In my gym bag which just sits in my room. I don't have a wardrobe or any draws or anything in my room (separate room full of wardrobes). Just hope that noone looks in that bag! My bed is a low one and only has like a 2 inch gap, so can't hide stuff under there :-(

Mine are in the bedside drawer, but I get the feeling that I may have to move them, as I seem to be getting quite a few.  Would like a nicely decorated wooden box, with lock :) but bedside table it is, just hope no one goes snooping

I'm starting to run out of space! I have a photocopier paper box and a lovehoney delivery box, plus an old plastic toy box full! I'd really like a nice wooden box with a lock to go on-top of my wardrobe, but buying one would be suspicious.

Just a note of caution: zippers can be opened with a pen and closed up again without leaving any trace; if your hiding place relies on a locked zip, you might want to think about changing it.

EDIT: Whoops! Sorry, I was reading two threads on a similiar topic and meant to post in the recent one. Sorry for bumping this old one!

The only thing I can think of is to get a metal box which can lock securely, and keep the key with you at all times.  Everybody is entitled to some privacy, and if anybody nags you about what's in it, just tell them it's private.  If they insist, then tell them if they really want to know, then they are welcome to try to break the lock.

I think Lubyanka hit the nail on the head. Everyone is entitled to some privacy. Parents rightly keep their sex lives private and would be horrified if their children demanded to search their bedroom for sex toys, lingerie or pornography or watch them having sex.

Obviously parents want to protect their children from keeping things that are harmful or illegal (drugs, weapons etc) but they shouldn't be surprised to find sex toys or pornography if they feel it's necessary to search their childrens' possessions after they reach puberty. If parents are embarrassed by what they see they certainly shouldn't vent those feelings on their children.

As Lubyanka also said, teenagers are probably the group in society who have the most need for pornography and sex toys and they have nothing to be ashamed of. I think some of the prevalent attitudes are a hangover from the days when explicit pornography was illegal (pre 2000 in the UK, I think) and sex toys were less accepted.

The point that really concerns me is the effect this has on our sexuality. It can't be healthy for our very first sexual experiences to be shrouded in shame and furtiveness. Thinking back to my teenage years, shame and secrecy about masturbation definitely affected my sexual attitudes negatively.

Any parents out there who'd like to comment?

extreme or explicit pornography is still illegal. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Section_63_of_the_Criminal_Justice_and_Immigration_Act_2008

in fact videoing things you can do perfectly legally is a crime.

    Interesting information, thanks.

Nothing covered by that has ever floated my boat and I suppose I'm assuming the majority of teenagers wouldn't be interested by it either.

I keep mine in a box under my bed along with condoms/lube/lingerie.

I've had the box since I was about 7, and it used to be full of half finished art projects, so I assume my mother still think that that's what's in there...

Erh. I agree. I had problem with my sexuality until about year ago (I am turning 25 this September).  I was even ashamed to touch myself, because from young age I was told girls don´t touch that part of body! I seriously viewed it as something dirty, which had terrible effect on my sexuality. And yes, there is some prejudice against toys, I met it as well, like why I do need toy if I have partner etc.

Ah, so that's why nearly every woman has a teddy bear ;)

    I've always wondered.

You could start a bussiness in sex toy hiding places.
