I really like the idea of a sex toy that isn't a sex toy--I think that that increases the chances that someone will feel comfortable enough to take that first big leap towards trying something new in the bedroom, which will then lead to being comfortable taking other leaps. I also really like the idea of a sex toy that is outside the usual--not a vibrator, not a dildo, not a lube...something completely different.
But the sensible part of my brain wouldn't shut off long enough to really enjoy this toy. Because for what you get...it just isn't worth the price. You get the necklace--which is far cheaper, lighter, and flimsier than it looks in the picture--a penis balm that is supposed to enable your man to last longer, and a tiny pamphlet of instructions.
The thing is...most women have a cheap bead necklace already floating around in a back drawer somewhere. Or you can pick one up at the market for under a pound. So what you are really paying for is the balm. Unfortunately--it isn't a really great balm to go with the necklace.
In order to prevent accidental pinching with the beads, you really need a slippery lube that lets the beads slide freely. This is a solid balm that doesn't provide much, if any, slickness. And not everyone wants a balm that helps a man last longer--certainly not while giving manual stimulation, I wouldn't think. You would do far better to go with something like the Durex Play Longer Lube which would give you a similar effect with the added benefit of slipperiness.
The other thing that I pondered with this item is that it is actually a bit more advanced than it pretends to be. Being able to wrap a rope of beads around a cock, twisting and spinning them quickly, and giving pleasure as opposed to pinching, grabby pain is not an easily acquired skill. I am not sure that I would recommend that someone start out with this toy if they aren't fairly confident already.
Far better to experiment at home with long hair, silk scarves, and the like before you leap right into hard beads. There ARE instructions included, but they are thin and give the framework only. They also take up a page explaining how to "receive a pearl necklace" for women. Which...I didn't quite understand why it was included. But there you go.
For my money, this product isn't worth it. Get your own set of beads elsewhere and use whatever lube you have on hand. Experimenting is fun on its own--you don't need this kit for that.
