Hi, I'm 21 but still a virgin and I've never used any sort of 'toy' before. I'm thinking of getting my first one and have been considering the Desi Pure Love Eggs, but I'm not sure how suitable they would be for a total beginner. I don't want to use any of the smaller bullet/ clit vibes etc as I find clit stimulation too painful.

    Any advice?

Hi, welcome to lovehoney. Have you thought about using a small vibe instead of a clit one? My personal experience from love eggs are that they didn't do much for me. Theres lots of things on here for you to look at and try out, and everybody I've come across are always friendly and very helpful, including lovehoney customer service. If you don't like something you purchase or you get it and then decide against it, you can send it back free of charge and get a full refund or ask for something else up to 365 days after you purchase anything.

Good luck finding something you like, and don't forget to posta review on anything you purchase, it always helps us other buyers to get an insight to how it was for you, even if it already has reviews, it's nice to see different points of view and opinions.

Hope to see you around the forums, let us know how you get on.

Hello and welcome to the forums.

Take a look at the welcome page: http://www.lovehoney.co.uk/community/forums/inside-lovehoney/327670-welcome-to-the-lovehoney-forum/

There are some great guides from Lovehoney for beginners:

I started off with a rabbit several years ago and just didn't get on with it, however I tried again a year ago and now I have quite a collection. My suggestion would be one of the BASICS range, which are cheap, cheerful and give you an idea of where to go next. http://www.lovehoney.co.uk/brands/basic-sex-toys/

    Hope this helps.

    MM xx

Hi Mrs Miggins' Cat, you might find this How to Choose Your First Sex Toy guide helpful. From what you've said, I would probably recommend a Classic Vibrator. They are slender enough for you to be able to experiment with penetration (love balls tend to be quite big) and at a low speed a lot of Classic Vibrators are suitable to try on the clit, should you want to give that another go.

anything is suitable for a beginner really hun, as long as you don't go getting 12inch dongs! lol. I'd just say take your time having a look around, see what you might like the look of and definately read any reviews, like I say if there aren't any and you purchase something and don't like it you can send it back no matter what.

As regards to clit stimulation, I am extremely sensitive and sometimes find it uncomfortable and painful, but with a little coaxing and gentle persuasion that goes away and after that it feels amazing. Also it's bound to feel extra sensitive after it's been stimulated and you have orgasmed, but for me clitoral orgasm is definately the best orgasm I can experience snd is the way forward. Alot of people that I know and have spoken to outside and on lovehoney find it very difficult to orgasm from penetration alone, which is very disappointing and frustrating, the feelings there but you just can't quite get over the edge.

Can I suggest maybe buying a small vibrator to begin with even if it's a bullet, you can still use them internally, maybe one with multiple speeds to get used to what feels right for you, and use it without the vibrations first of all, internally and on your clit to see how it feels then when you are used to it, use the vibrations on the loewest setting?

We all had to start somewhere hun, and for me I'm still learning what is best for me after years of trying, and with the help of my lovely patient oh, I am getting there slowly and we are experiencing new things together.

my first vibrator was Lady Lustfinger http://www.lovehoney.co.uk/product.cfm?p=319

which is pretty slender meaning it should not be too big for careful penatration. It has a twist base, and the speeds are from very gentle to rather powerful, so it may not be uncomfortable on very gentle speed even for clitoral stimulation.

It also has waterproof version: http://www.lovehoney.co.uk/product.cfm?p=15342

Both are cheap, so they may be a good start.

And I know it may sound frustrating, but a lot of women do find it hard to orgams just from penatration. I am one myself. And sometimes I do even find it hard to take a really powerful vibrations myself (although it is sometimes what I really need to get there). What I am finding really useful is lube. It is more likely to be painful if you dont use lube (unless you get very wet by youself, which does not always happen for me for a solo play).

    have you thought about lube?

generally i find clitoral stimulation really painful without it, so it may be worth a try?

Thats what I suggested as well in my post. I agree. Although sometimes I am just really excited and I don´t need it at all (I very rarely need lube while with my partner).

I agree with what alot of others have said and would suggest some simple like a lady finger vibe as it can be used in many ways. But if you like the idea of an egg style toy, maybe something like this http://www.lovehoney.co.uk/product.cfm?p=9670 smalish, easy controls variable speed
