A new American imprint from Torquere Press, specialising in well-told romances and erotic romances, especially those with a Western twist or Southern flair, with a particular interest in m?nage titles.

The original and best-known imprint of erotic fiction for women. Inaugurated in July 1993, this British company emerged as the leading imprint of erotic fiction for women, selling over four million books worldwide. The series continues to go from strength to strength, publishing full-length novels and anthologies, either general (Wicked Words 10) or themed (Sex in the Office). "Hot sexy romantic fiction for today's woman," from Virgin Books, the publishers of Black Lace. The tone is less strong than Black Lace, the settings principally American, and the stories should, in their words, "appeal to the indulgent side of the young female. In the way that women?s magazines are narcissistic (they allow women unashamed indulgence in luxuries and in themselves), so Cheek should be novel-length narratives about the 'gaining of female pleasure' ? through sex, but also through ampering, shopping, dressing up, travelling, having great times, enjoying all that young life has to offer."

This British publisher specialises in strong SM/CP (corporal punishment) novels, with a mandatory central submissive female character, a 'Damsel in Distress' theme and plenty of caning and spanking.

This American company specialises in "paranormal romance", with a dash of erotica. In their words, "We want stories with strong female protagonists or women who grow and become empowered - women discovering themselves and discovering new worlds. The market leader in bondage/fetish/SM erotica in the UK, Nexus has recently branched out in two different directions as well as its stand-alone novels: Nexus Enthusiast, with novels focusing on specific areas of interest like Leg Lover (by L.G. Red Sage is an American company publishing Secrets, an ongoing anthology series of romantic erotica billed by the publishers as 'Sensuous, bold, spicy, untamed, hot, and sometimes politically incorrect'. That doesn't mean you should send them your 'erotic' Englishman, Irishman and a Scotsman jokes, though...

Silver Moon is a British company specialising in strong SM narratives unhindered by the guidelines more mainstream companies like Nexus and Black Lace follow. In practice this can mean mixing sex with violence and plenty of sex slavery/non-consensual material: as they say, Silver Moon is not "for those who dislike strong adult content", so approach with caution. Staying with their words, 'Silver Moon provides a place for storytellers to tell their story unhindered by mainstream requirements of what is appropriate. Mainstream considerations regarding what may be appropriate content for readers may sometimes result in some of the best stories never being told, or where mature adults cannot find content that satisfies them.
