just how pretty it is! This was my 1st 'luxury' toy and it's just so sleek and smooth with a really classy curvy shape. The material itself is very soft and you can tell it's a pricey item just by touching it.

      The practicality of being able to charge it up has absolutely slashed my battery consumption - I imagine that in 10 years time it will have paid for itself (it comes with a 10-year guarantee, which is most impressive service) - and is very useful. Not that I am having to charge it up very much, as fully charged, it lasts a fair amount of time.

      When switched on, it is one of the quietest vibrators I've ever had the pleasure of using which is brilliant and generally adds to the sheer elegance of this sex toy. There's 5 different patterns of vibration but unlike some vibrators the control button allows you to go backwards AND forwards through the cycle. Within the different patterns there is a also a + and - button for the intensity of the vibration - so there's a huge variety of sensations on offer. There are 2 different 'vibration centres' (motors?), 1 in the end and 1 in the base, and the different vibration patterns certainly make the most of these 2 spots.

      Personally, I love how the vibration sort of 'accelerates' in intensity so smoothly when holding down the + button, and the geek in me enjoys the subtle little illumination of the control button when pressed. The Lelo elise is the gem of my sex toy collection but I think it'd also be perfect as a 1st vibrator or even a gift - it's so pretty I don't think anybody could ever feel threatened by it!

      Normally, I could never justify spending this much on a toy (I'm a broke student), but this was given to me as a gift and I absolutely adore it.

      It arrived in a lovely box and was already partially charged (the fact it's rechargeable is a huge plus, never need to worry about finding batteries). It has a really lovely finish, which feels really soft but also warms up after a few minutes, which really improves the sensation. I used the instruction book to figure out the control panel which, to be honest, was a bit baffling at first. I think that takes a bit of getting used to, although once you do it's quite intuitive.

      I'd previously been quite loyal to Rampant Rabbits and although they were fun to use I'd probably only get them out once a month (if that). Where they always felt quite clanky and separate from the experience the Elise is really unobtrusive and subtle, which makes it feel more than an accessory to your orgasm rather than something you're constantly aware of!

      It works really well for both clitoral stimulation and penetration (the former is really important for me and something I've struggled to find in a dildo) so I think it's perfect for everyone.

      While it is pricey I'd definitely recommend it - my other toys are now being relegated to the back of the drawer!

      You've got to love a vibrator that arrives all charged up and ready to go. Seems like the manufacturers understand how eagerly the arrival of these things is generally anticipated after all.

      And that's Lelo all over. So many thoughtful little touches which really make their products stand out. On top of the one-year warranty there's a ten-year guarantee. So confident are they in the quality of their products that they're willing to offer 50% off a replacement should one be necessary within 10 years of purchase.

      With a guarantee like that, what might initially look like a big price-tag suddenly begins to make sense. If you also take into account the fact that with Lelo toys it should never be necessary to buy batteries again, it almost starts to seem like a bargain.

      As with other Lelo toys, the Elise locks so that it can't be turned on by mistake and is extremely classy looking, which probably makes it a better bet for couples who want to play together than something plasticy, bright pink and penis shaped. It's also very soft to the touch and being silicone, very easy to care for.

      And you do get plenty of bang for your buck. Elise is very powerful but very quiet. Its unique selling point is that it has two motors - one in the base and one in the shaft. Five vibration cycles allow you to chose between running both at once, or one at a time, or switch rapidly between the two. Combined with the positioning of the motors, which ensures that the sensation can be felt along the full length of the toy rather than just around the base as with some toys, this means that Elise feels unlike any other vibrator.
