I'm not sure who read my introduction thread, but here's a bit of back story.....I used to have a pretty good sex life and have used toys in the past. At least I did up until around 5/6 years ago when I broke my hip.

To cut a looong story short I have had lots of problems with my hip over the past 5 years and during that time I was in so much pain that the thought of any play (be it solo or with someone) didn't even cross my mind.

I had my hip replaced back in September and very happy to say that I've been doing great so far!

I ordered some bits last week, one of which was the basics 6 inch dildo. Since I am not new to toys as such I presumed that it would be fine but apparently my 5 year drought means the girth is too much for me at the moment :-(
So, the question really is what dildo/vibrator would you suggest would be better for me to begin with?
I'm definitely not returning the other as I love it! It'll just have to sit and look pretty for now (as pretty as a penis shaped dildo can look anyway haha)

Woops that turned into a bit of an essay sorry!

    Thanks in advance :-)

instead of suggesting a vibe/dildo i'm going to recommend http://www.lovehoney.co.uk/product.cfm?p=9816 not for any medical fetish aspect or seeing what things look like, more the bonus that using it as a warm up tool will make larger toys like the basics dildo slide in as easily as http://www.lovehoney.co.uk/product.cfm?p=28408 does with out any warm up

Can I suggest this? http://www.lovehoney.co.uk/product.cfm?p=16726 You can still use it vaginally and is nice and slim x

The other suggestions are good, if you don't mind potentially harmful or porous materials but I'd recommend something made out of silicone or possibly even glass. Glass tends to be smaller than other dildos and sleek so easier to insert.

How about one of these http://www.lovehoney.co.uk/product.cfm?p=22769 or http://www.lovehoney.co.uk/product.cfm?p=22767 - they're both made out of silicone so are completely safe. If you want a suction cup you could go for this one http://www.lovehoney.co.uk/product.cfm?p=28715

In terms of glass, there is so much choice! You can see all glass dildos here http://www.lovehoney.co.uk/sex-toys/dildos/glass-dildos/

@myghost that's a really good idea thank you! I had never even considered anything like a speculum, I only really think about them when I'm due a smear test lol

@Purring-Pussy I was actually looking at the anal dildos earlier.

    Thank you both :-)

    Thanks, some really helpful suggestions!

Payday in just under a week so I have got plenty of browsing time until then :-)

@PinkPolkaDot I know next to nothing about any possibly harmful substances :-/ is there anywhere here that I could have a read about that?

I can recommend the first 2 that PPD has suggested, they are slim and of excellent quality. They were my first silicone dildos.

Glass dildos are amazing too and worth considering, as PPD also suggested

Good luck in finding something suitable x

There are actually a few threads about this, there was once recently but I found more

This is the most recent one: http://www.lovehoney.co.uk/community/forums/sex-toys/944883-phthalates-free-are-you-sure-also-a-q-about/

    http://www.lovehoney.co.uk/community/forums/sex-toys/790588-paranoid-about-phthalates/

    http://www.lovehoney.co.uk/community/forums/off-topic/318590-phthalates-how-seriously-do-you-take-them

The other 2 are older and I haven't read every single post but they're relevant to the topic.

Looks like I'm too late for this order, but maybe for the next one -

Swoon Release or another slim cigar vibe might be good internally to help everything relax. Then when you're comfortable with something else inside, you can use it clitorally.
