I have always said that anyone who is thinking of trying out erotica should start with short story collections, because it allows you to dip your toes in with several authors and types of fantasies without committing to an entire book of one type.
Black Lace Quickies is one of the best examples of this because Black Lace books are everywhere, and because some of the authors have such a strong style that you really need to know what you're getting into before you commit.
This edition of short stories has no over-arching theme, as usual (though I would say that there is probably more pain/discipline than other volumes), but there seemed to be more focus on people and events that are...seedier. This volume is filled with amoral businesswomen fucking men over (and over and over, in many many ways), criminals deceiving security women, mysterious men "gifting" women to other men...all sorts of people who you wouldn't want to have dinner with.
But some of them, you might want to take to bed. If you like your fantasies to err on the side of really naughty, this volume will do it for you. It is chock full of people who focus strictly on business and their hormones, with not a bit of mushy love or romance. If you find that stories that try to be emotional or sentimental get in the way of your erotic enjoyment, this is going to be the volume for you.
